love when your support abandons you at 8 minutes because you didn't play something exactly how they wanted (somehow they think i didn't autoattack for literally 20 seconds in a teamfight).
playing as a solo bot laner in normal queue is just truly awful, random 4 mans are just horrible to play with, insanely toxic 100% of the time. it's the worst experience in league.

Played a normal draft with my friend and brother. I got auto filled to jungle and really wanted to try out a Maokai support build so I switched with my friend and laned with my brother as Trist and holy shit it was absolutely brutal. We completely demolished a Kaisa/Lux bot lane and I was able to make sure I let my brother have all the kills. Our midlane quit the game at level 3, no idea why but he died twice against a mid Jhin who got a gank the second time.
We still ended up winning. My friend was playing as Udyr and our top was Zyra and we were able to protect my brother as he absolutely melted the enemy team out of existence. It was disgusting. I am really digging this support Maokai build. I somehow ended up with second most kills and third most damage behind Zyra at second and my brother at first.

Lucian mid is my nemesis. I think that the couple adcs mid i've reliably seen are the early lane bullies. Against assassins they can usually dodge things and trade well and against mages they can push really far forward and bully because you just don't have the damage to take them on early.

Lucian I see all the time mid, that wasn't a huge shock. But I've been seeing freakin MF mid a lot, which doesn't seem to fit the usual mold.

I play a mean Jhin mid but I've only ever played it in flex because it feels so non-meta that it might tilt my teammates.
I'm also decent at Lucian mid, but again too chicken to play it in real ranked. MF would feel good mid as well--you're quite strong early and very fast if you need to walk back to your tower when you get ganked. Longer range than Lucian for some possible free AA harass, too (and doubleup harass is generally very free/long ranged as well).
I do think there is a problem with playing an adc mid in soloqueue, depending on the enemy team and your team. Generally the midlaner serves a role that an adc mid can't really (providing pick and/or assassination), and if you fail to provide either that independent split pushing/roaming pressure or the teamfight utility, you aren't doing what you tacitly agreed to by selecting mid. It can also be a problem if the enemy has a tank or two and your team picked, like, Lucian and Kha'zix and Tryndamere, and their tank can just build thornmail.
From a laning perspective though, if you are comfortable on ADC, ADCs mid feel great into basically all matchups early, although some become really dangerous as 6 (but still not as dangerous as it is for you as a level 4 adc bot when mid is 6).
I've been playing other games instead of league (!!) for a few days so I have not witnessed any ongoing meta shifts/dunno if you just got a weird random sample of games or not.
ap mf mid is mostly a meme that is effective early because her E poke is basically undodgable and has decent base values if you max it quick but you get the absolute shit scaled out of you. it's a pretty awful pick. sub-45% wr.
most of the viable mid adcs are the sort with a mobility skill and huge burst (trist/lucian), otherwise you just get absolutely dunked on by assassins or mages.
also re: playing other roles, no it's very painful. I grinded enough games on adc last season that my elo is at my true skill, and i have a truly terrible winrate on anything else right now. playing adc isn't like playing any other role, and i'm going to have to lose hundreds of games to get to my true elo at those other roles because i'm significantly worse. i'd rather just quit.
i used to have a support duo that made playing the game fun, but he's mostly stopped playing since the season ended, so the crapshoot of random supports plus the absolutely horrible state my OTP is in (jinx) keeping me out of ranked, I am not having any fun generally no.

Hm. The most recent patch changes have made it be a bit of a ? wrt my swain builds. Need to test things out, see how I feel.
But Galio with the turbochemtank or whatever it's called feels amazing.

Make a smurf account and don't play botlane on it unless you get autofilled, and don't buy Jinx on that account.
I was in the same position as you a couple seasons ago (frustrated with playing botlane but hyperspecialized and unable to learn other lanes cause my elo was too high and I would just feed in a solo lane or play mega safe and feel stressed out). I made a smurf and committed to only playing mid and top on it, and really came to enjoy mid. That account is still a full division elo-wise below my main, although I think if I played on it more I could get a bit closer, since I've gotten so much better at mid.
It's *way* faster to level to 30 than it used to be; consider it! And if it embarrasses you to be in whatever elo the account ends up being at, just don't tell anyone the name of your smurf and feed/learn in happy anonymity
Something I’ve been hearing the rounds is the return of AP Twitch Bot/Support. The AP ratios on his E and the slow on his W, coupled with the new items (especially Nashor’s) can hit like a truck. Anyone had a chance to take it for a spin?

I think I've found a new level of relaxation I hadn't thought possible in a MOBA. Janna in ARAM. Just press that Q button on cooldown and let it fly. When we won I had about 90 ability haste so it was like a 3 second CD. I call it Tornado Alley.
Sure, sometimes someone on my team needed saving so I had to risk getting into W range to get E off cooldown, but still. Very good chill ++ can recommend.

duskblade brand brought a dub because nobody expected to get slowed before u eq them by the auto, which was funny. also ur ult guarantees about a million stealth procs. obviously optimal i recommend

i have played against a few ap twitches
they are a damn nightmare, huge burst of damage off the E. typically they run hail of blades to get a bunch of autos in early. i tried it and it was miserable, but that's because i don't really ever play him i think.
it's not like pick or ban, but when you see an enemy twitch don't sleep on the damage.

