Watched the first couple of episodes of that Falcon/Winter Soldier show.
That thing's kind of a mess, innit? Takes way too long to get going, the tones never quite mesh, it's frequently very boring, its worldview is somewhere between "ambiguous" and "incoherent," the action's kinda boring.
I was pleasantly surprised enough by Wandavision and Invincible that maybe I inadvertently set the show up to fail, but man, just could not vibe with it.
It feels more like the Marvel Netflix shows where its all build up to a season finale climax.
Jason Mantzoukas in Close Enough would be my pick.
Really?
I love Zouks in EVERYTHING
I don't think he's bad in other stuff and I get why he's the go-to for manic energy, but we're just not on the same wavelength normally. But in Close Enough that energy works for me.

yeah I'm gonna stick with it for now but it's too enamored of the US military to be able to generate a coherent statement about any of the stuff it's trying to criticize so far

I lost all interest in American gods after Orlando Jones got the ax for bullshit reasons.

This surprises me, since F&tWS is tackling systemic racism well enough I thought.

I saw the first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and though I liked Sam's scene at the bank and the exploration of how guys like Falcon actually get by, I largely found the episode boring and couldn't watch the whole thing in one sitting.
What really stood out to me was how the big action sequence from the beginning of the episode was just complete hot trash. Nothing looked like it had any weight or moved consistently. Somebody smarter than me would know: was that bad CGI or will that kind of sequence just always look fake?
Honestly just, like, an entire show about some dude what works at the hall of records or some shit and has to deal with people getting blipped back in and all of their property and stuff could be very interesting.
That's...the end of my idea, really. Thanks for listening.

Rick & Morty Season 5 trailer. Shut it off after the first couple jokes; a bit too spoilery on the plots and at this point you either like RAM or you don't.

Jason Mantzoukas single handedly pushed an episode of Nailed It past "barely tolerable" to "actually enjoyable," so for me the man's a superhero.

Halfway through season 8 of Letterkenny and I think season 6 is the low point of the series for me. Still funny, but not terribly memorable. 7 had some great bits and 8 seems to be shaping up to be pretty good as well.

I'm rewatching the first season of The Knick right now; just finished Get The Rope.
It's still a great show, everyone says that and knows that, I don't really have much smart people insight or dumb hot takes to add to it .
One thing I do want to mention is some of fight scenes, particularly some of Algernon's alley brawl fights - there's a lot of violence that is filmed in a way that's not like, "realistic." It's close ups on his face while he's throwing a punch, some blurry camera work of limbs, that sort of thing. But I really like it as a take on how to portray violence, because I don't think it's actually any less realistic, it just focuses the lens of realism on the actor's emotional state rather than pulling in a stunt guy who can really nail a right hook. Combining that with the show's unflinching gaze at physical injuries makes for a really neat depiction of violence as a whole.

Also at this point I think Bryan Fuller might just be bad at running shows.

Careful now, or every Powerpuff Girls will be Christoph Waltz.
Chloe Bennet is half Chinese and (I believe) Yana Perrault is half black, so there already is some color.
But yes, make this show as diverse as possible.
