Yeah I'd want to maybe grab it with Karn against a superfriends deck.
I know it's not the "discard every turn" of the old-school Masticores, but chucking a card when you cast it still seems like a pretty steep price for what you get, unless you're facing down planeswalkers right now.

hmmmm... is it a glitch with Mothra and Nightmare Shepherd, where they both triggered when a Warden died and Mothra brought it back, and Shepherd forgot the "you may exile it, if you do" part of the trigger and still let the opponent click "yes" and choose to exile something that wasn't in the yard anymore?

curious to see what other dogs they print in this set, because there are currently 6 total in Standard, so any Dog Tribal (or Dog Cat tribal) is going to be built mostly on what's in M21 and later sets
core sets are notorious for funny lords that get people's hopes up only to print a couple cards tops that go with it to varying degrees of quality so I'm not getting too excited yet
