I do think there might be a like, narrowness of frame viewpoint in that, like you gotta zoom out, y'know?

In that like, most scrappy young actors are people who have read way too much Stanislavski and are really dedicated to weird art auteur shit. And then they hit it big, they get lucky, and what Pooro says happens, they become more career/money focused. And some of them, from that point, will parlay their success into doing weird art auteur shit (maybe the same stuff they wanted to do all along, maybe newfound weird interests).

If you're looking at podcasts with successful actors/writers/directors, they've already made it past that first step. So you might not see the reason that they got into the business at that point.

everyone wants to have a job that they genuinely enjoy doing and that matters to them

    most people won't

so you gotta get as close to that bar as possible

and if that means voicing a talking piece of shit instead of working the register at wendy's, they'll take it

I would, but Patrick Stewart keeps taking all our cushy poop talking jobs away from commoners like me. I was perfect for it too, people are always telling me I sound like a real piece of shit.

Only cowards duel with pistols. You will each be given a locked box with a cutlass inside of it, but in order to unlock the box, you must solve a 4x4 sliding grid puzzle. You may attack your opponent with your bare fists, or the box, while they are attempting to unlock their box, or you may simply try to be the first to unlock the box and cleave them in twain with the cutlass. The choice is yours.

No Crispen Glover plays the quiet creepy assassin who in the first movie is hired by the bad guys and seemingly defeated then pops up in the second movie seemingly as a bad guy but turns out to be helping against the REAL bad guy and gets stabbed by him (with of course a 'mind if I cut in' quip)

I think it's less "Patrick Stewart wants those cash dollars" and more "Patrick Stewart doesn't give a solitary care in the world".

He's been the delightful, morally bankrupt coke addict Deputy Director of the CIA in American Dad for like, 15 dang years.

I think he's the kind of guy who thinks "haha, me, Patrick Stewart, being a poop, hilarious!"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGGEymAXD7s

Patrick Stewart just seems to have a very good sense of humor and is completely unpretentious. You wouldn't think it seeing him in Star Trek until you see in the behind the scenes stuff for Star Trek. He does stuff, it seems, because he thinks it will be fun. Compare that to someone like Rami Malek who ordered Rachel Bilson to take down a photo of them as teens because he wants to be taken seriously as an actor, but still accepted the Oscar for that terrible Queen film.

Apparently when he was first cast in Star Trek, he was still coming off a lot of stage play work, and took the art of acting extremely seriously. Which was a problem, because the entire TNG cast are a load of goofballs. IIRC, took them about a season to completely break Stewart and turn him into a goofball like them.

I think it is worth keeping in mind that malek is probably experiencing different pressures as a young Egyptian actor who was looking down the barrel of a life spent delivering pizzas before he found any success than Patrick Stewart

Yeah, Quark serves actual alcohol from a variety of species, rather than the Synthohol that comes out of he replicators. (IIRC, any food you get at Quark's is replicated).

Also there's places like the Klingon resturant where they need to have live food to serve.
