The hospital system my wife works for announced a vaccine requirement of its workers a few weeks ago and it caused a firestorm. Her email box is full of women that report to her panicking that the vaccine is going to sterilize them.
There is a lot of misinformation that has been tragically effective.
It is both frightening and staggering how wildly undereducated about this the nursing community is with some hospitals reporting dozens of nurses refusing the Vaccine. It really shakes my already minimal trust in American medicine. It feel like the min bar should be some where north of "understands basic statistics and keeps abreast of the drugs they administer"
She manages administrative and other non-medical personnel but you're not wrong. The nurses aren't happy about it either. To be fair, it's a lot to tell someone they have to quit if they don't get a vaccine that has yet to be fully FDA approved but the more visceral reactions are definitely rooted in conspiracy theory nonsense.
what I don't get is how there is no benefit to spreading misinformation about the vaccine causing sterilization. how does that make a person's life better? it doesn't.

2. By telling people sweet, sweet lies that they are eager to believe and positioning yourself as the truthsayer of said lies, then you succeed at isolating people from those who would warn them of you, and make them more vulnerable to your other lies.

Those are fine questions to ask, they have pretty easy answers. The real deal is how he responds to the answers.
1) A low chance of something happening, happening to you, does not then make it likely something else with a low probability will happen to you
1b) The vaccine makes a recurrence of covid less severe
1c) Why does it even matter if there is a low chance of getting it again? Why does that make it more worthwhile to not get it? This doesn't really make sense to me.
2) This is essentially correct as far as we know. You are not a danger to people who have been vaccinated. You are, however, a danger to those around you who have not been vaccinated, who cannot be vaccinated.
2b) Also, as long as there is a significant portion of the population that is vulnerable to Covid, it will continue passing through them, and possibly mutate to a variant
that is resistant to the vaccine. That would be very very bad, and would obviously be dangerous to everyone.
