Georgia's electoral votes went to Biden. We can win the Senate races there. It's just a question of how, and are we willing to do what it takes.

Honestly D+5 to R+10 and anything in between seems plausible to me in that race. No fucking clue which voting groups will turn out over a holiday season without Trump actually on the ballot when control of the Senate is up for grabs.

we just have to assume it's the most important election left to decide, will literally determine the future of our society, and we have to do everything in our power to support the candidates and get out the vote

My gut tells me the Dems lose at least one race because it seems like the Fates have decided that no climactic ideological showdowns are happening this cycle.

Prove me wrong, Georgia! Prove me wrong!

Warnock is the stronger candidate and is facing the weaker of the two Republicans. I'm cautiously optimistic about his chances.

I'm less optimistic about Ossoff. He underperformed compared to Biden.
That means there were Biden/Perdue voters. Will those voters even show up for a special election? Turnout is usually much lower outside of November.

Also, Trump excited his base and turned them out. Will they bother with this without him?

Will Atlanta show up for this?

It's entirely unpredictable at this stage. Trump appears to be in the middle of setting his party on fire, and I don't mean with excitement.

Actually, looking at the numbers Trump and Perdue were nearly identical in the vote total. It looks more like there were a lot of Biden/Hazel (the Libertarian candidate) voters.

    (But not for long.)

This is going to be such a shitshow oh my god

I find this to be terrifying.

Loeffler is nearly as dumb as Trump and actually more ineffectual

Look at this as GOP on GOP infighting, which should temper your mood ;)

I imagine Fox news wants to go back to covering how the Democrats are so terrible instead of carrying water for whatever dumbass thing Trump said today. Because he says something stupid everyday, and it's tiring.

Also they have advanced metrics and likely lose viewers during trumps press conferences. If they can take a stand for integrity as well? Bonus. I’m willing to bet it’s a profit motive. Can’t show ads during a press conference, and people often don’t come back so it’s kind of Un-American to have the president use up so much valuable advertising time. And it looks like he’s going to keep having press conferences, like he’s setting a record and the big boys just don’t give a shit. Go peddle your wares to OAN.

Also, as mentioned, the news wing of Fox News exists to give legitimacy to the channel, so when their pundits say utterly batshit and false, they get a little extra boost if credibility.

Fox telling the truth now make it easier for people to believe them when they lie about Biden's evil socialist agenda or whatever.

Reverend Warnock is the senior pastor at MLK’s church

He has a PhD from a Southern school

He grew up in the projects of Savannah (more hometown cred) in a blue collar family

There should and needs to be a huge movement behind him that sweeps both him and Ossoff to victory- he not only checks a bunch of boxes for Dems, but checks nearly all of them for the GOP as well (except he’s not white...)

The good news is “senior pastor at MLK’s church” means white people can project their MLK fantasy persona on to him

It’s also a good turnout juicer for dems

Looks like even if the SC decided to say to exclude ballots which arrived after election day, PA stays the same.

There is literally no point to all of this shouting barring keeping Trump supporters angry/hopeful about nothing. The PA Supreme Court verdict doesn't change the election at all. In fact, basically none of the Trump admin efforts will actually be able to do anything as they effect such small numbers of total votes that it won't change a thing. He also has too much of a shotgun to this, demanding everything gets counted in some places like Arizona while trying to argue the complete opposite in PA. It's not a strategy that has any coherent thought or chance of working behind it.

Also I can't wait for Kayleigh to be fired. Her mendacious claim about those ballots is from the Republicans mad they couldn't have their observers right up next to counters and intimidate them or challenge everything. One reason the vote was so slow in places in PA was Trump supporting watchers challenging everything so much - even if it made absolutely no difference in the end. By the time the vast majority of Postal votes were being counted, which were massively democratic in nature, they were allowed to be close to poll watchers and so they really don't have an argument at all.

    In Stacey Abrams we trust.

Man, I hope so. Biden took the state by a handful of votes, and he outperformed Dem senators pretty much across the board. In both senate races, the number of people voting for Pubs outstripped the number voting for Dems, and by 10 points in the case of the special election.

If the electorate in the runoff looks like the electorate in the general, the Dems lose, plain and simple.

We're not doomed or anything, but getting even one of these is a longshot.

Wait, what? Like yes Warnock alone ran 10 points behind Loeffler/Collins combined, but there were many more people in the election and the next four Dem candidates or so were a total of 13.5% of the vote. Looking at the results that show up on google, adding up the percents of Dem candidates gets me something like 48% of all voters with 2.3% or so going to independent/green/libertarian candidates. I don't think Warnock's in as bad shape as you imply here.

Meanwhile Abrams' "hey, we can win this with your help" pitch raised 6 million in a day. Weird.

Georgia's Secretary of State is saying:

    1) Yeah, Democrats in Fulton County definitely cheated, because they're black (OK, that part I'm reading into his statement, but he did say there was cheating).
    2) That wasn't enough to swing Georgia.
    3) I am not resigning.

Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.

If you're getting a lot of texts or calls you can text "stop" to stop texts, and if you say "take me off the list" you won't get calls. From like those specific things, obviously you need to do that for each of the folks using whatever list to contact you. Hanging up or not responding will just get you texted/called more.

I also think the DNC ones have a very like desperate email to rile up older folks vibe. Lots of capital letters and timers ticking down. I'm not a fan, the Biden campaign text stuff was a lot more positive and excited.

The sensible thing is to make as large a donation as you are able at gasenate.com if you are able to donate, and to otherwise get to work on a phone bank or one of the other activities Stacey Abrams suggests!
