I could see a Shanks fight in an epilogue? Or maybe as a training arc or him testing Luffy. I doubt there will be animosity involved.
yeah no it'll be a friendly slugfest
laughing as they beat the shit out of each other like manly men
alternately shanks will be offed as motivation fuel for luffy but that would be lame but also that would be Oda's style, real tearjerker material there
I think fans would fucking riot if shanks died or did a heel turn
he has been in the top 15 on every poll, and top 10 on several

Nisekoi's ending was predictable but I liked that the message was about how it's ok to grow up and move on instead of tying yourself down to your past but hate how it doomed the ending to the shitty tsundere girl. Best romance was the side characters.

shanks is gonna fight Im, dragon is gonna fight akainu, and luffy is gonna fight blackbeard
Shanks would fight Blackbeard, Dragon would fight Im, and Luffy would fight Akainu if you split them up like that.
Blackbeard gave Shanks his three scars.
blackbeard has been set up as the antithesis of luffy since he was introduced
hmm, wouldn't Akainu be more of an antithesis to Luffy than Blackbeard? Akainu's dogma is the opposite of what Luffy wants, while Blackbeard is Luffy's ideals realized in an evil way
semantics!

Yeah Akainu is a dishonest upholder of ABSOLUTE JUSTICE.
Blackbeard is just Luffy's ideals but evil. They literally have a conversation at Logue Town about how the age of dreams isn't over.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I do still occasionally see comments about people pissed off that...
Ebino
...wasn't the chosen girl in Hatsukoi Zombie, and that series ended quite a while ago.

As a person who read the whole series, the funniest shipping wars to me was Nisekoi.
Mostly because the correct answer is "the guy is shit, the girls should just start a polyamorous relationship without him."
God, the meltdowns at the end of that series.
I read that a month ago or so and I also did not care for the ending
I didn't care for the length stringing out "main girl runs away for no good reason" part, but
they had been writing the main character as having emotionally moved on past his longtime crush for a LONG stretch there. I was rooting for those two the whole time, but she threw away her shot. Multiple times. Shit happens when you go full coward over and over again. I was against the obvious pick from the beginning, but both characters did grow and develop enough to where I'm fine with it, by the ending.
I think the best version of this rough emotional territory was in season 1 of ef: A Tale of Memories. The conversation across the closed door was really, really well done.

I don't do ships but the ending to Bleach still kinda infuriates me to this day. Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto and Hinata were too bland after the time skip for me to care. I did ship Luffy and Nami really early on until I realize that romance is not going to be a thing, ever.
Other than that I think the only relationship stuff to have crushed me was the one in 5 centimeters per second and Hotarubi no Mori e but they are movies not a long series
I really loved it. It's wondrous and curious and filled with lots of old folklore from all across the british isles in ways I don't usually see in anime (or a lot of western fiction too frankly). It got pretty grim and tragic towards the end there, but I am very pleased it ends on a cute and sweet note.
Finished season one of Mob Psycho 100. I enjoyed it. The fact that some of the jokes in the last two episodes felt like the entire show so far was setup for just landed really well for me.

MP100 rules, enjoy season 2! It’s one of my favorites since I started getting Too Into Anime over the last few years
That is extremely impressive but also I haven't watched OP in like 8 years. Is that guys power just All Fruits or something?
Mochi, iirc. So he spends a fair part of the fight just mimicking Luffy's attacks before he starts splitting off bits of himself as remote attacks and such (since mochi is moldable, etc).
Yeah I've had a bit of an anime summer. Still binging through a bunch of Gundam, have also watched Death Parade and Armorhunter Mellowlink alongside those.

He has the Mochi-Mochi fruit, which is basically Luffy’s power except stronger, since he uses it to not only stretch and attack but to morph into different shapes (like, Luffy’s Gatling attack has him attack so rapidly it looks like a thousand punches are being thrown, this guy can actually throw a thousand punches at once)
He can also transform the landscape into Mochi and control it. He also has an amazing level of observation Haki where he can predict almost anything a couple seconds before it happens.
It’s kinda nuts, and the stick fight was impressive to me because I have no patience to watch the anime so it’s really my first time seeing the whole fight animated!

That'd be one hell of a callback to such an atrocious arc

You mean a face turn? The guy I see punking Akainu is Kisaru, because he's a fuckin pyschopath.
I read that a month ago or so and I also did not care for the ending
don't you word at me
also kizaru still believes in a form of Justice(Uncertain Justice), dude is a wildcard though
he enjoys following orders and doesn't really like giving them though

Uncertain justice would certainly be kicking Akainu in the nards and then running away.
Chainsaw Man Ch84 spoilers
I don't disagree! I just don't like it

This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
god damn it
I thought she was going to be one of those childhood friends who would slowly fade away into the background
This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
Im still not sure he won't end up in a polycule
dragon also implies garp by necessity
also probably kaido? yamato seems to blood related.
So this wouldn't be wasted, here's an interesting speculation on what was up with Joy Boy, Laugh Tale, and Roger:

Akainu is just a leader of Marines.
Blackbeard is just another ambitious pirate.
Im is responsible for the entire world being regularly fucked.

A+ would recommend (with caveats)
