I reckon they made up the answers to those long-standing mysteries in the last season or two because they knew they didn't have much time to explain them, and before that they were mostly fucking around with whatever ideas seemed funniest at the time.
What if... They're way faster at writing movies because it's just the one thing and the two of them and as it turns out we start getting 90 minute Venture Bros movies every year and a half.
I want this to be real so badly
Give me the fuckin' BBC Release Schedule Venture Bros, give me a few movie episodes every now and then
A movie is significantly shorter and tighter than a full series. Whether that translates to Publick and Hammer having a smoother time with it is yet to be seen. The odds are good enough to hope that I might see this thing before I'm 40 myself, but at least it's better than abrupt cancellation after 7 seasons and 14 years of buildup with a final season planned but not made.
Fuck Time-Warner-AT&T-whoever and fuck capitalism. It's a miracle we got as much as we did with them writing the checks for this show with how expensive and time consuming it is, so it's an extra miracle that we'll get a conclusion of sorts.

They take so long between seasons because they basically make shit up as they go along, but they do meticulously go back through previous seasons to make it all fit. Throw in the time to make an animated show and that’s why they have less than 100 episodes after nearly two decades on the air.

Psych is doing this right now so I dont see why Venture brothers couldn't
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Sooner or later, some brilliant bastard is going to have to write up a tabletop supplement for The Venture Bros world, because there is a shitton of fun stories that could be told in it, entirely adjacent to the main plot.

For a brief moment of vaccine booster side effect haze I read that as 53rd anniversary since the episode aired and my mind was like, “yeah that seems right.”
Jackie Kennedy's wedding in Greece was October 20, 1968
L Ron Hubbard was also docked in Greece on the Sea Org ship Apollo at basically the same time, hence Dr. Venture Sr. fighting him
Rusty was locked in the box for three days, putting the beginning of the Spanakopita festival at either the 22nd or 23rd of October, and the festival goes another 3 days from there

Just finished a rewatch (and my girlfriend's first watch) of the whole show. Last episode she said she'd miss hanging out with those weirdos. And yeah, same.
so it's going direct to video? I assumed it was going to be on HBO's streaming whatever for a while first
Reverse. Aqua Teen movie was the same way. They're going to try to sell the BlueRays/DTVs for a little and then likely add to Max. Assume that'll be the same for the Metalocalypse movie.

I will gladly just buy physical media for the shit I want to watch and then not subscribe to Max anymore
My first thought is to go with the digital download, but I have all the rest of the series on DVD so I feel like I've just got to grab the Blu Ray.
Started rewatching the series the other day and it's weird to watch that trailer and how the animation changed compared to the original flash animation.

I remember watching the pilot in my senior year of film school after another animation student was talking about how he was interning for the Flash studio that was working on it. Anyway I turned 42 last month
Apparently it's because seasons 1 and 2 are not in HD. I think it would be pretty easy to do a mixed set, or shell out for a conversion, but looks like they don't wanna do that!
I would be shocked if the original files of those first couple seasons even EXIST any more, Adult Swim of that era was not really building anything to last
Good: Going with a "gig economy app vs. union labor" storyline is a VERY good escalation of the Guild storylines from the last season.
Bad: That towel monster is definitely Ned underneath some towels, and for a show that has moved past 95% of its shitty season 1 Adult Swim jokes, they reeeeeeally love playing Extreme Ableism for laughs when it comes to Ned.
Is anyone else totally confident that they're going to nail the landing on this? Just... I have no worry that this isn't going to be a fantastic 84 minute movie.

Not that it confirms anything, but Ned has a full five finger hand while the towel monster only has three. I'm guessing it's a robot of some sort.

James Urbaniak at least is under the impression that the movie is going to end the show
...and start the movie series?
It’s also why the show is so damn good.
