Thinking about it I agree too. I can only speak as a dude, but not being put on the spot potentially in front of co-workers seems good.
It literally only occurred to me today that texting her might be an option. I'd had it in my head that since asking face-to-face is scarier, it must therefore be the best way to do it. Which, I can see now that I've typed it out, is not exactly the most airtight logic in the world.

I have had some serious mood swings this week, which I think are my brain's way of preparing for anything.

I know it's hard not to get right inside your own head on these things ESPECIALLY if you've got the damned anxieties, but you're gonna be okay, she's going to have a good time with you, and from what you've told us she already knows you fairly well and is interested in dating you, so you're WAY ahead of where many people are when they ask someone out.

she was rather attractive and tbh it was just nice to talk to someone new after... not having talked to someone new in person in forever
i doubt we would get along well and i will prob never see her again (and perhaps I am too judgey) but
the pizza and wine was really good
and i ordered dessert even tho she said i'm not a dessert person but you do you so i did it and ate the tiramisu
then later, i was walking by the pier myself and staring at the city and it was pretty
and walked by the gelato place i wanted to try for a long time so i got second dessert by myself
that was good
also this girl tho, a lot more uh reckless about covid risks apparently, which i guess i didn't discuss with her beforehand but hopefully i didn't get it from her
or from any of the number of people i'd seen outside or just walking around
or give it to her or any of my friends! i feel kinda bad today! i got a test this morning but won't know till monday!

Well 2 of them are obviously about fucking, but in cutesy posh English. The third one is referring to the newly-revived TV show from the 80s called Spitting Image. I don't know what the second one is about but I imagine it's a conservative twat complaining or being smug about something.
About this time last year I had started seeing somebody that I ended up liking and was all "ah yeah this is nice I hope this continues." Of course it did not, obviously. And like, two or three weeks after it ended covid hit and boy howdy ain't nothing been good since.
I think the weathers got me in a weird mood. Its finally starting to cool off a little here, and we're getting some signs of fall. Everybody is transitioning into cozy mode and getting ready to enjoy all the fall things with their partners and families and such. And maaaaan, I kinda wanna be cozy, too.

Because on a cross-country trip, it's an uncrowded stretch of interstate with not a lot of cops.
I don't think I stopped to gas up in Oklahoma so it was a single fairly straight and fairly flat highway that was mostly empty (with the exception of near OKC) and I had the cruise control set at 85mph.
We should like, deconstruct Oklahoma and the Dakotas and free up America's inventory space. Maybe fold the mats into upgrade components for New Jersey or something.
