August Burns Red is releasing a redux of their album Leveler. It's being completely remade and remixed. Here's their single Poor Millionaire. It's downtuned, slower, has a new solo, and features Ryan from Fit For A King.
Went down a nostalgia rabbit hole and found some music I downloaded off Newgrounds in like 2006ish. I always loved the music section there and found some crazy good tracks. At the time I really liked cornandbeans, a drum n bass artist with lots of crazy stuff for that time https://youtu.be/sTFLfYJEv5w
Well I found the page again because it's still up on Newgrounds and in the comments people mentioned they rebranded as Space Laces and are more EDM/dubstep stuff now. It's cool to see because even back in the day you could tell they just made crazy music, and deserves the success after all this time. https://youtu.be/A1ZHScEzyTY

They do a good job building tension through the whole thing, but what really caught my ear was the insane rhyming schemes on the pre-chorus.
Negative feedback loop
I'm spinning out of control
The sickly sweetness is crushing me
But I want to know
If there's no heat when I escalate the fire is cold
They echo: This could all be yours
The chorus doesn't release all the tension, just pauses it. The only blow off valve in the song is the ending chorus when they ramp up.
Top it off with some actual tasty fucking riffs and this is probably favorite by them.
Yeah this song is just straight up gold from start to finish, the incorporation of the (relatively) melodic vocals really elevate BOO's sound imho. I'm very much looking forward to this drop.

Prada's Zombie II stream was really good, but kind of short at only 10 songs.
Overall, I think ZII incorporates a lot of their newer sounds while still trying to adhere to the old heavy from Zombie EP. It's missing some of the atmo that makes Z1 really damn good, but ZII is a very good EP IMO. Riffy, eerie/doom sounding, and heavy. Excited for the studio release on Friday. Especially for Contagion, that song was sick.

Happy new music day! Zombie 2 EP from TDWP released today and the studio recordings are fucking dope. Definitely adds the atmosphere that was missing from the livestream. Forlorn music video comes out in 4-5 hours so I'll probably come back in here to hype that up too. Until then, here's my favorite from the EP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71837_fF3sQ
Finally, a local Mathcore-emo band Kaonashi came out with their debut album "Dear Lemon House". It's a concept that follows their last EP, "Why did you do it?". Their EP releases have all been really good, but are definitely an acquired taste for some: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pynucl-9JXg
This ones not as heavy, but we got prepped for that by their song "Constance"
This one is however atmospherically heavy with some pretty good detuned riffs. Courtney's voice yet again does some massive heavy lifting here and I genuinely cannot remember a band that has given me chills as much as Spiritbox, and the haunting timbre of her voice is a large part of it.

New Lorna Shore is making some rounds. First single with the new vocalist in a death metal / deathcore band. It's pretty nasty. Will inherits some demons for the last 30 seconds or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyYmS_iBcy4

Jeff Rosenstock released a full ska version of his excellent No Dream album.
It might be even better than No Dream, somehow.

I started literally crying when she said "It's going to be okay". Goddamn, what lyrics, what a song, what an artist.

Huh. Not really a singing style I care for as the primary singer, but I'm digging it anyway.

ABR also dropped their 10 year re-release of Leveler. Haven't checked out the whole thing yet, but the singles I heard sound a lot better than the original mix IMO:
