It's much better than nothing. Last time, Arin made the game too hard for his abilities to handle... and then got mad at the game for being unfairly too hard on him. I'm hopeful this will turn out like the resume of their Link Between Worlds playthrough in that better preparation leads to a less defeatist attitude while playing.

I'm still getting caught up by watching Billion Road. This game looks fun, I want to get it but not for $30. It reminds me of Fortune Street or Monopoly more than Dokapon.
The finale of Majora's Mask! ...is happening some other day. Instead, the Grumps try everyone's favorite Battle Royale platformer!
Speaking of which, I wonder if they are a little bitter about that. In an alternate reality, Girlfriend Reviews would be doing a delightful Soviet Jump Game song.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.
Oh man I am so very tired of seeing Fall Guys everywhere I go. But at the same time if people are excited by this then I'm all for it. This year has been hard enough... We need the simple joys again.
It's funny to me that both of those videos are marked as being an ad but they barely feature or even talk about the product in question. They set up a vague premise then abandon it entirely so they can goof around.
Hey, I was wondering if somebody could help me with my deteriorating memory. A couple years ago in a Grumps thread, somebody posted about another group of streamers that I got into for a bit. Now, I can't remember what they were called. The details I do recall; there were about 5 of them sitting on a couch, the 2 prominent were a couple, she usually did some cosplay relating to whatever game they were playing. I think they were Canadian. I think it was more review based than let's play. I think there was a stuffed mascot that also got a costume change for every game.
Sorry for the derail, but I've been googling forever without a sniff. Like I said, I'm pretty sure the Grump thread is where I was introduced to them, so it seemed like the best place to ask.

Probably Videogames AWESOME! from channel https://www.youtube.com/user/farfromsubtle. Sounds like them, they used to be part of Channel Awesome, however there are a lot of others that also fit that mold too.

I haven't been watching Game Grumps that much at all lately so I'm catching up via the Monopoly match with Supermega. I really like when these four get together for things, it's such great energy.
Has anyone here joined them in a Sovet Jump Game? I'd like to, but I think they only host them in the middle of the Friday afternoon, when work is still a thing.

The latest episode of House Party is the most insane shit and awesome. There's a TON of NSFW in it and then it goes off the rails.

Given how much trouble Arin is having at they very beginning of Hollow Knight, I really want to see him try and get the best ending. Considering that I think I was pretty good at Hollow Knight and I found that boss to be a fucking nightmare

He's doing a lot better than I did so *shrug*
I hope they stick with it. I think Arin will end up loving it.
Hollow Knight is really good. I was working on completing it, but I eventually got frustrated with the DLC boss (Nightmare King, I think?) and stopped. It'd be hard to pick it back up after so long, though.
I did get he basic ending and did save all the grubs, though, so I did something at least.
Yeah I tried HK after everyone telling me it's really good but I couldn't really get into it. I ran around for a couple of hours but nothing hooked me. It's one of those games that I'll try to get back into. Could have just been in one of those moods.
I loved HK, might be my GOTY for that year if i could remember time in a normal fashionany more. Which is why i wont be able to watch the grumps play it. I can understand why people dont like it, but as long as people gave it a shot then its all good.
I found HK far too punishing for my limited game time lifestyle. When I read someone describe it as "Souls-like", that was enough for me to stop playing. That mapping stuff was the worst.

Hollow Knight is an easier game than people let on. Also I hate the "souls-like" stuff people are throwing around lately because it's never accurate. It shares one trait with the Souls games; when you die, you have to go collect your money. That's it. Diablo 2 had a way of doing that too but it's not a "Souls-like" (even if it pre-dated the series). It's just a platformer where the combat is based on melee. There's ways to grind to get stronger / safer, like being able to fight from a distance and such. Yes it does get very difficult at times but what platformer doesn't? The hardest area in the game is completely optional.
As far as mapping your way around goes, it's admittedly a lot to have to remember and you can stumble into a lot of false-positives for progression
Sometimes i wanna tell people that like... it's okay to keep hand-written notes about games like this. You don't have to memorize everything, just have your learned info on hand.
It reminds me a lot of Warframe. It's a game with a ton of love poured into it, but they obviously had zero interest in polishing or improving any of the basics. Instead they just piled more and more and more content on top of a very flawed base system. If people enjoyed or could at least tolerate it, you got like 40 hours of content, so consider yourself lucky.
It's straight-up just a metroidvania except you don't have to reload a save when you die.
Yeah this right here is why I definitely thought it would be my jam. I should really pick it up again. When I played it I wasn't in a good place mentally (that and I should really play through FF7 Remake again for the same reasons).

It looks great and controls well. I just got stuck and had to quit or be endlessly frustrated.
