Looks like GSC and Custodes codexes are being delayed until early 2022. Battle box is still looking like xmas.

    Such disappoint

They don't seem to be doing well on getting books atm. They don't even have a tie in book for Aeronautica Imperialis Wrath of Angels yet, which is usually required for the non-core box stuff that comes out with the two fleets.

I feel they don't have a follow up book because of the pandemic stuff and AI being a specialist game

I think, but I will need to check, that there are planes/rules that aren't in the core set but are in the ace cards etc. Usually the book has the full faction rules and extra stuff in there. They haven't actually said there isn't a book for Wrath of Angels either. It would be weird to not have the rules for those extra planes etc in anything other than the ace/plane cards (that they only make for an incredibly limited time window).

I know I do want to get AI but it's the thing my brother has been pushing for it since it is that itch that X wing failed to scratch until the end
He does want his own copy of the Aeldari planes
I do find the one and done printing rather frustrating with the FOMO ideal people have, The lack of a book for this edition I just wrote up as a combo of being a specialist game and the pandemic

They continue making the base sets at least, so you don't need to worry about that.

But every other component of a release is one and done for the most part.

I still have a sealed spare copy of the Imperial Navy Aircraft and Aces cards (the one from the first box set, with the blue/white pilot on the front). If anyone really needs one and is in the CONUS we can probably work something out.

Alternately, you could check around online and see if anyone scanned the cards and print a set out I guess. The cards are really nice to have, flipping through back and forth through the rulebook to get stats (especially if both players have to flip through the same rulebook) is a complete mess, and getting extra rules for aces is pretty fun. I get that they can't be continuously reprinting cards since its all done in big batches in China, but it would have been nice if there was some sort of app or something, or if they had just thrown a couple of cheat sheets in each starter box.

I was mostly joking. But in Deathwatch with rerolls to wound/buffs they do a shit ton of work for 150 points. Just an efficient unit in my army. It basically picks up a target unit when I need it to.

I think DG have the most efficient version with tallyman. Can get hit on 2s, Reroll 1s, 6s explode and auto wound, and 6s to wound have AP.

Very seldom does more than 10 wounds and often in the 6-8 range with that.

Its not bad. The Indomitus Captain is a duplicate. But you get a nice big chunk of assault intercessors. The blade guard can be in two units or 1. Heavy intercessors aren't bad. Intercessors are not in the best place but fine. The storm speeder is still not core and over priced.

It would make an okay but not a great list. Missing dreads. I would say probably works best with white scars or successor chapter with whirlwind of rage/born heroes. It would look cool though.

This would probably be what the two together look like.

I assume someone went to a Warhammer event and tried to nazi it up:
If you come to a Games Workshop event or store and behave to the contrary, including wearing the symbols of real-world hate groups, you will be asked to leave. We won’t let you participate. We don’t want your money. We don’t want you in the Warhammer community.

A guy in Spain showed up to a tournament at an independent game store wearing a logo for a historical Spanish fascist group. Some of his opponents refused to play against him, so the store that was holding the tournament reported it as them conceding.

A bunch of people on the internet got very angry at GW for letting it happen even though it was at a non-official tournament at an independent store. Cue a bunch of overdramatic articles rehashing shit that everyone already knows already (don't wear hate symbols to a warhammer tournament you fucking edgelords) and a general disdain for the tabletop community. GW decided that, a couple weeks later, they would release an official statement that is basically "don't wear hate symbols to a warhammer tournament you fucking edgelords".

I can't believe they didn't let me fly my "murder all humans" flag in-store! This is not the Warhammer I fought for!

For the record the tournament holders are claiming that they couldn't kick the guy out because while its not illegal in Spain to wear hate symbolism, removing him from the event would be ideological discrimination, which is.

Sounds like the Spanish law hasn't figured out the riddle of Intolerance.

I am writing on behalf of the “El cobrador del waaagh” club (organizers of the GT Talavera) and I am writing to clarify what happened in the GT Talavera “The Return” in reference to the Nazi who participated.
First of all, I would like to make it clear that the club repudiates the Nazi mentality in all its aspects. We are a club made up of people with different political ideas (some more liberal and others more conservative), different religions (Catholic, agnostic ...) and from different countries (Spain, Argentina, Panama ...) to which our passion unites by Warhammer 40K. With this I think you will understand that Nazi ideas have no place in our group, because they are contrary to everything we stand for.

As a second aspect, I would like to highlight our deep sadness to see that has not bothered to contrast the information that comes to him through emails. I understand that the fairest thing would have been to contact the organization and listen to our version of events (which I will present in the following paragraphs) and with both information to be able to have an objective opinion.
    The facts were the following;

During the second day of the tournament one of the participants showed up wearing clothes with Nazi symbols, one of his opponents refused to play against him and demanded that we expel him from the tournament. Two members of the organization (one of them a lawyer by profession) met alone with the player in Nazi clothing, exposing him the situation and our dissatisfaction with him showing this symbolism in the tournament. This individual replied that he had no problem in playing against anyone and that he had behaved correctly throughout the tournament, but if we wanted to expel him he would call the police himself. At this point we want to emphasize that in Spain it is not a crime to display Nazi symbols as long as it is not accompanied by criminal conduct (and I want to emphasize that we do not believe that the law is fair or correct, but that's how it is written), instead if the organization expels to this person for his deplorable ideas (Nazism), it is the organization that is committing a crime of ideological discrimination and it could perfectly denounce us and would have the law on its side. At that moment we find ourselves tied hand and foot.

