One of the "kids" (I think he's 19) in my composition class says Jurassic Park is the best movie ever made, so maybe the kids are alright after all.

I was at a zoo this year and one of the workers (looked about teenaged) came over to tell us about the bears. It was sat off behind some trees so I said "Is this the point you bring out a live goat to lure it over like Jurassic Park" and she said that the reference was lost on her as she'd never seen it and I died inside.

I like to imagine the sorts of people who operate zoos hate Jurassic Park like the devil and will spit on the ground if they hear it invoked

I'm very glad I enjoy their movies, because Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson are doing exactly what everyone else in Hollywood should be doing right now.

The trailer and poster just dropped for this btw. Very looking forward to this

The Endless is one of the best movies I've seen. They also get super points because they didn't decide that everyone in New Orleans sounds either Southern or Cajun.

Hey, so here's a puzzle for you guys. What are some good horror movies that are light on the horror and more heavy on spectacle and fun? I'm thinking like Feddy vs Jason or Jason X.. movies that have a horror aesthetic, but would be easier on my anxiety and where the gore and kills are more goofy than chilling or disturbing.

Dead Alive is the only movie to actually make me retch. Great movie, but so incredibly disgusting.

Tonight I watched David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers.

Jesus Christ, Jeremy Irons is amazing in it.

Also, this film doesn't make drugs look fun at all.

I find it so over the top and slapstick that none of it sticks - like absolutely no one is ever in genuine pain, it’s just rubber and goo. I get way more squicked out by people realistically breaking a bone. I also grew up watching Gwar movies so my tolerance for that stuff may be out of whack.
