Nah, he was pretty dang solid in Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
And he was funny as hell in Snatch, but that doesn't necessarily have a lot to do with his acting.
I will agree about The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, but Sam Rockwell and Casey Affleck both gave significantly better performances.

Paul Schneider was really great, too. Doesn't mean Brad Pitt can't act.
whatever I ain't got time to slap dicks with a bunch of film snobs anyways
In this thread, not having completely ridiculous concepts of what constitutes quality film equals being a "film snob".
Look, if you think Ratatouille--which I loved--deserves to be mentioned in the same conversation as, oh, any of the films I mentioned, I'm more than happy to never "slap dicks" with you about film, as I generally get flustered when trying to carry on intelligent conversations with undiscerning buffoons.

You big silly.
Hahahahahahaha.
I only neglected to mention him as well because I couldn't remember his real name.

Paul Schneider was also great in All the Real Girls, and George Washington. I wish he'd get more work.
Oh, but speaking of Sam Rockwell, have you seen the trailer for Snow Angels? It and Quid Pro Quo are my most anticipated movies of the year, thus far.
there's an interview with david gordon green in filmmaker magazine
it made me more excited for snow angels
I really love David Gordon Green. And Snow Angels looks fantastic.
Pineapple Express is a curiosity, though. DGG directing a stoner comedy? It's either gonna be transcendental, or a total fucking train wreck. Either way, though, I want to see it.

It is difficult for me to not get excited about movies in which Sam Rockwell appears, even momentarily.
You know, I really liked Juno but what the fuck is it doing in the best picture category? I just don't understand. Even compared to Knocked Up and Superbad, Juno takes a back seat to them. Both movies were funnier and still managed to have some depth and sweetness underneath the crudeness.
Just because Juno was an indie comedy with annoying music in it doesn't make it best picture material.
I'm pissed that The Simpsons Movie didn't get nominated for Best Animated Picture of the year. I might not as good as Persepolis and its definitely not as good as Ratatouille but it had to be better than Surf's Up.

It could be worth a nomination, though. I know I enjoyed it more than Juno, anyway.
did you make these movies, naporeon?

There is truth in this I suppose.
to be fair, he was moderately crazy as jesse james
anyway, i'm kind of surprised there are people here who don't think brad pitt is a good actor. i pretty consistently enjoy his performances.
But I wouldn't say that they are a good mode of transportation.

the only problem is that there is at best one good animated film a year
it made me more excited for snow angels
I'm kinda of upset Atonement got the nomination over Zodiac or Ratatouille even.
I really want to see The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
I salute you, Pooro, for making a thinly vield Movie Thread

Atonement was so shittily written. Zodiac should have totally had that slot.

Also your Beauty and the Beast quote is wrong.
Yes it was.
Also what is the quote then?
I was in a prodcution of it last year and had to hear it a hundred thousand times
Although I liked Magnolia quite a bit more than he did
edit: I meant the last page
i heard it was really good and i want to see it but no one would go with me
I feel really guilty saying that because I hear the same thing from people about No Country For Old Men, which is just a stupid thing to say.
the ending to no country was not disappointing, it was disjointed
the transition between the final scenes felt really weak to me
So I think I will watch
Fight Club
Seven
and Enchanted
it's just as stupid to say it about TWBB
maybe even stupider
I enjoyed the ending to no country for old men. I had a problem with there will be blood's
