I really enjoyed the modern first person Fallout games, and Avellone actually being a huge creep and probably a rapist really soured me on everything

But if I could make a similar vaguely diesel punk the 50s were actually fucking terrible and insane and MAD was fucking crazy type game, maxed up with the recent Wolfenstein games, that would be fun

Base building, alliance forming, fighting fascism, exploring

A more even survival mode, bows and crossbows, way, way, less ammo around the world, which could change via something the player does or does not do

You could of course do almost anything in this Fallout/Wolfenstein mash up, but I think I would make it more community focused, and not so much your character is the savior of humanity

Monster Hunter x PSO by way of Platinum.

I want big boss type enemies, but also grunts that can be threatening. I want flashy attacks and animations that are satisfying in their feel and all. I want lots and lots of character customization. Options for how to build a character, but easy to swap out and try crazy ideas. It should be discrete runs with a hub, so play breaks down into digestable chunks. I want both rare stuff to find and making things out of more common parts.

My mind keeps drifting back to this concept where you're playing as an artifact like the One Ring, or where your character's soul has been bound to an item. The game would be open world, and you're able to subtly influence those around you, and if they pick you up you would steadily gain more influence with them and convince them to do things that would otherwise be "out of character" or something.

I would have an entire ip based around that TOS Episode of star trek, doomsday weapon machine

A universe where the fermi paradox was loosing control of their dogs of war. Dogs of war in this case meaning ai dreadnaut or kaiju who regrets killing and broadcasts that regret towards its victims

Dwarf fortress except it’s co-op and the building/digging/etc takes place in first or close-third person. Tower defense with a detailed economic backend basically

Something like outriders or the ME3 multi except with more customization and some kind matchmaking/leaderboard system that isn’t shit

Xcom 2 only firaxis somehow gets the necromunda IP and uses that instead

Since I'm burning through the Lord of the Rings again, and watching the movies as I get time, I find myself also wanting more games in that setting. I'm somewhat contenting myself with Shadow of War but its a much looser take on the series and not what I would really call a proper adaptation of the source material.

I wouldn't mind seeing a game in the style of the Last of Us 2 with the Peter Jackson film design, ie a large, story driven single player, action/adventure game with a semi open world that is still linear and keeps the narrative moving forward. I'd also like it to be about the Dunádain, since they really don't get a whole lot of spot light in the books or films beyond you knowing Aragorn is one and they're descended from Númenor.

Have it set a few years before the events of the Fellowship and maybe up to the fall of Osgiliath. It would be cool to explore the world that we only really caught glimpses of in the film.

There was a time in my life when I’d have to take really long train journeys, which led to me making dozens of documents for game ideas even though I’ve never had a genuine desire to code them up.

Ogre Battle: In the Lap of the Gods
Plays mostly like Ogre Battle (rather than Tactics Ogre), with more formation shifting and pairing attacks across your multiple parties.
    The core points were:
    * Glamorous, rock star styling merged with the high fantasy flair. Think huge fur collared cloaks, wild hair, gothic make-up, frilly cuffs, tight pants and lots of jewellery.
    * The land is comprised of many little kingdoms, and you can only conquer so much of it. In this way you build your choice of units and inevitably choose who your enemy is comprised of. Some light politics dictates who will ally with you if you’ve already allied with their rival, etc.
    * Sometimes you’ve got to split your forces, doing two levels back to back, so you’ve got to keep your units up to scratch.

    Speed of Dark
Starfighter racing game. Flying through space, the edges of the track would be marked by floating lights that become a force-field if you get too close. The kicker is there’s no limit to how fast you go, so it’s up to you to pick and choose how much you accelerate. You can even go so fast you outpace light, turning everything black and red; plus going ‘speed of dark’ reveals secrets in the track.

    JANK
It’s Bloodborne but you’re a robot in a colossal structure that is randomly and continually building more of itself. No dialogue or story other than what you infer.
    Main points:
    * You rip the batteries out of defeated foes, healing yourself by a great amount—this is the only way to heal.
    * Bosses are plentiful and have short health bars. You’ve got to master it in one go, but they’re never a slog.
    * The robot has a magnet pull/push ability that runs on stamina. Most things are magnetic, so you can leap off a ledge and pull yourself across gaps, or use it mid-dodge step to fling yourself around an enemy, or to cling onto a boss’s back. Eventually certain enemies will have it too, and so combat gets an extra layer of pushing and pulling.

    We Become
Dwarf Fortress except you just lasso areas of land and say what you generally think should go there, and the dwarfs interpret it as they please, independently doing the leg work to make that happen.
Every week the dwarfs (or whatever) pose a question regarding morality, law or tradition, and your answer shapes their culture.
You might idly answer a bunch of questions and after a couple years they become isolationist vegan socialists or an expansive trade empire that worship pottery. The main kicker is putting all these ‘thought dominos’ in place and watching as they explode when they come in contact with just the wrong situation.

