A way to play two or more videos simultaneously and in sync?

I'm looking for a special sort of video player program, a sort of VLC for playing two or more videos on the same time. Suggestion are very welcome.

A friend of mine does Auto-X* and he is filming his runs with a GoPro. I got the idea that it could perhaps be fun to compare the runs he does sort of like how they do on TV ie. playing two or more clips side by side, however to really do that a tool to control the playback is needed as using individual players is of limited use.

Ideally I would love a tool that lets you setup the exact start point on each of the videos to be played and then control play/pause/rewind and so with all the videos playing. I imagine the tool must be out there and that I just have not found the magic words to do a search that finds it.

*Auto-X or Autocross is short timed runs in a car on a course laid out on fx. a big parking lot. Literally any car can be used, it is really a great, cheap and safe way to learn more about handling your car. https://youtube.com/watch?v=7HF9NcIlvNU. People do runs in everything from their mothers SUV to actual race cars they bring on a trailer.

I found this site https://www.videodoubler.com/home when looking for ways to create simple YouTube mashups

Thinking about it, probably searching some forums about making video mashups might point you to useable software

Interesting, not sure the site will give the controls needed but I shall investigate. Thank you.
And also mashup is certainly a search word I have not tried, maybe it'ææ bring something.
