Well I'd say you'd bring in an avenger less to fight her and more to convince her what she's doing is wrong. Honestly Banner would probably be the best for that considering of all avengers who knows what its like to run from your problems and just let your emotions control yourself.

And then if shit goes wrong hulk could in theory survive her rage.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

That is something to wonder, like her power works on objects, but the people there in were mostly preserved to what they looked like. What if you had someone like Hulk who fits no time period? They kind of missed the best time for this because they are past the 70s and they could have had modern hulk become Lou Ferrigno hulk.

The Corman FF film isn't awful given the budget. And it's probably the best live action Doctor Doom.

Where has this idea come from that Wanda can solo Thanos and all the Avengers?

We already saw for sure that she could solo Thanos and, by that metric, she should be able to defeat any of the other Avengers solo (the one definite exception would be Danvers, who was beating wholesale Thanos ass in 1v1 in melee combat no less; Strange might be a match too). The Avengers as a team? I wouldn't count on that, she's just human-tough and one punch could knock her out. Only a matter of time before she gets distracted and all it would take is one passing hit from Sam or whoever to end the fight.

Thor is displeased everyone forgot he did kill Thanos.

    My theory on Vision:
X-Peitro calls him a popsicle, and in an earlier episode when Wanda looked at him for split second she saw his discolored, dead body instead of him alive. I think the dead, discolored version of Vision is what he really is without the illusion, and since Pietro is a similar construct to whatever Vision is, he sees the real vision. Vision also has an all white costume sometimes in the comics, so it's possible we might end up with some kind of unsettling undead white/gray Vision in the MCU after this is all done.

Also kinda unsettling that Vision minus the mind stone is very close to just being Ultron. I would not be surprised if we got an Ulton appearance in this. Wouldn't be surprised if the SWORD director's plan was to try to create a controllable version of Ultron using Vision's body.

Also that toaster is a face and Stark helped build Ultron and bring Vision to life -- or specifically Jarvis.

What if the experiment/goal here by whoever is behind the scenes is to re-make the infinity stones? They've already said that the radiation that's there is the same stuff that created them.

Hawkeye is maybe the best possible person to have talk to Wanda but I guess he won't because they can't afford him. Looking forward to the dumb reason they have for that.

He came out of retirement to rescue her once.

    I mean, it's Disney

The list of people they can't afford if they want them is probably very small and has more to do with the actor not wanting a role than them being too expensive for Disney.

For crying out loud, how absurd do these layers get? The worst part is that this stuff is so damn obvious once somebody points it out. I feel amazed and vaguely insulted at the same time.

But it's pretty great to have an MCU show that's willing to play up such a crazy premise and so totally commit to it, with no urge to rush things. Definitely not something I would've ever expected after that first time watching Iron Man 1.

They have Disney money. They could bring in Walt Disney's reanimated corpse if they wanted to.

By that train of thought, there are 6 stories and 9 episodes.

So suddenly I’m even more curious about potential commercials in episodes 7 and beyond (assuming that shtick, err, sticks).

Quick one from a non-US viewer here... the ‘80s style in ep5 was obvious enough, but were there any major sitcoms it was riffing on? It didn’t really make me think of anything in particular, in the way that the previous time periods had a few obvious connections, but that could just be because I’m not as familiar with the TV of that period.

The thing that seemed most noticeable was the change in laugh track - it was much less overt in this episode. Was that the kind of thing that family sitcoms did at this point? Cheers is probably my only reference point, and that was pretty laugh-heavy.

There was also more... sentimentalism, I guess is the best word? Was this also the kind of thing family sitcoms did back then, or was this because it was a “Very Special Episode”?