    Untitled Boat Game
You just… have a sail boat and the wind and tides are semi-realistic. An open world game without any real goal. It’d be all arty and represent being sad because capitalism or something.

    Excuse Me, Supremo
So… a real simple first-person puzzle game, where you play a henchman to a supervillain, and you have to find a way to get out of being involved in anything before the hero of the day turns up to defeat them.

    That’ll do but I got a million.

It starts out as a Dinosaur Theme Park simulator. You design the park, place the attractions/rides/snack stands and the like. Keep up the budgetary work and maintenance and eventually make mistakes (Like hiring one guy to develop a custom OS for your entire island and maintain it, then laugh at him when he asks for a raise having drastically underestimated the project. Nedry got a bum deal).
Eventually, the mistakes start snowballing until something big goes down and your park is in full on emergency mode. Emergency power only, alarms going off, light only provided by spinning siren lights, the whole bit.
Once that happens, the game stops being a Park Sim, and goes into FPS mode.
You get a revolver, six tranq darts and a toolkit.
Do you try to fix the park and save your investment? Do you try to make it to the escape boat? Do you make a mad dash to your emergency helicopter?
Did you invest heavily in first aid kits for your island? Or did you think that having them prominently displayed would ruin the fun atmosphere for your guests?
Did you equip the game stands with emergency shotguns just in case? Or did you worry about making guests nervous around overwhelming firepower?
Did you park your emergency chopper on the far side of the island behind a waterfall like a Bond villain? Or is it easily accessible?
Do you even remember where you hid the main generator building? Oh, right next to the helicopter behind the waterfall? Better get walking. You did remember to invest in low light goggles, right?

Maybe include multiplayer, where you can go visit other peoples parks. Maybe you're just visiting to see their dinos. Maybe you do a little sabotage to spike their costs up or to give them another issue on the snowball to worry about. Slip a burger to the dinosaurs to cause stomach issues, then watch those costs spike. Not only vet costs, but extra waste generated by upset dino tummies, maybe that causes a spike in scavenger population throwing your carefully planned diet plans out the window. Maybe you do a big sabotage to bring the park down so you can try and raid their gene vault to improve your own island population.

Bigger, more profitable, parks are likely going to draw more attention and visitors, but will have better defenses against this kind of sabotage in place.

Healer game in small community caught in a conflict.

Basically psychic trauma center where you balance magic (blunt, wide ranging, and umprecise) with surgical techniques

For example, you could heal all the arrow wounds from a distance, saving the entire battlefield, but the 20 people suffering from various kinds of shock and sepsis need more intricate care.

As your character gets more experience, you get farsight and teleknesis to heal more from a distance and at once.

So as a rookie, it take everything you have to save little billy who was crushed by a tree. By the time you leave, all physical injuries can heal by being in the room with you while you repair the collapsed ribcage of this pregnant woman while willing her lungs to function.

Ideally, there'd be a healthy dose of Roboforge to allow you to build custom Jaegers (remember Roboforge? That was some fun times), and procedurally generated kaiju using the same engine. Think something like Warning Forever where the method you killed the old boss is strengthened in the next version (but a little less speedy than Warning Forever getting up to full screen bullet hell bullshit).
Maybe add some internet stuff to upload your Jaegers or Kaiju to the internet so other players can download them, and then never, ever, download them from others because you don't want to have to save the world from penis monsters with penis robots. And you know from Spore that that is exactly what would happen.

I kinda wanna make a game that is a series of miniature JRPGs. You know, simple turn based combat and bad plots.

The main idea is I find the core cast, and particularly the protagonist of such games to be boring as Hell, but I enjoy the overall concept… so instead you’d have a chapter long story of a minstrel, dancer and jester, or an android assassin, or a slime, bat and goblin, or a princess and an old hag, or a retired adventurer and a dragon.

I think this’d be fun because you’d get to see the game mechanics from multiple angles; an all magic user team, party of 1 or 6 with summons, no items, over-powered, difficult/complex fights, deep musing on existence, comedy, boss rush, no combat etc.

I’d reuse maps and intertwine it all just enough to keep players invested, but it would mostly be separate tales.

Taking the idea to impossible extremes, you could even have endgame chapters mix and match characters from prior stories.

You play from the perspective of a sentient sword with the ability to grant power to whoever wields you. When your wielder dies or relinquishes the sword you're granted a portion of their soul to merge with yours as experience points, with those who held you for longer periods granting more experience. This experience levels up the sword and allows for additional powers to be chosen from a skill tree, including powers that might change how the sword is used such as making it more of a catalyst for a wielder's magic or traits rather than a functional sword. Additionally, your soul's tendency will change on a grid with four quadrants based on the tendency of the wielder's and its potency, the length of time they were a wielder.

    * Red Tendency is the axis of passion, fervor, and anger. A wielder embodying it could be a berserker, a determined hero, or a bloodthirsty murderer.

