keep in mind, there's no shame in just running past enemies. They throw a LOT of difficult fuckers at you in this section and it's very hard to isolate them enough to fight them one on one.
I have more fun watching someone who knows what they're doing playing FromSoft games than I do playing FromSoft games.
Can anyone recommend a good let's play (or whatever that sort of thing is called these days) for Sekiro?
This reminds me. I streamed a bit of dark souls remastered the other day because my friend wanted to see what it was like. Got past the taurus demon but don't feel like it was super representative of what the game is like for first time players since the first time I played ds1 it took me 12 tries to beat that fucking thing and I made a joke out of it in less than a minute this run.
GOLD PINE RESIN?! who needs it?! It seriously never even hit me, and I killed it in three hits.

speed runs of sekiro are like 75% running past all the enemies

You ignore like everyone who isn't a boss that you need to kill for whatever category you're doing.
The lack of a proper Boss Rush or Boss Select is criminal.

You talking about great shinobi? He's really tough
Part of the trick is just to stay on his ass. You can knock him out of a lot of his attack animations, in a way that you can't for most bosses, and his speed and stupid long reach aren't as big of a deal if you keep him in close quarters and drive him into the corner

There's a mod for the game that gives you a boss select, and it's kind of amazing that it works so well and so easily, but it kind of prevents you from playing the game normally which is a bummer
Sometimes I just get the itch to fight the final boss again, and I'd like to be able to do that whenevs!

abused the heck out of Ichimonji, maybe even the double version. The Hirata version of that fight is easily my favorite in the game. After you figure him out and get on equal footing with him (so, like, 30 deaths later...) it's an incredibly satisfying fight. I may need to replay this game...

New ability to make Remnants. These allow you record 30 seconds of game play that get sent to other players games where the other players can rate or comment on them. Similar to when seeing a bloodstain on the ground in Souls and seeing how that player died.
Not bad for more stuff for free. Especially considering From said no DLC for Sekiro. Expect it at the end of October.
-Boss Rush Mode
-3 Alternate Costumes
-Ability to record a few seconds of gameplay and let people see your shadow in these segments in their game world.
This is incredible. I spent longer then 4 hours just earning the final skill points after I had already finished every other trophy.

Just picked this game off after putting it down forever ago because I hated the cursed priest illusion fight.
Now at the boss of the game, but my hand hurts a lot from my doggo chewing on my knuckles so i can’t play anymore
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I fled from a scary purple guy on top of a cliff in Hirata Estate. I fumbled about and fell of the cliff, but managed to bounce a bit on the way down and live.
He chased me and did not bounce. Clearly my martial arts are better.

As far as I can tell I have a choice between two bosses I am having a lot of trouble with:
Lady Butterfly ang Genichiro
Is there anything I else I could be doing before them? I can always grind out more xp to add more skills, but is there some optional boss that I should be doing?

you could go to the senpou temple, straight through the abandoned dungeon
the first big monk encounter gives a lot of xp for that part of the game. there's also a boss and a miniboss there you can access.
also you can return to the ashina reservoir where the game started, if you haven't already, there are some minibosses and collectibles there you can get
I started this again a couple of weeks ago for something to do, and this time I can confirm I actually did achieve total victory.
It's amazing how different an experience the whole thing is for the second time, a game with perhaps the best combat system of all time in which you spend as much of it as possible trying to avoid getting into a direct fight with anyone.
