The sad part is that you can only see these warnings/advisements if you are either on desktop or are not logged into mobile. I don't think a notification bar has been posted yet, which makes sense if the admins are away or out of town.

I figure there's gotta be some other contact for the main site or all of the other hosted stuff.

Completely unbased on anything guess, but I suspect that there's some login piece or authentication that went to the old PA site, that was updated for the main forums but not for the mobile stylesheet. So now that it's been a couple weeks on the new PA site, they turned off the backend servers, and in the process broke whatever piece that the mobile forum was trying to fetch.
Yeah, I'm looking into it. I'm not entirely certain what's going on, but I'm digging into what I have access to and gathering your reports to see if there's something we need to report. FWIW I don't think it's browser specific.
Just through brute force testing, any user-agent that contains mobile info in it (Android, iPhone, Blackberry) across all browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, MS Edge, Opera) breaks it.
Strip out the content of the user agent that points to it being a phone and it all loads. So whatever it checking user agent to redirect to mobile site breaks things, but if it can't tell (e.g. custom user agent) or desktop is requested (PC, Tablets, or desktop mode from phone), it loads fine.
I can't seem to tell the breaking point, as it's a straight 500 error, so from the browser side it doesn't even capture anything in the sign in process, just goes straight to error.
Also, that error is specific to signing in/being signed in. If you aren't signed in, mobile page loads. Go to sign in page and attempt to log in, 500 error.
Edit: More observations.
Sign in actually works on mobile. Two tabs open, one desktop, one mobile user-agent. Sign out.
If I sign in on the mobile page, it loads then 500s.
But if I refresh the desktop tab, it shows me signed in.
So it does complete the sign in process (including the cookies that designate account signed in, vf_pennyarcade_PMC cookies), something after that is where it's breaking.
Not sure it means anything but on the desktop tab, it does write the cookies for activity (last activity, last visit, tracker) which it doesn't reach the step of writing those in the mobile browser.
I don't understand anything about the internet or what makes the internet work but I am very bored and this appears to be a mystery so now I'm deeply invested in the investigation and outcome of this, the borked Forums.

That's probably extremely useful information, thank you for digging into that.
I'm in contact with Vanilla on this. I don't believe it's anything on our end, so just bear with me on this.

Whatever has happened so far, mobile seems to default to desktop view no matter if you try to switch the settings or not.
Yeah, it looks like the Mobile redirect has been stripped out completely. So I'm guessing at the Vanilla level they've identified something wrong with it.
I just came report that I too just tried again on Chrome/Android and the page reloaded as the desktop site.

+1 for getting desktop version on phone, though it is making the post text readably big by default, if nothing else
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

ipad loads the desktop site, so that would probably be why it works
