    Heat > Philly
    Bucks > Boston
    Luka > Suns
    Warriors > Grizz

    Heat > Bucks
    Luka > Warriors

That’s how we get the classic Heat/Mavs finals matchup

With the currently known 2nd round match-ups, I'll go:

    Heat in 6
    Celtics in 7
    Suns in 6

Ok, the Heat are allowed to play someone else in the Finals, but the Mavs are only allowed to play the Heat

    My predictions:

    Suns in 6
    Warriors in 6
    Celtics in 6
    Heat in 5

what I want to have happen:

    Mavs in 7
    Grizzlies in 7
    Bucks in 4
    76ers in 7.

Looking at these predictions, it reinforces for me what I already know. I'm a sports pessimist, I always assume the opposite of what I want will happen. Growing up a Kings fan will do that to a person.

    its almost KAT time
    get ready
i decided that even though i'd rather face the grizzlies, it'd be even better if this series went to a game 7 too, so its gotta be a wolves night

Think the Suns and Mavs close out tho

This is the darkest timeline, so 76ers probably win in a walk, with Embiid getting (more) injured at the end of the game.

Holy shit, this prediction really came true, didnt it. I hate that for embiid.

Chris Finch should be packing his bags after this game
the last 3 minutes of this game was absolutely baffling
thats three totally winnable playoff games that were lost in the final minutes at least partly due to bad coaching

Minnesota had a great second half of the season, but Memphis has been great all year. They were better in crunch time because they're the better team.

Guesses for the next round, from a person who doesn’t know shit:
    Heat over Sixers
    Fuck Harden.

    Bucks over Celtics
??? I feel like this could go either way, but I also have no strong feelings one way or the other.

    Suns over Mavs
I’m not a believer in Lukaball. If you rely on one guy too much, you’re doomed, no matter how good that guy is.

    Warriors over Grizz
    Because the Warriors.

For what it’s worth, the Mavs won 2 games vs the Jazz without Luka

I wouldn’t say they’re so much Luka centered as system centered (with that system being finely tuned for Luka or another guy that can approximate Luka as needed), which is why they got much better after shipping Porzingas off

Porzingis was always significantly overrated even during his best days. If he hadn't played for the a Knicks he'd be just another player.

Kings playoff drought got 2-3 more years till it hits college. I think they can make it.

Man, feels weird not having any games today when we had games every day for 2 weeks. 1st round, I always miss you when it's finished.

Guess this is a kings thread now.

As much as 02 sucked, it was really Webber's knee blowing out in 03 that ended any chance of a chip.

Hell I remember them playing Garnett's twolves in 04, it was like Webber and Doug Christie were the only ones still trying, Webber gets a pass on the breakaway that he before he would just dunk, but he had no confidence in his knee (or no actual hops anymore) and he goes for a weak layup instead and doesn't score. That was pretty much the epitome of the kings post his injury.

i mean if you want we can talk about the jail blazers since we have a lot of portland fans too
(warriors weren't doing much in that era except for assaulting our own coaches so I can't really contribute much except for talking shit about other teams. This is also why I don't sweat warriors haters. Our wilderness years (between Chris Mullin and Steph Curry) can go toe to toe with just about any other franchise's wilderness years. While you guys were all cheering for the likes of Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber, Bonzi Wells, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, etc we had Andris Biedrins. Guys we passed up on in the draft include Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O'Neal, TMac, and Steve Nash. I mean sure we had Gilbert Arenas for a little bit when he was kinda good and Boom Dizzle toiled away to keep us from abject mediocrity for a little but lets be real, we kinda ruined their careers too. I would put that 12 year span up against honestly just about any team in professional sports including the Browns and Lions. Even the pre 2015 Cubs. Portland and Kings fans think they know suffering. They know nothing.

And dl is right, the Warriors were an absolute joke of a franchise for a while, at best aspiring to be “fun Nelly-ball”ers

Wasnt it the Warriora whom the Kings just took the playoff drought record from? They definitely have plenty of suck.

My first bball game ever was a Warriors game, a bday present from my high school gf. We got to see Earl Boykins drop like 40 on the TWolves. KG even guarded him for most of the 4th quarter and got roasted.
