I, Robot was 1983. Surely the first has to be an arcade game either way.

I totally forgot about that game. So pretty, especially for 1983.

Stare in wonder at Trilobyte's final game.
Not really. They helped with the 13th Doll.

For the mid 90's the animation in Clandestiny was top notch, right up there with the 2 main Discworld games and the Monkey Islands.

Yeah. I dug out the cds for it. They don't have it on gog.

Which is a shame, the world needs an FMV game featuring Oscar winner Christopher Walken going ham.

Both are very uneven in terms of their puzzles and plot pacing, but Black Dahlia has an interesting take on the case if you're familiar with Elizabeth Short's murder and Ripper has Walken at his most Walken, along with turns by John Rhys-Davies, Paul Giamatti, and Karen Allen, and is batshit insane.

Clandestiny works great on Windows 10. Probably because it had a great programmer.

Microsoft's maintenance of backwards compatibility is pretty legendary. They'll even emulate bugs for known broken applications

360 games still get updates from time to time, which is pretty cool.

It is both the biggest strength and biggest weakness of Windows as a platform.

I can't recall the name Coleco but I sure had a football game that looked and sounded like that. It even featured passing. Don't think I fully understood it though, needed Madden '93 to actually teach me the game.

Sometimes nothing. I've got an...unhealthy number of old visual novels from Windows 95 on my Windows 10 PC. And I suspect they'll even run on Windows 11.

Also Little Big Adventure 1 and 2. Vive le France.

More often than not it's the installer that's more problematic than the game itself.

What usually happens is that it is a 16bit installer. Allot of times, you can install it in a vm and then copy it to Win10 and it works. You can do that with Star Trek Borg.

The Destiny group I was in back when I had a PS4 was named the Kansas City Moon Wizards.

As an aside, the Driveclub group I was in was named Lemon Party.

I am going to try to finally get out of Trinsic in Ultima 7. It is amazing how much I bounce off that game. Bounced off back when I was in college 20 years ago.

EQ2 was an interesting experience for me. My friend convinced me to buy it and all the expansions. She then dumped me into this cave and told me to grind there till I hit a certain level. A random guild mate (were they called guilds? I can't remember) loaned me this sword and told me I could pay him back once I had enough money for it. Later found out by the time I raised enough money killing in the cave that he died in real life. Then by the time I could leave the cave my friend no longer wanted to play with me since she was too busy doing other things in the game. So after that I got bored and never played the game again since I learned it was a role playing server and nobody wanted to group up with a Dark Elf (she picked the race for me since they were all Dark Elves).

What was kind of interesting about Everquest 2 was that the land was pretty much in ruin. Apparently, there was some massive war and there were fields of bones. Also, there seemed to be a really bad problem with undead being everywhere. The hobbits were possessed too.

It cracks me up how they write absurd amounts of lore for these MMOs. It is nuts.

The single player games have much less lore, but the MMOs really lean into it.
