Vista Bluescreen

Recently my Vista computer has starter dying on me for no apparent reason. I try to use the "Check for a solution" thingo, but it searches for 10 seconds and shuts down, no explanation. Yes, I know it usually doesn't work, but it provided me with a fix that made V:tM:Bloodlines run, so it can't be all bad.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

    Bad RAM has caused the only bluescreens in Vista I have ever seen. I'd run memtest86 to see if that's it.

    My previous desktop had wiring issues with a molex connector and I was able to bluescreen vista by just reaching in and messing with the wire.

    Vista is sensitive to hardware problems. VERY sensitive. Try running the vista memory tester, or if you have a copy of Knoppix type "memtest" at the boot command.

    I've been getting BSODs with the exact same error message as you and memtest86 told me my RAM is bad.

    EDIT: I noticed a slight difference in our error messages. 1 and 2 are identical, 3 and 4 are different. Last time I just checked the first two (sorry!).

    Still run memtest86, though--I'm guessing it's your RAM.

    For what it's worth the generic Zydas WiFi dongle drivers from codejunkies made my Vista blue screen like crazy.

    Try googling Vista c2 0x7 (or 0xc5 0x7). Vista error codes are essentially the same as XP codes, just written out differently. Even if you find the right error, it might not lead to what is causing it. It could just be a corrupted driver, or it could be something more serious. Apart from testing the ram, I'd download the manufacturer's hdd utilities and test the hard drive as well.