The problem with it is that without your E, you cant kill anyone. The true damage stacking from your passive is amazing though. With your E, you are an amazing assassin. Your laning still sucks and you need a tanky person to hold the enemy while you kill them before you get a couple of items.
Man, why is it that the only champ I can do the big 20+ bot game killfests with is one I A) have barely played before and one considered weak right now?
(Xayah being the champ in question)

Finished the set of star guardian missions. The last one can be completed by winning a game using a star guardian skin and luckily the pajama guardian skins count for it so I was able to throw down with Ezreal. Divine Sunderer is kind of gross on Ezreal.
Anyone who mains mid want to help me practice Qiyana by beating my ass while I try to figure out how to not be bad with her?

Fiora S rank Hextech Chest still eludes me, despite me trying to main her and playing something like 50 games with her last month.
Meanwhile, I keep getting S ranks at champions I do not main, which are Leona (okay, I main her a little when I autofill as support), Nasus, Ahri and Sett (for Sett, I got S- at my third game with him), and two of them I got today.
Results of opening 2 Hextech chests today:
Soul Reaver Draven (I do not have him, I do not play ADC)
Riven champion shard + bonus Chest + Key
Infernal Amumu
Not bad!

Two games as Qiyana so far. First against Veigar and second against Neeko. I got completely destroyed both times. It was not even close. Basically couldn't stop feeding.
Third game I got help from the jungler for once and went 24/6/6 but since I don't really know what I'm doing had a lot of stupid plays and we still lost.
I think I'm giving up on Qiyana. Too many champs just seem to absolutely wreck her early on and all I can do is sit under tower missing out on farm. I can't figure out how to survive and stay relevant.

TL;DR I know I said I was gonna switch back to support this season, but for some reason I am straight gelling with Xayah.
Longer version: The only reason I even tried her initially in bots was because my wife had to do the Rakan mission (she only plays bots). She was super fun! I spent a bunch of time practicing with her in Practice Tool and bot matches, then went Normals.
First couple of games went as expected while I learned how to hit Bladecaller on people. Then, it started clicking. Next couple of games were weak early but starting to snowball when we won.
Last game was an utter blast. I lost lane early vs Samira/Soraka to several Warwick ganks and Sylas roams in a row, but my Sona roamed and got our Fizz fed while I happily farmed safe under tower. Then I got my Mythic, we picked a fight near Dragon, and I scored 3 quick kills, and it was off the the races.
She's the first ADC I've tried that I can consistently score over Silver averages on CS (using Blitz CS tracker), and I can do it while keeping my vision and KP high, and having an utter blast the whole time. I never play more Ranked than just my placements, but I am seriously considering whether this might be the season I go for gold. I can't stop wanting to play Xayah.

Qiyana is very weak for first time and low elo players. She does ridiculous damage when you know how to use her to push and roam and do her combos. if you can't, she's trash. They had to make her very weak in lane because pros were just dominating with her. She's like Azir where high elo players make her work but low elo players just feed.

Yea, I noticed how crazy the damage was in the game where I got 24 kills. I just can't usually survive the laning phase well. I've laned against Veigar, Neeko, Teemo, and Rumble so far and each was so depressingly one sided. Only reason I even ended up beating Teemo was because of really good ganks.
I worked on the combos for Qiyana in a practice game, I realized I wasn't letting any auto attacks go through with the main combo and the difference between no auto attacks and doing auto attacks was pretty impressive.

What I love most about ARAM is that when people start tilting/talking shit, most of the time both teams are like "WTF dude?"
You play ARAM because you have accepted that teamfighting all the time is the only thing that matters, not because you want to make silly numbers go up.

Is there a delay using the smart cast option that shows the range of spells? I feel like stuff wasn't going off right away or really at all.
Went against a Zed in mid. I did poorly but not as poorly as the other champs I've gone against. I hit 6 and pushed out the lane and roamed to get some kills and I played significantly more safe from levels 1 to 3. It is hard to go all in on Zed when he can AoE hit me and just dash away.

I mean, there is a delay in that it fires on release and not on button press.
League is a source of frustration to me on this because I cannot set up how I want my abilities to work for each champ, I just have to make do with global settings and either change them every game or keep the settings the same.
That and the visual indicators for where a spell is gonna hit are kinda ass

Ah, the release part is probably where I'm fucking up. I think I'm just gonna stick to normal smart cast. The smart cast with ability range kind of fucked me up on a survivable kill and I ended up dying cause my ult wouldn't go off.
How do people have that much essence? I only get like 50 a day.
Personally, I break down every champ capsule content(s) when I have zero interest in the contents. I'll also use excess event tokens to get even more random champion shards that I'll then break down into ever more BE.
Even then, I almost never have more than 10k on hand.

