Product megafail for not putting a giant "E" on the bottle.
In fairness, I think it's meant to be shaped like a Mega Buster?
Now, whether shaping it like a Mega Buster instead of an E Tank is a fail in itself is another matter entirely, but for what they were going for, I think they might be able to be forgiven.
...should probably have a sectioned yellow bar down the side, though.

Honestly, I feel like this is the second-best game in the series, just narrowly behind the original.
Honestly, Mega Man X4 is my favorite of the X series, even beating the first one, which I love almost as much. Zero was a ton of fun to play in it. Then they messed him up in X5.

I can easily see it.
Had the best vehicle section of any X game, too, for my money.

Now you have me thinking of my tier list from each series. I'm only adding the games I've played though as I still haven't played X7 or X8, which I really need to since I have the collection. These are my favorite to least favorite for each series.
Original Series: 3, 4, 2, 5, 9, 11, 6, 1, 10, 7, 8 (I have always just loved Mega Man 3 and 4. Something about them just grabbed me as a kid. 2 was my first Mega Man game so it'll always be the toward the top of the list. 7 and 8 just never grabbed me much. They looked nice but they just were not nearly as fun for me. JUMP, JUMP, JUMP, SLIDE, SLIDE! I still have nightmares about those sections.)
X Series: X4, X1, X2, X3, X5, X6 (X4 and X1 are very close with how much I love them.)
Zero Series: Z2, Z3, Z1, Z4 (I'm less certain about this list as I've only played through each game once)
I haven't played the ZX games yet, but I will be adding that to my docket soon to play. I can't do a list of the Battle Network games though as I've only ever beaten 3. I have the series all on my Wii U so I'll hopefully play through them all at some point if I ever have the time. I wish they would make a Legacy Collection for them on PS4/Switch like the other series.
Mega Man 7 is one I really like for how unique it is. Basically, after seeing stuff like Contra III and Super Metroid and Super Castlevania IV, it's what I imagined a "Super Mega Man" would be like when they were calling it such before Mega Man X's arrival.
Plus, I love that ending, and it has one of my favorite Robot Masters!
Mega Man Zero... great series. Great, punishing series. I am glad there are some easier options on the collection for when I do finally bring myself to revisit them. 3 was my favorite, though -- that one I played to mastery, somehow.
I liked ZX, but not Advent so much. When I do finally replay it, I'm bumping down the difficulty, as it's apparently not congruous with the difficulty levels in the first game, and the final level pissed me off so much I literally threw the game card out of the bedroom and across the apartment.
BN I like, but I'm not very good at, specifically the final bosses. I hate them. The difficulty bump would be one thing, but dying and having to get back to the battle is the most tedious thing in the world, and just thinking about it makes me not want to play. I did love the first Star Force, though, and need to play 3. Random encounters in 2 were too much for me, though; I'd save, restart, and trying to figure out the cyber world maps in one part after doing that was impossible because you'd always get jumped before you could get your bearings and figure out where to head.

I personally don't. I never played the Japanese Super Famicom version on anything but an emulator with a keyboard back in the '90s, and tried the too-cropped, limited button Game Boy Advance version years later. I didn't care for either.
If Capcom ever bothers to release an English version of the Super Famicom game, then I might give it a serious go.
It sits with stuff like the Wonderswan version of the same name at its own little table.

The run they did at AGDQ reminded me of how good the music was. Ground Man's is my favorite but Pirate Man is a close second.

That sucks. I played an English ROM hack with a gamepad and enjoyed it. I thought it was better than MM8, which it borrowed a lot of assets from.
I can't say I agree with that take. The writing is bad in the X series because ... well, the writers did a bad job. Obviously a good writer could make something better with the same basic premise, it doesn't mean the premise itself is inherently terrible. The writing in the Classic series isn't really any better, but it's also barely there, giving a lot more leeway to fill in the blanks.

Agreed. While I see where they're coming from, I think in the same hands as the above, some gold could be spun from it.
(I mostly just wanted to share the comics pages, but why turn away a good discussion point, yeah?)

Multiverses are super hot right now. Have Mega Man Classic team up with the old animated MM and all the weird box art variants across titles and regions.

I was just going to share this! XD
That's pretty wild -- not just that it exists, but that it was hiding in plain sight for so long.
I recommend to anyone finding out about it here to click on the thread, as there's some other little capsules from the past there, too.
