Geth roll 1d20-2 for Ben
Geth roll 1d20-2 for Jerry
A sudden rattle of a bone, then the wet slap of it hitting the furthest jelly! Its domed form bursts and it deflates, spilling bright blue goo into the oncoming sea water. It’s barely cling on!
Geth roll 1d20-2 for Ben
Geth roll 1d20-2 for Jerry
A second bone, a hefty looking beast’s jaw pings through the nearest jelly, and destroys the second. A tiny droplet of a jelly pops out of it and escapes up a pipe.
Only one huge jelly remains, battered and leaning sideways.
(Catapult stops on the first thing it hits, so Jerry should be alive! Unless you want to rule of cool it and say nope, Gel is bad at stopping projectiles in motion)
Baber realizes they've been had, and after watching Gear completely mess one jelly up and seriously wound the second, they grin and growl and leap forward to attack! [OOC: whenever it's their turn in initiative.]

Taking the advice of the MYSTERIOUS VOICE IN THE SKY (i'm sorry, i couldnt resist), Gear quickly dumps her waterskin out and scoops up some aquajelly goo. Then she looks nervously at the rising tide.
"We should move, and fast. I think we're going to be in trouble if we dont get out soon"
Baber downs the rest of their waterskin, emptying it, and fills it with the splattered remains of Ben.
"Okay y'all, we need to hurry and up and get out of here. How are we going to deal with the plate traps? I can poke at em with the other end of my trident to activate em one at a time as we run across em?"
Gear picks up the remains of the bone that had slammed through Jerry, and wonders briefly if there's anything she could do with it. "Or we can toss this at the plates. Whatever works!"
She turns briefly and glares at the pipes "and dont try and eat my friends next time"
(OOC - we should just be able to throw stones, etc like last time)

Hado sloshes through the armor towards the jellies, shield and quarterstaff raised to do terrible harm, and... looks at Gear, dumbfounded. "That... what? How did... nice work!" He reaches down and picks up whatever debris he can find on the floor, remembering the plate traps. He then looks at the water covering the traps, and drops the debris. "Baber, good idea. I can do the same with my staff too."
When you pour the goo into saltwater it expands to fill the surface of the water out to a radius of 5 feet. If left for 1 hour it will become a new small-sized aqua jelly.
Alternatively, by boiling the goo it will form a translucent liquid, and once cooled will become a Potion of Water Breathing that lasts for 5 hours.

You could keep the bone as a simple trophy of the adventure if you like. It’s from a pursuer. Something to show off with?

As you throw the jawbone the plates once again slam down, and rise... they’re stuck under the weight of water, but they’ll rise eventually. The trap is ineffective. You reach the sealed door.
The door, you recall, opens by pushing a wheel around...

Hado reaches the wheel and begins to push it to open the door.
You’ve got room to breath, but at last the cave is flooding!
Over the rushing tide you see the dome is submerged and all flora is below the surface. You have no footing in the cavern lake now, and must swim to the way you came in, or chance the northern tunnel, which is slightly higher than the water line... for now!
((OOC: Sooo uh, going through the northen tunnel seems dumb given we have no idea what's there. Like, get lost in a cave is a terrible idea at the best of time,s let alone when it's flooding. I have been caving, and i learned some things. caving is terrifying)
Gear and Hado, you manage to swim against the current, reaching the very top of the dome. You each cling to one of the spines protruding from it. You each take a level of exhaustion.
You can head north, which is further into the cave, or back to the entrance. When you swim next, you’ll have to make another Athletics skill check.
Baber is gone. Just gone. You don’t see them anywhere.
The water breaks and is punched forward on a crease of white foam! You see Baber hurtling through the dark at terrible speed!
Rogo-Rogo is carrying him on his back, and the crab is heading straight for you! It leaps from the deep and lands in what little of the dome remains above water, and with ease takes you both in one scoop of his mighty claw!
Then he’s off again, heading for the cave’s entrance!

"They must have been swept by the water. I believe Calipdis can breathe underwater, so they should be okay as long as they aren't attacked by anything else. I do not like the idea of heading north when we have no idea if that cave is safe. I believe the way we came has a tall ceiling in the next cavern, so hopefully that gives us some time."
Tired beyond belief, Rogo-Rogo begins to slow as he dives through the cave’s entrance. High tide has hit, and the cove you walked along is now the sea. The iguanas, now awake fully, swim around you, or else clamber up much higher on the cliffs.
The crab places Gear and Hado in his back, and gently bobs in the water.
A small boat is being rowed towards you by Auntie Fatta.
Baber waves to her excitedly. "Ahoy! We found your Joy, Auntie, and Rogo Rogo too!"

Hado rummages through his pack looking for the Big Fish, then remembers, "I left it in the dome. I forgot to pick it back up after we freed Rogo-Rogo."

The water is pushing strongly against your feet. It’s not very deep but is tiring to move through. Soon it may be classed as difficult terrain.
