    Here the thing

Trumps going to be gone soon. After that we no longer have an obligation to address their conspiracy theories or bullshit. It was different when the president was the one saying it.

I want this to be true, but whether he's president or not, if millions of his supporters are still getting riled up by his insane ramblings, that's a big problem.

The GSA still has not signed the transition letter acknowledging Biden as President-Elect.

No one is quite sure what happens if they just... never do that.

I suspect that they will when the electoral college casts all the votes. Up until now it's just been the mature thing where a sitting lame-duck President 'acknowledges' their successor and so legally the funds can be released.

... no. Now that he's lost, they all rush to declare that they never actually liked him in the first place and they're really good people. This is every bit as opportunistic and self-serving as them associating with Trump in the first place, and it works because of credulous media types who assume that when someone admits they're a liar, that they must be lying to other people and not to the noble journalist.

If there's anyone locked in the asylum with Trump it's the entire country... or world, really... counting down the days until he loses the ability to use nuclear weapons.

Apparently the only time there’s been a delay of more than a day since the transition act was passed was in 2000 when there was an actual legal challenge.

The whole thing is super weird and Trump isn’t part of the decision at all which just makes it more concerning.

Then when president elect Biden becomes President Biden, he fires the head of GSA (something likely anyways) And possibly a hatch act investigation.

It’s a reasonable step though to make sure the votes are certified first, when the outgoing president isn’t conceding.

It’s something that could set him behind a bit. Although name and shame can be a good way to get things done.

    They’re... not handling it well

It’s wall-to-wall threads about how fraud was rampant and any day now *something* is going to occur to flip the election. Probably involves the Supreme Court. Or this is trumps plan all along. Biden has already lost and everyone knows it.

Also, wow, I knew they hated Jews and black people over there but, uh, dang.

They're no longer hiding behind total anonymity; the exact same rhetoric - the open calls for ethnic cleansing, summary executions, etc etc are taking place in Facebook groups and subreddits and militia forums. On tonight's John Oliver (Last Week Tonight), his coronavirus cheer up story about the rat erotica comes full circle, as he points out a website people can go to for Trump's legal team to submit accusations of election fraud to them to use to help Trump win.

Of course, election fraud has a slang term, ratfucking.

So, Oliver poses, if you have seen any explicit ratfucking, you should definitely submit a picture of it to Trump's legal team submission website. As a public service, of course.

Here is an snapshot of an update of the quality of the GOP court efforts so far, courtesy of Marc Elias, a Democratic lawyer:

Just to remind everyone--this is what the GOP produced to the federal court last week to support their losing case (yep, this is all, just these two affidavits).

This is one of the TEN loses the other side has had in court since E-Day (0-10 overall).

He's quoting a reporter who was covering one of the court cases live, but the tweet also includes pictures of the two affidavits submitted by the GOP to support one of their court cases. And by two affidavits submitted, that's not a sample of the GOP evidence, that's the entirely of the GOP evidence. Two affidavits.

The second one contained in that tweet deserves some unpacking:
    * A individual declares in an affidavit that he is a Trump Campaign Observer, and has been for the past two weeks.
    * While acting as an observer for the Trump Campaign at the Clark County election department, he wished to use his camera.
    * He was informed that, as an observer, the use of cameras was not permitted and that only media could use cameras.
    * He then states: "Since I was media, I informed them I was media, and sought to use my camera."
    * Remember, two paragraphs earlier in his affidavit he declared he was a Trump Campaign Observer.
    * Nevertheless, the Clark County staff directed him to the Media location so he could use his camera. Essentially, they accepted his claim that he was media and were in the process of directing him to the designated media spot so he could use his camera. He was not happy with this result, as "they directed me to another area of the location where I would not be able to fully observe. My understanding was that was for people who were only media."
    * He then went back to being an observer, with no camera. And then at some point all observers were asked to leave and so he left with the rest of them.

So to sum up, their affidavit is from somebody who wanted to disregard the rules set forth regarding both observers and media, and wished to have it both ways.

That's the entirety of the one affidavit. There was no declaration of any apparent vote rigging or irregularities, only that he was told he could not use a camera as an observer and that he did not like the solution of using his camera in the media place because he couldn't use it to observe.

    This is ridiculous

The other affidavit in the tweeted post, meanwhile, is helpfully summed up by the last point on the form letter:
    10. "The person I believe to be Joe Gloria advised me that to attest to the fact that a roommate possibly stole my ballot. Joe highly pressured me to attest to a lie."

Jill Stokke has already been shown to be a liar.

The "stolen" mail ballot was signed and filled out with matching ink, and matches her signature well. The in person ballot she wasn't allowed to cast WAS cast, matches the signature of the first even better.

The campaign has at least three others claiming the same thing happened to them, but all of them recanted that they must have forgotten casting their mail ballot when confronted with proof they'd in fact voted twice. Stokke is sticking to her guns, and I don't know how far blind old lady points will get her if she tries it in front of a judge.

I meant to write this yesterday(sunday), but for reasons I forgot to do so:

I woke up the day after it was official that Biden won, with an unusual sense of peace. Like a literal load was lifted from my shoulders. It was so unusual that I could not really understand the feeling. Like spending an entire day hearing construction noises in the flat next door and having it suddenly stop for the day. Even if you have managed to become accustomed to the noise and work around it the silence is such a blessed relief that it boggles the mind.

In the run-up to the election and its immediate aftermath I had such a sense of dread that I had to stop reading the news and posting in threads like this. Dreading reading anything that would set off my anxiety. To finally be able to let go of that dread... A dread I have essentially had in the back of my mind since election night 2016.. its still unreal man.

Its probably going to come back in the future, because the causes that made Trump is still there, but for now its nice to have some peace of mind.
