That all sounds like stuff claw's been saying, like stuff they've gotten from reading guides and having people from Twitter do coaching stuff.

And I'm like that's great but you gotta be able to feel some of this stuff out before you can apply any of it. I'd probably get more out of it myself if I had the patience to dive into it myself but like...

I don't know what moves are safe on block or not really, but I can feel out when it's safe for me to attack in the opponents string after some practice and which moves are fastest to use in those situations or otherwise put me into a decent position.

Yes that's what I'm saying about learning the situations. Even if you don't know the exact frame data for a string, you know that you can do your fastest attack and it will always punish (ie, the string is punishable by your fastest attack), it will always counterhit or be blocked (ie, the string is minus but not punishable), and vice versa. Obviously "feel" is important too, and some (even top!) players play almost purely by feel, but knowing the frame data will take the guesswork out of it.

If someone is just trying to randomly mash out in defense to try to get a counterhit, that's not playing smart or playing with frame data, that's just hoping to get lucky.

I think it's an issue where they are not able to read the screen as well as they think they can. Like what knob said. I think you can know the data but knowing it is one thing but implementing it is hard.

Personally I just know my fingers aren't fast enough to do serious competition so I rely almost entirely on feel and reading my opponent, against claw that gets me the w 9/10 times. Other people? Not so much. But sometimes.

It's not really mashing out that they are doing either really, they'll do a smart move but... Just a little early or late. Over and over.

Or I'll be able to bait them into thinking I'm going for one thing then just blocking instead. And going for the counter myself.

    That's a good point.

In 2D fighters with very fast frame data, like SF, a 3F advantage means you can get a guaranteed jab into combo, but you *have* to be on the ball to apply it in time.

Fishing for counter hits is the same principle but much riskier.

I can't believe Melee got Rollback before so many of these major current titles.

Like I'm not even that upset it is legit hilarious in a "The Universe really has a sense of humor" kind of way. 😆 🤣

I want a comic to do what the cowards wouldn't

And a slightly modified hulk Ryu scene where Ryu rides hulk to the elder dragon piece he catches then kicks Ryu away for momentum to land the mentor while Ryu fires a giant haduken Kamehameha while flying away and having hulk jump away, retrieve the low earth orbit Ryu, then return to T'Challa and monster hunter

It's a beautiful scene in my mind

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is $10 with the sale, and has crossplay with everything. $20 for the Collector's Edition which includes some bonus skins and the Season One pass.

Season 3 is expected to be released on July 14th.

    Wasn't Sigma DLC

despite being one of the main antagonists

(not to mention Black Panther and Monster Hunter being in the story mode)

Good job Capcom, how much negative press did you generate for the same thing in SFxT

the really silly part was how clear it was the dlc characters got a lot more care and attention than most of the main roster

MvCI is also a textbook example of fantastic in-combat animation crippled by bland art style and art direction.

    For platform fighting fans:
Rivals of Aether PC will be turning into the Definitive Edition (which includes all of the DLC characters) some time later this summer (alongside a Switch release).

When it does, if you own the base game you get the upgrade for free, regardless of if you bought DLC characters or not. If you DID buy DLC characters you get a special skin for them that lets you spray paint a customizable tag on the stage.

If you want everything for cheap, the base game is like $7.50 on Steam during summer sale. Buy now, get the DE free later. The DLC characters are on sale too.

    It’s a super fun game.

I remember ring outing myself soooooo many times learning Taki. You've gotta know exactly when you can and can't use the dodge rolls and acrobatics or you'll simply clown yourself.

Wiz tweeted an apology that I don't feel like posting here cause what's the point.

Very generic "I'm sorry, I was young and stupid and an trying to be better now" type shit.

I already didn't expect Evo to be back next year, but now I'm basically certain it's done. And honestly? Good. Blow it up and start over with new leadership and since actual fucking accountability, instead of a tournament run by someone who is only important cause they were the first.
