Bolgia 9, with the sowers of discord. There's a giant demon with a sword whose only job is to hack up those who were "ready to rip up the whole fabric of society to gratify a sectional egotism," which seems almost too on the nose.

IIRC limbo is in Hell but it's the nicest part of Hell.
What circle would you put him in?
Malebolge, the 8th circle; Bolgia 10, in the subdivision for liars, imposters and counterfeiters.

Papal Pornocracy is the most un sexy thing I've ever heard in my life
It was a weird time, when convents still occasionally doubled as brothels and the most venal jackwagons this side of Rodrigo Borgia sat on the throne of St. Peter.

Anyone else ever read that wild Heinlein book where some asshole went to hell and went through some weird 70s version of Dante's Inferno with Mussolini as his Virgil?

Yes, though it's by Niven, not Heinlein.
Dang, you're right. Turns out I was getting it confused with Job: A Comedy of Justice. Which also includes the devil, but he turns out to be pretty cool, and all the other deity-level beings think that God is a pervert for telling his created critters to worship him.

No but I am somehow not at all surprised Heinlein wrote Dante's Inferno fanfiction.
Described as an “intentional scheme to boost revenues,” donors had to read through the donation disclaimer’s fine print in order to understand precisely how much money they would be giving to Trump’s campaign. The disclaimer contained several pre-checked provisions which granted the Trump campaign permission to take additional funds from donors’ accounts as time went on.
A 63-year-old cancer patient in Kansas City named Stacy Blatt told the Times that he gave $500 to the campaign in September, despite living on less than $1,000 a month, and was completely blindsided by what followed.
“That single contribution — federal records show it was his first ever — quickly multiplied,” the report stated. “Another $500 was withdrawn the next day, then $500 the next week and every week through mid-October, without his knowledge — until Mr. Blatt’s bank account had been depleted and frozen.”
Another 78-year-old from California made what she thought was a one-time donation of $990 that wound up costing her more than $8,000.

I don't know, supposedly there were bimonthly orgies in the Castle St. Angelo/Mausoleum of Hadrian during Sergius III pontificate, complete with Cardinals and nuns. It was the height of 10th century fetish parties.
It exercised just a bit of influence over Tobias Forge's vision and lyrics for Ghost and especially the characters of Papa Emeritus II and Cardinal Copia.

I feel bad when old people get scammed because they're easy targets and usually don't have a lot of income to go around but in this case, ehhhhh.

It drives me mad that these people will cheer along to GOP promises to cut red tape and oversight, and then be so surprised when they’re scammed and only find out because of what little oversight and protections we have left

Trump is not a billionaire. He has negative net worth at this point.

"The Long Con" written in 2012 about how the GOP and American conservatism in general was just one big giant grift, existing solely to bleed its marks dry, with conspiracy theories being one method of squeezing out another drop. The cancer in the body politic has only continued to metastasize since then.
Trump is not a billionaire. He has negative net worth at this point.
Ehhh no. He, in spite of all the grift, lost a lot of money during his presidency but he still has assets worth one or two billion.
Now in practical terms the vast majority of that wealth isn't *real* in the sense that it's held up in properties that generally pay for themselves but which can't be like, turned into actual purchasing power.

As I recall, his actual cash assets were estimated at something like $100-150 million. He's going to be in trouble in the next couple years as a ton of property loans come due but for the moment he still has a lot of assets.

Yeah he doesn’t have cash flow but he could sell assets to cover the loans....before he led a failed insurrection he was probably going to be able to refinance the loans but he might be too toxic now or will need even more dark money (assuming he won’t sell his stuff)
