Why just lose your mind in captivity when you could listen to all your podcast faves lose their minds in captivity?

Rude Talks of Chatting is very good for this particular phenomenon

the funniest quarantine thing to me re: podcasts is when professional podcasters whine about how much harder it is to make episodes when you don't have access to a studio and have to record over VOIP so you don't get any of the energy of being in the same room

    cry some more, losers

One of the archery podcasts, the lethal podcast, I listen to recently had a Black man, Chad Brown, on to discuss racism in the outdoor recreation community.

It was a very good interview/conversation

    Episode 64

Chad also wrote an article about his thoughts on the murder of George Floyd

So, I know literally nothing about Ontarian sugar shacks, but the best ones are in the Laurentides, north of Montreal. That's the epicenter of the world's maple production.

You have to reserve WAY in advance, talking the middle of winter for a March/April reservation. These things fill up fast. Hopefully we'll have a vaccine by the time reservations open for next year?

If you decide to make that trip, let me know, we'd definitely be into tagging along. Unless you don't want to hang out with two sugared up kids, in which case I totally get it.

Yeah, I asked that question with the understanding that the recommendations would be Quebecois, because they'd have to be

I don't think we'd make reservations this winter; maybe next winter, assuming we've got the vaccine by then (or assuming COVID is under control)

Maybe that'd give me time to learn Parisian French and piss off errybody

I don't want to bump the old Waffles vs Pancakes thread so I will leave this here:

Over the course of the past couple of years I have come to prefer the taste of molasses to the taste of maple syrup, which I prefer over table syrup. The order goes, from most best to least best:

    1. Molasses
    2. Maple Syrup
    3. Table Syrup

Honey is not in the consideration, both because I can't bear to rank it and because if you try to equate blueberry honey with buckwheat honey then you are a fool who cannot be saved

This is the most Canadian post you've ever made.

I think of molasses as being southern-coded, though I know intellectually it isn't; the past couple of times I've gone back to Louisiana, I have dark molasses on my grandma's waffles

Sugar shacks being big tourist destinations, they're used to accommodating anglophones

also like, I'm pretty sure the French don't have a word for oreilles de crisse (pork rinds, "Christ ears" but sweary)

His company has been gutted repeatedly, so this isn't a surprise, but he was one of the few left who could match or eclipse Gerstmann's experience in game journalism. His absence will be notable.

How about the rock opera, or Rockera, converting the Silmarillion in to cold, hard metal: Nightfall in Middle Earth
