Wedding is done, masks lasted maybe into dinner before most guests were done with them. The dinner was individually portioned which was nice. But Fuck me even with the "no touching please"arm bands people kept trying to hug me and shake my hands.

It was probably really morbid but my wife and I kept referring to the steps of the Cha Cha Slide as the Corona slide since everyone was like on top of each other on the dance floor

    Friggity frick.

Looks like I gotta build a new pc which sucks. 99% sure my mother board has died and there doesn't seem much point in trying to bring the thing back to life when its pushing 5 or so years. Good news I guess I can scavenge its rotting corpse for the ram, gpu, SSD and fans and then I'd only need to drop big money for a new cpu, motherboard and case. I'll probably need to buy a new power supply just to be safe. Then later on I can upgrade my gpu and ram and maybe add an extra ssd, just to bring it up to beefy big game boy speed.

I don't want to drop 5 bones on an I9 CPU but it comes in a dodechedron box which surely indicates transcendental computing power. I would be stupid not to buy it and also offer unto it the first fruits and bull's blood on Lùnastal so that I may be blessed with the Max Turbo Frequency of 5.00ghz.

That is how computers work and none of you nerds can convince me otherwise it's all pagan mysticism in there none of it makes any sense.

I'm waiting for another big federal payout before I bite the bullet and purchase a new desktop.

My guy will be going on nine years this October.

My mobo/CPU combo also turns 9 this year and it still does just fine. I'm sure the noises it makes when I play Cities Skylines are a sign of contentment, like a cat purring.

You say six months, I say "oh sweet tax break for working from home"

Man, I wish I could get something like that.

Like, the actual improvement that I would need is a new apartment where I can have a dedicated office space, which overall I'm not even terribly interested in. But just the acknowledgment of that sort of thing would be nice.

So we have new neighbors in the apartment above and I have questions.

My wife and I were on our porch having a smoke and the two of them were on their porch talking. They seem young, college aged whatever. Then I heard

"I trust straight women as much as I trust straight men."

What does that mean? Are they saying heterosexuals cant be allies? I was so confused. It just got more confusing from there.

"You haven't seen drama till you've dated a hetmale"
Something about cisbi's not being real (sort of like how women aren't lesbians, they're just going through a phase)? I didnt think that was how the labels worked?

I realize it probably comes across as me mocking them but these are legit questions. The only real interaction with any openly LGBTQ lifestyle or people is generally on here so I'm not exactly well-versed in the intricacies, except for what I can research (and the only thing googling cisbi gets me is some sort of banking notations). So basically what am I not aware of here?

  • StraightziStraightzi Here we may reign secure, and in my choice, To reign is worth ambition though in HellRegistered User regular
I mean I don't generally trust straight people myself, so that first one makes sense at very least.

And yeah, heterosexual cis men are notoriously dramatic.

That third bit I can't explain or fully parse from the fragment provided, but it sounds like some garden variety biphobia, which is extremely commonplace.

Yeah I didnt pick out the full sentence, because it threw me for a loop.

I will willingly defer to those that know better on the first two points as I have no knowledge ( I am default RPG character) myself.

Sometimes all the most interesting people at the pub were smokers so even though I’m not, I’d still head outside to hang in the bitter cold so we could keep the conversation going

Yeah, there's definitely the audience aspect to it too. Like, I would readily say something along the lines of that first one around many of my friends, but I would be much less likely to say it if I thought that a straight person might actually be listening, because, well, one of the reasons I'm distrustful of straight people is because they tend to get very offended about the idea that I might not trust straight people.

My grandfather would use a pipe to smoke but other than that and the rise of e cigs I am kind of surprised they have not built a electric pipe
Still it was a house down the street from his house in the space of 2 years one of the people living there went from smoking by the door to the yard to the fence to not at all
Which coincidence with the general shift from smoking to non smoking

Not gonna lie, when I first read this I was thinking about a lead pipe.

Like, your writing is so bad that you gotta threaten somebody with a huge ass pipe, and then for some reason you have also written your story on the pipe.

    Anywho

We were planning on doing some stuff this weekend by now my wife has a sore throat so we're staying in.

It's probably nothing, and it sucks to be stuck inside all weekend, and monday is a holiday which makes it suck even more

but better safe than spreader I guess.

Her symptoms got worse so we went to get tested today

Well... She got tested. They wouldn't spend one on me because I don't have any symptoms.

Doesn't matter really, if she has it I have it because we can't isolate from eachother in our small apartment.

Now to try our best to keep our 2 year old inside until we get results 🤣

Really I know it's going to get ugly and quick. I am just dismayed how the federal level is so apathetic over this.

Personally I find it gross that the governor of NM whom poorly handled the pandemic by being AFK again says she is open to be the HHS cabinet seat
