I'd be very curious as to how those sales fared after the first wave of preorders and such went through. I'm a RE whore so I own both the PS4 and PC version of RE3. :P
Yeah I'd love to have both. These interesting side stories of mutations and the zombie infested towns.
I find the idea of a generic foreign town that seems trapped 120 years in the past really boring. I had no interest in RE4 and this looks like RE4.5
The fun, for me, was exploring a lived in cityscape where you or I or any number of people could live and seeing the devastation. It has a reliability to it. Even the Spencer Mansion, yeah it's a big house with a super science lab under it but whatever, it's a big, modern house. There's a reason OG RE2 is my favourite of them. Veronica went out to ...some generic island, I can't remember where, and it was not as memorable for me. RE is at it's best for me when it's exploring the aftermath of something gone horribly wrong and the innocent (relatable) people left behind, dead or otherwise, with a few crazies mixed in.
I don't feel either the first person or old time villages. And given all they can remake now is 4 and Veronica, it makes me more sad that they both whiffed RE3make, and gutted so much from RE2 for the Remake. I could really use that Silent Hills rebirth soon.

Started up another run of RE7 after the trailer for RE8. A couple things:
1. I fucking hate the run and hide gameplay still.
2. I fucking hate the chainsaw fight.
3. This game is still scary as fuck.
Overall I vastly prefer the RE2/RE3 remake gameplay and feel. But after RE6 RE7 was a breath of fresh air.
Benefits of being someone who used to stream, I actually started watching my old playthrough from... 3 years ago. I don't remember saying any of these things.
I don't like the first section inside the Baker family residence. Once you get past Jack, the game gets much better in my opinion.
The madhouse part of the game did not feel like Resident Evil to me. It felt like a Saw ripoff, with all the amputation, shock value, dismemberment, and general gore porn that was a part of it. I didn't care for that at all.
Once you leave the Baker residence and start exploring the caves, marshlands, and boat, it started to feel much more like a traditional Resident Evil game.
Yeah the docks and beyond are way more fun to me. I also have the benefit of the post-game gun (pistol, seems to hit way harder than the original they give you) to help me through some parts of it. But I'm at the part where you have to fight the spider woman or whatever. I remember absolutely hating that fight too.
On the other hand, I love Victorian period everything. The dress, the architecture, the way they're on the brink of modernization, but not quite. All of it. And the parts of that trailer where there's a lady in a massive brimmed hat... that just hit all the right buttons for me.
I'm super stoked for a sleepy Victorian village with a werewolf problem.

I think it’s set in Romania, which I always thought is a good Gothic horror setting, even going back before Dracula where there were tales of nobles bathing in the blood of villagers to stay youthful. RE3make hinted at Umbrella Europe, so glad to maybe finally see it. I do hope they do justice to Chris, I haven’t really liked him as a character since RE1
Finished RE7. My mini-post release review is that I liked the last half of the game way more than the first half. But I overall don't love it as much as I did at release. I really do think RE6 was just that bad that RE7 really blew me away. I'm not saying it's a failure or a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. But it just wasn't fun for a lot of the game. I just hate, HATE jump scares and this game was only scary because of jump scares. It spikes my anxiety a whole lot.
Anyway 7/10.
Do we have an idea of who Ethan is? Is the DLC worth a run through to get to know him as a character? Or is it mostly running from things?
Aw. I assume that he was injected with something though right? I mean how else do you explain his hand being stitched back on and still usable. Maybe that's why they're sending in Ethan in RE8.

Ethan
is infected with the same virus everyone who comes in contact with Eveline is, that's why he keeps seeing and hearing the young girl version of her who does not physically exist.
is infected with the same virus everyone who comes in contact with Eveline is, that's why he keeps seeing and hearing the young girl version of her who does not physically exist.
But I guess I'm slightly confused then...
The game makes a point that you can create only 2 vials of serum and you use one on Lucas and there's the choice between using it on Zoe or Mia. Is this before he gets infected by the virus? You don't see Eveline until you reach the ship. So I guess maybe the virus hasn't fully awakened in him by then? I know that she's the conduit and if you are infected then she can control you.
On the ship there was a bunch of data about people who were injected with the virus and what happens after a week or so. So maybe it's possible that the regeneration ability comes first before turning into the mold/slave to Eveline's will.
I'm sorry I know we talked about this ad nauseam back at release. It took me so long to beat the game that I think I completely missed some context clues. But this time I finished it much faster.

There's some stuff that implies that you get infected much earlier than that, but control isn't really exercised early on. You're in close proximity a lot with 'old' Eveline throughout the game, and the logs make mention that mere proximity with the subject can lead to infection. Also, the game explicitly prevents you from trying to harm her in any way until after you see her after taking the serum.

Ethan is infected the moment he enters the Baker guest house. Potent regenerative abilities are one of the symptoms, as demonstrated by Jack's multiple deaths. Also note that even though Mia has been infected for however long, she can still fight the mind control to a certain extent, so it's not an instant "you get it and that's it" deal. From what I remember, it's some sort of fungus that slowly spreads inside of you.
A show can be a thousand times better than a movie because the show can be slower paced and story driven. It absolutely has the potential to be really fun.
I love the movies in a schlocky way... But I hope they stay away from that type of show.
Will the residents of New Raccoon City be aware of what happened to the old Raccoon City?
Do the people in New York have any idea what happened in Old York?
That was a joke.
“In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.
“Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past – about her sister, her father and herself – continue to haunt her.”
Possible that this manufactured town was never taught about Raccoon City. Or at least the "civilian" residents.

When are we going to just get a straight up RE1 haunted house adaptation
It seems so obvious, like you can do it on a low budget. But instead they always go for some wacky post apocalypse nonsense
When I saw "Resident Evil series on Netflix" my immediate reaction was excitement, but this sounds genuinely fucking awful.
Can someone explain to me why that is? I'm legit curious and not trying to start an argument.
"The Wesker Kids"?
I mean, it's not like Albert (and others) Wesker's origin story isn't laughable bad Capcom writing, but there's probably not actually away to phrase this in such a way that doesn't sound like a terrible attempt at a more-family-friendly cash grab.

In terms of DLC, that all seems to be focused on the Resistance mode, which has gotten a couple of updates so far.
I knew this line was in the original game, but didn’t know it would activate if Leon fell down. Like, what was he supposed to do sis?

RE8 is coming.
Rumor is that's what the devs thought too, but Capcom liked what they saw and threw more resources their way.
The trailer matches the leaked information almost exactly, so I'm pretty sure that this was indeed meant to be Revelations 3.
I'm also guessing that that means in the trailer we're seeing
1. I fucking hate the run and hide gameplay still.
2. I fucking hate the chainsaw fight.
3. This game is still scary as fuck.

that's based on the currency used in a screenshot of the inventory btw, so isn't 100% confirmed but seems to use the Romanian Leu/Lei

Yeah I'd totally be down for a miniseries that is just like this.
