Hands down my favorite AMV, even better that it's survived FOURTEEN YEARS on a playlist I made back when I was a young teenager, most of which is long-deleted by various means

This one is also still good to listen to for a pick-me-up

I feel like AMVs were actually like really influential on my appreciation of not just anime but also like the craft of film in general.

AMVs make for really great little highlight reels of sakuga, all the best little shots and sequences from a series that by itself might not really be worth watching. But it's also a pure editing challenge, and animation is kind of uniquely flexible in being re-cut for setting up new self-contained little videos.

Watching Amvs as a teenager was really my biggest realization that like, oh wow, people MAKE videos, and there's a craft to it, and that craft can make the emotions and story that it contains better or worse. (lots of worse's, obviously)

There's a DBZ AMV set to Vertical Horizon's Everything You Want that is about Yamcha being envious of Vegeta's strength and his relationship with Bulma.

It's pretty bad. And pretty good.

If we're talking AMV, two of the three that survived on my playlist to this day are

    https://youtu.be/auAlWRDANzc

    And

    https://youtu.be/l8RqB5RBQ0A

Both being remasters of older AMV so they look at least decent too.

    Still hold up I think.

Things get changed up pretty heavily in part 7 too. There are stands but many of them act so differently from past stands that you could rightfully imagine it a different series.

    Isn't 7 the reboot?

I hadn't realized the first 2 Bloom Into You tie-in novels are available in English now, so I ended up reading them out of curiosity. They were pretty good!

The novels are basically the coming of age of Sayaka Saeki, who's one of like the only ever third wheels in a romance where people were like, "Actually y'know it would be fine if she won, she's a a really good character." It's an interesting take on her, in the novels she actually seems almost neuroatypical? Like the bookcover spiel calls her an "old soul", but it feels like a bit more than that. She's very literal, doesn't really like socializing at all even as a kid, has difficulty reading people's emotions and understanding subtext in what they say, gets upset at like minor disorder, people breaking rules, anything like that, she likes having every day strictly regimented into what she's studying that day, and she's like horrified when she realizes she almost fell asleep without doing her scheduled studying first. It's a pretty unique viewpoint for what is basically a gay coming of age / self realization story.

The ending of the Erased anime is different from the manga's ending.

There's also a live action adaption that I think has the manga's ending.

for instance, the main character ,johnny joestar, is a paraplegic twink pretty boy stunt rider instead of a meat mountain rugby playing aristocrat

also, his stand allows him to shoot his fingernails like bullets

It's wild how often "shoot gun" ends up being useful in Jojo.
