I really kinda dig Rammstein's weird transition into... industrial pop? Like, it's absolutely unhinged (I assume) but coated in this thick layer of crunchy sugar.
Like getting to the center of a tootsie pop but instead of a nougat it's a furiously masturbating cockroach.

They've kept themselves open to new influences and never seem stuck in a rut stylistically. The tone and absurdiy of the Zick Zack video exudes Little Big energy:
I'm going back and listening to Joe Bonamassa's 2014 album (lol holy shit 2014) Different Shades of Blue.
This is maybe one of my favorite albums of his and also I feel like maybe his last really guitar driven album. That feels weird to say because he's such a guitar guy but he's definitely gotten much more expiramental over the last 6 or so years and has started to mix in all kinds of goofy instruments like nyckelharpor and stuff like. He's also started to use a lot more orchestral arrangements and has actually stepped his guitar playing way back into the mix. You can actually start to hear some of it creeping in ithis album. It really makes me wish Black Country Communion would release another album or he'd do a more rock focused side project again.
Anyway, it's a real good blues album with some awesome guitar stuff and solid tone.

Joe's newer stuff is very hit and miss for me as a lot of the off the wall touches kinda feel like him doing it just to be different and not really having a real clear goal of what he's wanting them to bring to the table compositionally.
He can still bring it in a cuttin' contest though:
My working theory with Joe is that he's basically so good he's gotten bored and is just kinda fucking around with stuff now.
Which is fine! I get it. But also a lot of his expiramentation is just not something I'm particularly in to and I hope he maybe gets back to his roots eventually.
Edit: like a lot of his early stuff (A New Day Yesterday, Sloe Gin, etc) he really showed out a lot but has since dialed waaaaay back.
Man, this is just a general appreciation post for the Scorpions.
I love the Scorpions. They're still making music and it's honestly still pretty great. Like, ok they aren't gonna top the billboards with this latest album but if you're looking for a real throwback, guitar driven rock album well buddy the Scorpions have got you covered.
Also, as a guitar player myself, Michael Schenker and Mattias Jabs are like, the pinnacle of tone for me. It's not enough to just plug a guitar into an amp, there's so much more that goes into it. But for straight up rock tone I always come back to the Scorpions as my bench mark. And goddamn, can Schenker shred. It's not mindless squeedly deedling either like you get all the time with a lot of bands trying to be hotshots. You can tell he's thinking about what he's doing from an actual knowledge standpoint, he's just doing it with the speed and precision of a fucking robot programed to kick ass and make you feel bad about yourself.

Got any recommendations? They're a band I feel I should Know more about but have literally never listened to
For me the big hitters are Blackout, Love At First Sting and Face the Heat, particularly Blackout is my all time favorite I think. I also like 2010's Sting in the Tail.
But basically every album from like, Lovedrive up will have at least one radio hit you've probably heard at some point.
edit: that's my favorite part of my brain. I listen to music constantly so I'm not alone with my thoughts, and I would hazard a guess that is why I get recognizable music is in most of my dreams

To add to this, while I love their full on Arena Rock days from the early 80's to now, their 70's output (with guitarist Uli Jon Roth) has some amazing cuts that barely get much rotation:
Also, I got my Schenkers mixed up. Rudolph Schenker is the Scorpions guitarist not Michael. Michael went off to join UFO and then started the Michael Schenker Group (which also kicks ass). Mattias Jabs replaced Uli Roth in the late 70's. So Klaus Meine, Rudolph Schenker and Mattias Jabs have more or less been the main line up since.

Mike's life/career are batshit insane. He recorded tracks for Lonesome Crow (Scorps album) when he was 16, joined UFO at 17, went full diva (with some mild bottle issues) and quit and founded MSG at 23/24, finally got clean in his early 50s and is still going strong.

As per usual I don't know what's more impressive, Hizaki's lead work or the fact he's shredding in a hoop skirt.

Do you need some drum&bass in your life? I say yes.

Sad folky song and it has a guy who is a real life Steve Dillon drawing in it:
Get in loser, we’re going to be melancholy.
Reminder that Lizzo can fucking sing.
Ohh I had listened to Scorpions then! I realise now that the stylistic change from the 70s to 80s made me think they were a different group.