Once reached that point, if any player does not play their game, the opponent automatically wins it 20-0 (this is if they are on the bases). It is something very unpleasant, but in such a difficult situation we believed that we had to follow the rules of the tournament and emphasize that the organizers were the most upset with this situation that we were forced to take.
These types of people are "professional" provocateurs who know perfectly how far they can "tighten the rope" without having legal consequences for them, in this case the person behaves correctly at all times, leaving us without weapons to expel him by not having a criminal behavior.

We have taken note and in future editions we will write legal tools in the tournament bases that allow us to expel people like this with the law on our part. In the 10 years that we have been playing tournaments, we have never faced such an unpleasant situation and did not realize that it would be necessary until now, which we deeply regret. Once said incident has been commented, we would like to let you know that all these emails are born from a harassment campaign that we have received from groups of people with animosity towards the club and the event.

Another point that we would like to clarify is our policy of not allowing “recast” in the tournament, as a lot of confusion has been created on this point. The organization believes in the importance of intellectual property. The aforementioned groups have come to denounce that we allow this type of recast as long as they are from a specific manufacturer, with whom they say that we are associated in that business (something totally false, since there are no exceptions in this policy and we do not have joint ventures with anyone). This falsehood has been launched without scruples and with the clear intention of doing harm. This event is carried out jointly with Invasion Talavera (hobby shop) to which these lies can do a tremendous damage to its image in front of GW (its main supplier). They want to sink the business of two families deliberately and with falsehoods out of sheer evil.
I'm sorry if this statement has been too long, but I think it is important to clean the image of the event of all these falsehoods, since we are a group of friends who only get together to carry out a tournament for others to enjoy, without any profit in it. These situations make us wonder if it is really worth spending so much effort and time that we stop being with our families on something that can so easily discredit and dirty.”

That is from the Spanish organization. Yeah Spanish law seems a mess there.

But also again years of running stuff and you don't run into a Nazi because for most of our lives Nazis aren't a thing to show up and wear a fucking sign at a Warhammer tourney. They tended to be more back end quiet about being intolerant dicks.

    But that has changed.

    Still its bullshit.

The laws on these things in Spain are backwards, but by design.

You have to remember Spain was a fascist state until 1975 and they never had a revolution or anything similar to overthrow it, they just "transitioned" to a "democracy." Large facist parties still exist there and regularly control large swathes of the goverment.

They have brought back the old foes again, this time being the space wolves and orks
The Orks contain the combat patrol with a bonebreaka and mek for 265 USD. The Space wolves is the combat patrol as well with aggressors and the hailstrike for $255 USD. So I do wonder what the holiday armies will cost since people are pleading with others to use the LGS and saying theories of they will cost 130-150 GBP. I am personally more interested in the AoS ones than the 40k ones even though it does mean I would have to get the army book for those forces and I look at the library I have with questions and regret

Templars FAQ came out yesterday. They don't even announce FAQs anymore, do they?

Regarding codex preview. I guess one of the main things each 9th edition codex is getting is -1ap on either a common ccw or gun.
Also what's the over under that the shuriken catapult is still going to be 12 inch range? Would almost be hilarious.

Aww man. I don't use them because I use Pauper Princes and the Icons reroll is worse than their Creeds rule.

But D3 models back every command phase? I can squeeze those points in to use them. They might be better on my Neophytes who tend to stand back and hold objects moreso than my Acolytes who alpha strike then mostly die next turn.

T4 is a pretty huge buff to Acolytes though, especially against my Dark Eldar friend. That's shifting wound rolls from 4+ to 5+ in combat with his Wyches if he didn't roll Grave Lotus.

edit - actually the Icon thing pairs well with Pauper Prince Neophytes. Having Last Gasp cast on them or a Clamavus with the Reliquiary of St Tannarc near them, you can almost safely remove your special and heavy weapons, giving them a free shot on a 4+, then next turn they come back without needing to spend the command point on Cult Reinfrocments.

So I do wonder about the craftworlders as the rumor is they get their codex sometime this next year with a trickle of models to follow

Also what's the over under that the shuriken catapult is still going to be 12 inch range? Would almost be hilarious.

I know the Drukhari got a huge quality of life update in their codex. The 2 attack baseline the various weapons. Even the rollback or clarification in the FAQ didn't really change it
So I do wonder about the craftworlders as the rumor is they get their codex sometime this next year with a trickle of models to follow

What might be relevant is that the basic Splinter weaponry didn't get changed in the new Drukhari Codex, so there's a definite possibility that Shuriken weaponry remains mostly untouched.
