Thanks to Commander Zoom and others for getting the ball rolling on Cinemaware Anthology, I just picked that up. I had Wings already, but I'm intrigued by Defender of the Crown and It Came From The Desert.

A while back, I watched a YT video about some of the stuff that was coming out for Amiga during the NES era, and was floored. I'm anxious to go hands on with it, after I run some honey do's.

    I'm incredibly disappointed in Tripwire.

At the same time, I had no idea you could just hide certain publishers stuff from steam entirely. That's a handy thing to know!

I liked when I didn’t know everything about people I bought stuff from.

But at the same time, when I do it doesn’t stop me avoiding their stuff like the plague.

Same. It's fun enough, but it's an arcady fun.

I liked the game, it didn't take itself seriously and the shark swimming was decent.

Just not worth the trouble when it's connected to a company that has a ceo with abhorrent beliefs.

There are 50 bajillion games coming out every day. I can find a game from a company that's not run by shitheads easily enough, so I might as well put my money towards them.

In fairness, Tripwire only published (rather than developed) Maneater I think. Not the fault of those devs - or the Chivalry 2 ones - that their publisher’s leadership decided to air his brain in public.

Depends where your line is - if you pick it up ,some presumably blameless dev gets to keep a paycheque, but the publisher do of course get their cut.

There’s enough good stuff out there already that this wasn’t really on my radar, so eh. Weren’t getting my money anyway.

The industry will move on, and everyone is going to forget about it in a month - just like they forgot about Tim Soret, just like they forgot about Sean Halliday, just like they forgot about dickwolves. But if its important to you than its important to you.

In a perfect world any game developer (or company who works with game developers) who used twitter for literally anything other than directly promoting their game would be publicly flogged, but the two best pieces of life advice you will ever get are always brush your teeth before you put your tie on, and never give a shit about anything that happens on twitter.

Looking at my backlog and where it's weighed, I think tomorrow is gonna hafta be Shmup Day. I gotta at least get some of these in the played column, if not completed. Here's hoping most of them have autofire, for the sake of my thumb.

I don't think this is the case at all. I only played shark game because it was on game pass, but you can bet your ass Microsoft isn't gonna sign a deal with them again after this kinda publicly announced idiocy. The things you say and do have ramifications, freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence, and if you say dumb shit I reserve the right to ignore you. Incandescent is a pretty big stretch, it's more just being tired of idiots saying dumb stuff on twitter and people immediately frothing at the mouth over it. You're like kindergarteners gleefully running to tell the teacher on someone. I don't understand why you people are so desperate to be mad at someone who doesn't agree with you, but lucky for you there is a neverending parade of idiots on twitter who will happily feed your desire.

Some random game developer's opinion on [anything] literally does not matter, but people like you just had to streisand it and now the entire "gaming community" has seen it. Good job.

There's a difference between some rando insulting your favorite game/car/movie/color and a person who stands to profit from your purchases saying "women's rights are being taken away, isn't it awesome?"

Getting mad about the former is stupid.

Not getting mad about the latter is disgraceful.

I'm not sure what you're expecting the industry/buyers to do here? Sean Halliday was fired from CD Project and has taken cover with the right-wing arse The Quartering. Tim Soret is still a dev with 0 released games who was trying to ride Gamergate to get some extra eyes on his game but I dunno what we can do, not buy the 0 games he has put out? And whatever your stance on dickwolves I wouldn't lump it in with this, there's a difference between a terrible joke and actively supporting a law that punishes nearly half the population.

I mean we can all hide behind extreme nihilism if we want to be cute but there are definite results and consequences happening here, otherwise alt-right chuckleheads wouldn't be moaning about the effects of cancel culture.

Final Fantasy IV destroyed my brain in 1991 as to how amazing RPGs could look, sound, and play. Insanely, we got Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, and Secret of Mana after that in what I like to refer to the golden era of JRPGs.

I remember Encased catching some interest when it was first revealed but seems to have completely fallen off everybody's radar.

Seems to be a pretty neat Fallout inspired scifi CRPG. Comes out on the 7th so bad timing with the new Pathfinder game that just came out but I'm looking forward to diving in tomorrow.
