Good afternoon, Camp Firewood! I hope you worked up an appetite during morning activities, because I can smell the burgers and ribs Gene is cooking up from all the way over here in the beehive. That’s right, it’s time for the end of camp barbecue, so get those tasty treats while they’re hot!
For those of you unable to tune in to the big game this afternoon, you missed a real barnburner. Not to mention my signature home run call, “It’s a Mazel Tov Missile!” Your rowdy band of misfits put up a good fight, but for the 14th year in a row, Camp Tigerclaw came out on top of the rivalry game, 11-7. Camp Firewood was clinging onto a 2-1 lead going into the fifth inning, thanks to a two-run homerball from Ben Rubinstein. But it all fell apart in the fifth, when Ashton Montgomery capped off a six-run inning with a two-run homer of his own. Camp Firewood tried for the comeback in the bottom of the ninth, with a two-out, two-run homerun from Leah Fineman, a.k.a. the Hebrew Hammer, but it was too little, too late. Even a trick play with the help from Gene, which appeared to involve dousing the opposition in leftover olive brine, wasn’t enough. Better luck next summer, Camp Firewood!

By the way, has anyone seen the Eagles? A little bee told me that they went rafting without Victor to guide them through the rapids. I hope Neil is up to the task!
