Midnight eastern, as in 22 minutes from now?

That is my understanding and what county officials are signaling.

Nate Silver is the five thirty eight guy who can't make pronouncements about various things at the moment due to obligations and affiliations.

But he did just tweet this:

I have no idea what the fuck this means.

What John Lewis would have wanted is to kick the madman in the Oval office out as fast as is humanly possible, ideally with as large as possible a posted vote lead so as to avoid any controversy.

No matter what gets announced tomorrow doesn't make Friday into January 20th.

Whatever happens tonight, or in the next week or month, he's not leaving before January 20th. (Unless he does try to skip town.)

I can't tell if he's being serious with that tweet.

Some right wing conspiracy type is going to use it as "proof" the election was "rigged" regardless.

I don't even know what this is supposed to accomplish once the election is over. Even if they plan on following through, this only gives her time to prepare in some way. This is what I'm afraid of though. Trump has a lot of clout with the alt-right even if he loses the election. There's too many dumb trump supporters with guns out there, and many of them are my neighbors.

We have more guns than our neighbors. The Right wants to start a civil war I think they're going to have some surprises about how soft a target some people are. Personally I'm skeptical that they're organized enough for that though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The "liberals aren't armed" thing always makes me smirk. I go to the range a couple times a month with a group of other very liberal dads. "Unarmed" would be a very poor adjective to use to describe the group.

There is a huge difference between "gun owner" and "ammosexual".

The latter group tends to the think the former group is part of their group.

    Which is *not* the case.

This is common across the entire conservative spectrum, and I'm 99% sure it's intentional. Both as a way of inflating their own numbers and as a deflection

On the senate, it's not completely lost.

Alaska might surprise us, but I'm a bit leery on that one.
North Carolina isn't lost, it more likely than Alaska, but I'd agree it's a long shot. That said, the Cunningham might pull off a squeaker.
I think both races in Georgia are going to run off, probably not enough votes left for Ossoff to not only overtake Perdue, but then break 50%. Though I might be wrong here. I fully expect GA to be crazy in the next two months and it's anyone's guess how things play out. Both sides are going to dump money into the races like no tomorrow because the Senate is at stake and a democratic majority means likely DC and PR get statehood next year, which would be a massive blow to racist ass republican party. Also I think the amendment that gives DC 3 ECs might be something that can be weaponized to murder the EC. AKA we'll repeal it now that DC is a state, but only if the EC gets shot and dumped into a volcano to make it happen.

Some other things in regards to the runoffs.
-Trump won't be on the ballot. Hard to say if the Trumpers will be pissed enough to turnout in spite or depressed enough they stay home. To make it even more confusing, the spite might be more directed at McConnell than democrats, if the rat fuckers feel McConnell betrayed Trump.
-That'll leave us with two months of Trump's rat fuckery in the lame duck and likely McConnell being a limp dick about it because Trump is the GOP at this point. I also see Mitch being enough of a shit, that he starts trying to create problems for Biden, in an attempt to make Biden a one term president.
-Healthcare, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the ruling on ACA come out in the next two weeks or was that just hearing the case. Anyways, the assholes republicans on SCOTUS might have blown up ACA at that point and that will be the focus of the race and lots of mention on how it was republicans that enabled it. So there will be a question of whether people want to give the GOP two more years to stonewall fixing it or boot the fuckers to make it clear hat wasn't cool and oh boy, could that challenge the agenda calendar quite a bit because it probably gives democrats a ton of capital to expand the court.

    To absolutely no one's surprise:

CBS News has learned that President Trump does not plan to concede even if Joe Biden declares victory in the coming days

CBS is a major news outlet.

This keeps alive my dream of watching him get bodily dragged out of the WH like his co-conspirator buddy Assange got dragged out of the Ecuadorian Embassy.

Having redeeming features would also open up the possibility for the media to criticize them without seeming to be as biased. Trump is objectively a garbage fire, but no one is allowed to actually say that about that popular of a politician so absolutely everything he does gets at least slightly glossed over.

We really need to face facts at some point that their batshit insane lying and shit is driving their turnout up and up. The MAGA cult is, to a great extent, the worship of power and authority, specifically that power and authority which is granted to the most important man they are aware of. If Donald Trump loses power, he will lose the respect of the MAGA cult. In addition, if he loses power, Twitter etc can ban him the next day because he's no longer a government official and at that point, how does Trump even talk to his base. Deplatforming has worked for everyone else after all, its hugely powerful, because angry cult members are also quite lazy and really are just responding to engagement algorithms, which will happily sheperd them along to the next angry white man, who hopefully won't be QUITE so angry.