She’s secretly actually really good right now. She’s a good counter-pick to short-range teams, too. Her damage buff is actually kinda ridiculous, and her root can change the tide of team fights.

i was really hoping for them to do something to runaans. 3400g is just absolutely backbreaking for jinx's builds. RFC buffs are nice I guess but at this point I haven't ever bought it anymore even though it was my stone cold 3rd item unless I needed PD, because these days you have to buy mythic, hurricane, and iedge before you can hurt things at all, and then probably an LDR to have any shot against tanks and then the game's probably over. I really hate the new item system for jinx, the character to me is Hurricane + Rapidfire Cannon and not being able to really ever get them together sucks so very bad.
I really wish iedge was a mythic. Mages still feel the same to play, assassins still feel the same to play, tanks still feel the same to play, but my adcs just feel so wrong because none of the mythics are "right" for how I've been learning to play characters for so long. I've been thinking about it and I think that's my biggest problem. ADCs just don't feel the same because their mythics are unlike anything they rushed before. Almost all ADCs rushed one of IE, BotRK, and ER, and none of those 3 items have any real equivalence to the ADC mythics, and it just feels terrible.
I honestly just don't think the ADC mythics are fully baked, they should have gone the way the mage mythics are, where certain champions always pick certain mythics no matter what the goals for the system were. Should have been one for crit AA focused champs (Jinx, Caitlyn, Aphelios, etc), one for spell focused champs (Lucian, Xayah, Jhin, etc) , and one for on-hit champs (Kog'Maw, Vayne, Kai'sa). The role just can't be pushed toward the same items in a healthy way like tanks or assassins or fighters can. Mages have the same problem, burst mages want Ludens because it's more damage up front, aoe dps mages want Liandries because it's more dps on the back end or split over lots of targets. Nothing Riot does is going to change that unless they massively over/undertune the items.
All in all, it feels like they're trying to shove 3 different sized pegs all through the same hole, and the adcs that come out the other side with the fewest edges shaved off are the only ones that manage to feel good.

dont see that changing
sure sure, as you said though that didn't change at all. my problems aren't around the role as such, I mostly have internalized the pain of playing adc and some of the most fun I had in league ever was just spam queuing bot lane at the end of the season, 1/7 assassin oneshotting me through a lulu ult and all. I just don't feel like they preserved the identity of how these champions play through the mythic changes, which I don't think is the case for the other roles.
edit: like in the post today about the changes, there is a riot person talking about how hurricane is supposed to be a late game purchase now. personally i just don't understand that theory, it's incredibly core on the champions that use it. like if your champion has a unique particle effect for hurricane bolts, it's probably too important to skip 2nd item. riot just doesn't know how adcs are supposed to work i guess? it's just painful to play right now because champions are designed to work around certain item interactions and those options are no longer available. it's the same reason twitch is in the absolute dumpster.

Yea, I rarely use the champ shards I get since I have a majority of the champions or I already own all the champs I find interesting. I have considered buying RP and buying the rest of the champs though just in case I ever feel like trying something completely new but that would be $200 in RP and I really don't think it is worth it to drop that kind of money on a passing interest that might or might not come up.

I've been playing other games instead of league (!!) for a few days so I have not witnessed any ongoing meta shifts/dunno if you just got a weird random sample of games or not.
most of the viable mid adcs are the sort with a mobility skill and huge burst (trist/lucian), otherwise you just get absolutely dunked on by assassins or mages.
also re: playing other roles, no it's very painful.

I dunno I ban twitch every game because at my Elo nobody knows how to play against him.
Sure, sometimes someone on my team needed saving so I had to risk getting into W range to get E off cooldown, but still. Very good chill ++ can recommend.
also duskblade quinn is genuinely good tho probably not under those conditions
duskblade brand brought a dub because nobody expected to get slowed before u eq them by the auto, which was funny. also ur ult guarantees about a million stealth procs. obviously optimal i recommend
i think this is the only jayce quadra ive ever seen where i dont land a single skillshot the dangers of beverage

also i have discovered an iron law of nature: if u see somebody talking shit in aram, they are either gold 3 or gold 4. why is this? i have no idea, but its literally held true like 5 times in a row so i dont question it
i have played against a few ap twitches
they are a damn nightmare, huge burst of damage off the E. typically they run hail of blades to get a bunch of autos in early. i tried it and it was miserable, but that's because i don't really ever play him i think.
it's not like pick or ban, but when you see an enemy twitch don't sleep on the damage.

The problem with it is that without your E, you cant kill anyone. The true damage stacking from your passive is amazing though. With your E, you are an amazing assassin. Your laning still sucks and you need a tanky person to hold the enemy while you kill them before you get a couple of items.

Anyone who mains mid want to help me practice Qiyana by beating my ass while I try to figure out how to not be bad with her?

it's fun!
Not bad!

I just dusted all my champion shards since the last one and I made 110k
once you have all the champs if you play 3-4 games a day you will just level up fast enough that the damn shards are everywhere
