Continuing across the fallen tree you eventually reach its branches resting against the now cracked outcrop overlooking Khali’s Cave.
Fragment skips ahead, taking off up one of the branches! You hear birds scatter above, tweets and caws of distress follow in their wake.
The fallen tree has done more than shatter the layer of dirt on the outcrop, it appears that the fall took a large beast down with it.
Half crushed, it’s definitely dead. It looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before, but something about it’s improbable design reminds you of the monster you encountered in Rogo-Rogo’s beachside home. The one Baber made contact with.
Also: It’s about this time I just want to remind you all Hado has two wriggly, curious dragonettes attached to his chest in cloth wrappings. Just visualise that.

Baber looks up after Fragment but shrugs and figures they'll be fine. Then they kneel down and look over the fallen beast and lay a hand on it for a few moments before getting back up. While they don't know what this beast was like, they do understand a little about the Vilelord's creations and how it might have felt.
Gear quickly manuvers down to the corpse. "What in the gouge..."
"Any of you know anything about this? heard anything like it? We've... seen something once. Me, Baber and Hado that is. Something like this, but..."

(Gear is attempting to determine two things: One - How did the beast die? Did the tree fall on it, did it make the tree fall? And two... what is it? What can she glean from it's biology? Working on the assumption Hado will happily Guidance me on both)
This monster died a sudden death. It’s crushed beneath the tree. It’s skull is caved in too, likely the fall did it. The body is cold.
It’s about as large as a giraffe. Even so, nothing about it suggests it can tear down a tree.
A little poke around reveals scorch marks beneath it. It’s blood is acidic. It could obviously take flight. It has sharp little teeth and tusks, but it’s mouth is not designed to rake big bites out of it’s prey.
Put your hand near it makes it tingle. Tiny electrical charges arc between your fingers and it’s flesh.
Intrigued, your allies come close. It does not do the same for them.
Gear stares watching the play of electricity. "My elemental is responding to it? Or is it responding to my elemental? My skin isn't conductive, so...."

Once she's got it hand, Gear holds it close to see if the electricity does anything to the metal

She's only going to harvest if the party thinks it's right and proper. She's also curious if anyone feels they should do burial rites for the creature, or leave nature to take it's course.

A tiny spark of electricity arcs through the weapon. This monster is somehow drawing in your elemental power. But such a small fraction it’s unharmful to you.
You don’t know enough about it to harvest anything from it, and it’s blood is highly acidic.
Its not that fresh. It’s hard to say. Could have died a week ago.
Baber kneels by the creature, whatever it was, and keeps their hand on it for a few solemn moments, their eyes turned down. Afterwards they stand up and brush off their knees, situate their backpack, and tell Hado, "I'm ready to move on."
The outcrop you’re standing on overlooks Khali’s Cave. Though naturally occurring, it has be worked roughly by a long dead culture. A shallow pond of clear water spills from the mouth.
You’re going to have to climb down the outcrop to reach it. You have at your disposal the means to do so safety, so this will not require a roll.
Gear: If you wish to you can grapple over to the top of a tree near the cave rather than climb down. Keep in mind as we go forward that you have used up the ability of your cloak to featherfall.
Once you scramble down, you find yourselves on rocky ground. Thin shoots break through where they can, but most of the ground is coated in free pebbles and igneous rocks. It’d be difficult to sprint across it.
The pristine pond leading into the cave is surprisingly quiet. Nothing is rippling it’s surface.
The dragonettes yip and chatter at the sight of the cave. Hado, you can sense their mood instantly; excitement!

Once per combat encounter you can use the breath weapons of the dragonettes on your turn.
The black one has this breath weapon:
Oil Breath. The dragonette exhales oil in a 20 foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, or become covered in oil. The oil covers the ground in a 20 foot line. The oil is flammable.
The white one has this breath weapon:
The dragonette exhales poisonous gas in a 15 foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 1d8 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The poisonous gas remains until the start of your next turn. Any creature that enters the space the gas occupies while it remains must make the same saving throw.

Shattering the still surface, a perfect ripple rings the pebble’s fall. A cloud of mud lazily rises and disperses across the shallow pond.
Edging closer, you see a number of dead water beetles have been knocked from their resting place. In the entrance of the cave mouth an upturned toad lies floating.
“The water is poison.”, Manini states flatly, instinctively puts a hand on their sheathed short sword.

From your vantage directly over the cave, you see that the pond is a new feature to the cave front.
There is a similar shallow pond up on the hill over the cave many yards away too. You note a pair of shattered boulders above the cave’s mouth, and realise the broken rocks all around may at least in part be from those boulders.
"Huh, I figure those carvings meant something like 'rest' or 'sanctuary' but if that water is poison then I doubt they're accurate any longer. Let's go check it out."
With that, they start walking towards the cave entrance cautiously

You pick the seal on the pack and flick out a card into your waiting hand. The card is pure white, hot to the touch, but as you stare ink begins to flow across it, forming an image as it cools.
Now that you pay attention to gear, you see something is... different about her. Her normally white porcelain has turned jet black. The god highlights and accents on her shell have turned into a simialry reflective blue, and the usual electric blue glow of her eyes (and these days, from the scarred crack running through right eye) is now a fiery orange.
When she catches you all staring she shrugs cheerily. "I drew a card from 'ere. It had some side effects. It's probably fine right?"
She seems WERIDLY more confident and charismatic now.
Manini pokes the water with a twig. They look up to Gear, stood handsomely on the treetop.
“Oh dear.”, they say, “I sense this is unwise, if you do not mind me saying.”

You see a spiralling cavern lit by a hole leading out to the surface, it’s jagged, slick walls crawling with leathery winged beasts. In a dark pool below them carcasses of animals float in the gloom.

After that card burns away the next inks itself into being before burning to cinders shortly after.
Royalty
A bejeweled crown forms over your head; it fits perfectly. It’s made of fool’s gold and painted stones enchanted to appear refined.
Increase your highest ability score by 2 until you next take a short or long rest.
“Well... well I mean, you’re great. I mean. It is great on you, is what I wish to say. In the sense that it looks good. On you. Anyway.”, they say, scratching their head.
Luce fans herself with the war fans you made. She raises an eyebrow at you, then shakes her head.
She regards you all, “I’m not the pro adventurers you are, but I say we boldly go into this cave and solve this little poison problem. The huge footprints are a matter for after we find a nice place to drop off the terrifying scaled babies.”

With a rope walkway and the taut cable of Gear’s crossbow at waist height (or thigh height for Hado) it’s pretty safe to cross.
You guys are used to climbing these days, and Luce is a trained acrobat.
