Nextlander did a stream that was just "let's watch the weird and awful and hilarious VHS shit that Alex collects" and it's a good time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5Mgv9i4KEM

Absolutely shocking yet deeply unsurprising at the same time. GB seems inseparable from JeffG but at the same time the current GB seems... separated from JeffG.
Is it just me or is it weird to start the statement:
Starting today, we want to enter a new era of transparency with you, the GB audience.
And then have no mention about why he's leaving or even who wrote the statement (it's just attributed to GB Staff). I'm not saying air all the laundry, but... maybe start with "We can't share a lot right now, but tune in tomorrow"?
Tough news, will be interested to hear what's next.
Also shouts out to Jan Ochoa who's really become a leader in these tumultuous times. Always glad to hear him at the reins of a podcast, quick look, or UPF.
I mean, whatever they say, Jeff WAS Giant Bomb. I'd already stopped subbing when Vinny, Brad and Alex left, and because the new site content wasn't really anything I was interested in, but Jeff was the cornerstone, the reason the site existed at all, the only reason I still kept tabs on it. Without him, no offense to the staff still there, but Giant Bomb is pretty much over, at least to me.
I feel like the whole Red Ventures merger is going to go down, rightly or wrongly, as the thing that killed Giant Bomb. Maybe it wouldn't have survived much longer under CBS either, but the merger led to such an exodus of talent that it really couldn't recover.
1) Silence 2) Books must be returned by the last date shown 3) Do not interfere with the nature of causality

Well, they're talking about GB, not about JeffG. It's not their job to explain why he's leaving -- that's up to him.

I especially love the way he does his closed captioning:
I think he was also running the PC-88 version and not the 98?

Dan has like 15 copies of that DVD.
Sure but that was his only blu-ray.