    * Blue Tendency is the axis of calmness, silence, and cold. A wielder with this tendency could be a nihilistic soldier, a tranquil warrior, or an emotionless assassin.

    * Order Tendency is the axis for endurance, stagnation, and creation. A wielder with this tendency could desire to rule, to bring peace, or to crush all opposition.

    * Chaos Tendency is the axis for spontaneity, change, and destruction. A wielder who displays this tendency could be a wandering adventurer, a genocidal villain, or a mercenary.

None of the Tendencies lock out any of the skill tree but having enough points in a particular Tendency may allow for more options when it comes to the wielder. A sword with Red Chaos Tendency may actively urge its wielder to action if not try to take over their body at times while a sword with Blue Order Tendency may not speak at all or attempt subtle manipulation of the wielder's mind through dreams.

The game would progress through a series of wielders depending on how each one came to their end. A wielder who grew old could pass the sword to one of their descendants while a wielder who died in battle could result in the sword being taken by their killer. However, while the sword cannot withhold its standard power from a wielder it can choose to withhold its assistance. The powers from the skill tree are used at the discretion of the sword, not the wielder, and includes things like healing the wielder or unlocking a more powerful form of the sword for a fight. By choosing to grant or deny these additional powers a wielder might triumph over a fight they otherwise couldn't win or lose a fight they thought would be easy. Each use of these additional powers would also change the Tendency of the sword.

After about ten wielders there would be an option to select between three different ascendancy paths for the sword: Divine, Celestial, and Demonic. A Divine sword is exactly what it sounds like and draws its power from the gods to fight their enemies, though who those enemies are varies and their power can be fickle. A Celestial sword is one that draws its powers from the forces beyond humanity's control, but because of it they demand careful use of those powers to not wreak immense havoc and destruction on a grand scale. A Demonic sword is a weapon that briefly multiplies its power according to how much is sacrificed by the wielder, though this does mean that drawing out its strength can't be done often and may require the wielder to lay down their life to do so.

The actual structure of the game would be a story based choose your own adventure experience with some art for flavor. A route may terminate prematurely for various reasons, such as if you're broken with no way to be repaired or put somewhere no one will ever find you again, but otherwise there'd be a proper ending after a total of twenty wielders, with the last one being the finale of the sword's story that can conclude in various ways ranging from gaining human form to finally breaking after expending every ounce of power to protect a wielder to becoming a cursed blade that possesses the body of whoever touches it so that it can continue killing.

My dream game is basically a mashup of road rash and the new Fallout games. The concept is that in the near future Something Bad happened and civilization fell apart some, and so there are remnants of the US government and corporations and such but the landscape is a lot emptier and individual cities are more like fortresses.

You the protagonist are a courier, a member of basically a post-apocolyptic Pony Express type organization, and you take documents from place to place because the Bad Thing disrupted communication networks and long distance transmission of information isn't possible, for Reasons. You drive a motorcycle between settlements, in a semi-open world, and on the way you end up in cool road-based motorcycle combat. That part is third person but most of the game is in first person.

In the settlements/cities it's a lot more like a Fallout game mixed with Dishonored, a lot of RPG talking and walking and dialogue trees but a lot of opportunity for first person stealth and combat too.

There are three main factions that you do work for and can earn reputation with for access to equipment and new interior spaces and dress-up options. The factions are:
-The government, with a very drab military aesthetic and access to vendors that have strong weaponry and reputation points that allow you to sidestep some of the law enforcement in the settlements.
-The corporations, with a very futuristic/Deus Ex aesthetic, that give you access to vendors with strong technology and hacking options and reputation points that give you more control over economic factors like general vendor discounts and fancier motorcycle upgrades.
-The wildlands gangs, with a very Mad Max aesthetic and access to vendors that'll give you upgrades for traveling more easily between settlements and in the open world and access to more social spaces in between the established settlements.

There would be a bunch of story stuff about each of the factions and you could try to play every side or you could side strongly with one of the three to maximize your reputation and access to their aesthetic and equipment. I would like Bethesda or Obsidian to make me this game very much, please and thank you.

I would like Bethesda or Obsidian to make me this game very much, please and thank you.

with early 90s Soundgarden on the soundtrack!

Mad Max but with the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor.

Also Predator in a Batman Arkham Asylum style.

The actual mad max game had some elements of the nemesis system, not very extensive tho but they were there

But predator in third person Arkham style is a must. I want my dream aliens vs predator 3 campaign nemesis system game, but I’ll take a solo predator one too

Mmm maybe. I've played Mad Max 3 times and there's not so much "wound this warlord and he comes back to ambush you." I want War Rigs that are led by warlords who remember your and get wounds and nicknames for their cars.

I have made an unfortunately large document for a JRPG I have no intention of making. I am holding @Juggernut accountable.

After messing around with Forza a few days, I now want more varieties of open world racing playgrounds. Giant robots, hover boards, high speed wizards, whatever.
