I used R/W party matters deck and steamrolled through mostly people playing the dinky colorless deck.

I just hit diamond 3 2 with dimir rogues.
I might actually be able to hit mythic this season for the first time ever.

Nothing like beating a scute swarm deck with their own swarm by the skin of your teeth because you didn't realize you had lethal if you had played your turn better.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

I THINK I LOST ONCE WITH THIS DECK SINCE OMNATH GOT BANNED
I AM SO HAPPY

I could probably tune it a bit better and craft some more Crawling Barrens, but it's fun to play and off the wall. Obviously, board into more removal against aggro. I've got so many people to kill my Myriad Construct with the Monument out. Thanks, I'll take all those 3/3's instead of one giant monster. They then shame concede almost immediately.
Hit Mythic again, then went to the Play Q for a relaxing game with my Rin and Seri cat deck. Got paired against RW Dogs. Probably the greatest two game sequence in the history of Magic.

I just hit Diamond for the first time in a long time and I might make a try for first-time Mythic, but I played through all of Platinum with RDW and I think I'm sick of that deck. Rogues definitely seems like my jam...
The good news is I am this close to diamond for the first time in months. The bad news it is with a rakdos Kroxa deck I stole wholesale from CGB.
Not sure how I feel about this.
If you want to win a lot of games in a competitive constructed environment you basically have two choices:
(1) Become incredibly good at the extremely challenging skill of deckbuilding. 90% of the time this will result in reproducing a popular meta deck, but a few cards off. 10% you'll end up with a successful rogue deck. Then, become very good at playing that deck.
(2) Copy a list that's been brewed and tuned by thousands of other players and get very good at playing that deck.
So sad after a few days of careful deliberate losing in gold 1 to make sure I didn't hit platinum I accidentally won 5 in a row and now am platinum 4 goodbye fun decks full of creatures to fight in all different styles. Hello netdecks.
I wish there was a way to play but get no rewards, maybe there i could find just endlessly random stuff to play against. There's so many different cards and decks out there, I wish I could face a bigger variety of them.
Things are a lot better with the bannings, but, I still wish there was a way to keep standard from getting stale in the digital world.

It is impossible to stay out of platinum if you play enough unless you lose 66% or more of your matches.

Don't play ranked.
Yeah, you'll have to deal with the terrible matching algorithm sticking you against similar decks a fair amount of the time, and diametrically opposed decks a fair amount of the time, but overall you'll see a greater variety. I usually do a handful of ranked matches each day until I get tired of seeing the same few decks and then I just mess around in the play queue to have fun seeing what kind of weird jank other people come up with and how my weird jank fares against it.

It's neither popular nor rogues?
I hadn't seen anyone else play Lurrus debuff enchantments

I play a very similar deck. Not exactly the same, but close. I've seen a growing number of people with Lurrus decks using Mire's Grasp and Dead Weight in Diamond lately, but usually not as enchantment-focused overall.

I see the confusion. A “rogue deck” is not a “Rogue deck.” A rogue deck is a deck that doesn’t fit into the meta but does work against it.

Maverick decks and Rogue Decks.

Sign up for a player draft using gems. After I make my first pick out of pack 2, my router and laptop enter one of their annoying feuds.
I wind up with a Mardu Party pile (5s/5p/6m basics plus 3 black MDFCs) but might as well play it out.
I'm currently 4-0 and will see how it finishes up tomorrow. *shrug*
Well I flooded out a couple of times and ran into some color screw (which was inevitable here but I mostly lucked out). But I did manage a couple of more wins!

I built a lurrus debuff deck based off the standard deck someone had posted here.
KetarCome on upstairswe're having a partyRegistered Userregular
This wouldn't work for ranked play, but I've been having a lot of fun in the standard play queue with this lately:
All creatures except for Offspring's Revenge. Lots of ETB effects, creatures that do useful things before triggering Winota, the Skyclave recursion which is useful on its own but more fun with Syr Konrad, and everything was put together just to make Offspring's Revenge fun and useful.
Also it gets matched up with mill decks a lot and those games are hilarious.

Offspring's Revenge would be pretty cool if it cost like, RWB.

Fair enough, though I will say that ideally the deck will replace some of the weenies with bigger threats.
I beat a RG, two colorless, and a GW.
