You might think to yourself, did he work at a pirate themed restaurant? Perhaps a tourist boat doing trips around the harbour? No, that’s just what he wears.
Huh! Turns out one of my school friends is a man now and they looked hella fly. I changed their name on the system which made me feel really good for little effort. It’s not universal, alas, but at least any letters they get from their local surgery will say the right thing.
But to counteract my good deed I have stolen the last teacake.

One of the many unpleasant side effects of covid time compression is that the dentist appointments just keep happening.
My teeth are still sensitive from my return to the dentist a week or two ago
I don't know if it's because I hadn't gone for almost two years due to covid throwing off my appointments, or because the dental hygienist was a little too vigourous
We discovered last year that my partner needed extensive dental work done due to a shoddy job a previous dentist had done years earlier, and that kind of annihilated 2 year's work of dental cover from our insurance, so I've been putting off my regular visits until we get that sorted
I would actually be embarrassed to admit the last time I'd been to the dentist, if it weren't for the fact that I literally can't remember
Frankly I can't believe they haven't all fallen out at this point
I mean, as long as you're looking after them, and don't have some massive genetic predisposition to bad gums, they shouldn't. Dentists don't, like, glue people's teeth in more securely during a check up.
Yeah, I had started flossing and had been pretty good about it. And it's surprising how quickly it improves your experience with dentists.
But I got to a point where sticking my fingers in my mouth to floss the back teeth was doing things to my gag reflex
Bad things.
After one particular evening of losing the floss string part way down my throat and all the fun and joy that brought around, I had to give it up again.
Hmm, maybe I wasn't doing it consistently enough but flossing never seemed to improve my gum strength, it would always bleed no matter what and the hygienist still chewed me out for not flossing even after I had been doing it 6 months at least a few times a week. I think I just have shitty gums.
I'm sick. 101 fever and fatigue. Though I'm vaccinated, I'd like a covid test, but there are no walk-in or appointments anywhere today and my car is in the shop till Thursday so I can't go tomorrow.
In an uncharacteristically positive and charitable move from our big telco Telstra, it turns out all of our pay phones around the country will now be free to use.
I’m naturally suspicious about what actually pushed them to the decision, but my gosh this is fantastic nonetheless!
Neighbors decided Tuesday night before I have PT Wednesday morning is the night to blast a bunch of music.
So guess I'm going to miss pt again and get discharged for not making my appointments.
That and I am going to be up at least until they turn it the hell down.

Well I've been laid low all day with gastric pain/poopin' issues, now it looks like I have a fever of 101.5 and my whole body is super sore. At least I have no apparent respiratory symptoms and can still smell/ taste fine, so hopefully it's just a standard stomach bug of some kind.

You still have pay phones??? I haven't seen a working pay phone in years

Offspring Drummer Says He’s Been Booted From Band for Not Getting Vaccinated
According to the article, Pete Parada has (or says he has) Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a condition that could make side-effects from the vaccination worse. However, he also said he had COVID previously and thus has antibodies. I'm not sure what to say except the tweet that led me to the one above surprised me in that what it said about the band's vocalist, Dexter Holland, is true.

The CDC specifically has a section on their website about how patients with GBS are not at risk from the vaccine and should get the vaccine, the drummer is full of shit and giving ammo to antivaxxers.

He wrote his dissertation on mRNA

Hey smarter then me folks. Does anyone know anybody who has a autoimmune disorder and got the vaccine? I have a friend who seems to have had (he thinks) an inflammatory reaction when he got COVID and lost his sense of taste and smell. It hasn't come back yet (though he also permanently damaged it with a stupid "treatment" he read about online). He said he's afraid the vaccine will give him another reaction and he'll lose the rest of his senses. He said his doctor agrees with him, but he's also told me this is his forth doctor because the other one's kept telling him things he disagrees with and wouldn't prescribe him the medication he decided he needed through his own research.
Yes he's gone off the deep end and I'm trying to get some testimonials that if folks with actual auto immune disorders got the vaccine, him and his suspected one will be fine.
Overall, our data indicated that COVID-19 vaccines are well tolerated by patients with autoimmune diseases. Such findings might reassure patients who remain hesitant about COVID-19 vaccinations, and help physicians in guiding their patients towards accepting such vaccines.

That would be me, Skragg. I have Crohn’s, an autoimmune disorder. I got the vaccine. I have to take immunosuppressants in order to keep my Crohn’s in check.

I'll let Ultimecia know, maybe we can get it sorted out over the next time reboot.

Nope. I just clench my jaw too much. Teeth are fine.

I called an rescheduled it to the next available appointment. So now I'm going in march. -_-
I miss the moral clarity of never flossing and getting mad at people for poking my gums with metal hooks and then griping at me about the blood.
But I got to a point where sticking my fingers in my mouth to floss the back teeth was doing things to my gag reflex

I wonder now if there's any other active bands that have members rocking a PhD like that.

The important concluding bit:
Unfortunately, autoimmune issues covers a wide range of conditions, so him being worried about some nebulous one makes it hard to point to something specific and say “all clear,” but this section of the CDC webpage does list the information we have: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/underlying-conditions.html
Which - again - specifically says people with GBS should get the damn thing.
