Given their reply to that tweet, I don't think we'll be waiting long to get episodes on it.

By all rights, those games shouldn't be so entertaining to watch other people play them as they are.

Not that anyone asked, but here's my take on the candy tier list they did today (spoiled for image size):
    ge2yrpp6r5pe.png

To be fair, about half of my "idk what these are" are candies I know of, but either never tried or I'm pretty sure I've had them but don't remember what they are like at all.

I was surprised they couldn’t recognize Bit O’ Honey. But if they aren’t familiar with it the small image would make it hard to make out. They had pretty decent takes on the candy as a whole, I thought.

Necco wafers are straight garbage. They must have had them confused with something else.

Geez, 150k-250k views per video for a channel with 5.3M subs means less than 10% of their subscribers watch them now.

I imagine that's probably quite typical for a long-running YouTube channel; I checked a random recent Markiplier video for comparison and that's at 15% of his current subscribers. Personally, I'm not super into Eldern Ring or Danganronpa, so I haven't watched any Game Grumps that wasn't Horse Club Adventures for some time. I feel like our boys are at their best playing weird one-off games for a couple of episodes that they're actually enjoying rather than forcing themselves to play Popular Game #234235 because THE ALGORITHM told them it would get them the views.

I think I actually spend more time on Game Grumps Compilations than the actual show now. Being able to queue up 3 hours of a single game or theme or whatever and have it run while I work is the way to go. I don't really have any interest in rewatching Elden Ring episode 9 or whatever.

I'm on Observation Duty GGC has been watched more than a few times though. Love that series.

I'll be honest, recently I've mostly been watching their Danganronpa 2 episodes (also Taco Tom 2 because WTF).

EDIT: Dan is losing his mind in these last few Danganronpa 2 episodes. It's glorious.

EDIT 2: I decided to listen to the Ghost Hunters Adventure Club audio book they put up on the channel. I gotta admit that the ending of chapter one caught me off guard.

The recent twist in DR2 is interesting but it's also driving me a little crazy
Nagito 100% committed suicide. Just because someone else threw the grenade with the poison in it, he put it there and set it up so that it would happen. The logic in the Peko Peko murder laid out that a person can kill and still not be the Blackened because they were a tool, a weapon, of the real killer. Peko was only executed because Fuyuhiko admitted that he didn't order her to kill. It's clear that none of the living people knew that they'd be throwing poison, so Chiaki wasn't a murderer. Just getting annoyed that the game isn't following its own logic. I could be missing something, but Nagito was the killer in that case (similar to Sakura in DR1).

The rules are whatever Monokuma says they are, and he'll always pick whatever interpretation causes the most despair, so it makes sense that he would go along with a plot like Nagito's. If they had voted it a suicide they would have completely missed the entire point of the setup. He certainly wasn't going to let them do that after they figured out the truth.

Oh my god, Arin's gumshield for the boxing match actually says "THE ONE WHO WINS".

I can't believe how close I got to the answer of this case while still being miles off.

    I am 100% calling the
    Trapped in a simulation thing.

It's the only thing that makes remote sense, them using basically magic to bring Monokuma to life. Chiaki basically being a robot or AI like Monomi.

Spoilers on the boxing match for those who want to watch it for themselves:
For starters Harley has a significant height and weight advantage on Arin. Arin seems to be in the unfortunate position of being a heavyweight, but only just, so he can be matched against somebody three inches taller and seventy pounds heavier and that's okay, apparently.

Round 1: Arin does good, he doesn't get immediately flattened, which was a strong possibility given the size disparity between him and Harley. I would say Arin's technique is better, but Harley is no slouch either, couldn't call the who won round between the two of them, but Arin looks significantly more battered.

Round 2: Harley starts to flag, but so does Arin, and being the faster of the two was the only real advantage he had. Harley lands some big hits and Arin can't recover, TKO, Harley wins.

Our boy did good. He lost, but to his credit at least stayed on his feet the whole time against a much bigger opponent who had been training longer.

I was googling around to find out what the weight disparity was for that and jesus harold christ Arin you champ
(Also, it's all for a good charity time but still, might have been more interesting if the weight and height disparity wasn't so ridiculous)

Just so everyone knows, weight classes in boxing can be anywhere from 4 to 7 lbs of difference.

Seventy pounds of difference is insane.

Until you get to Heavyweight, which is just 200lbs+ which is how you get fights like this. And I was mistaken, its actually closer to 60lbs difference, but still, damn.

Heavyweight and/or super heavyweight are “anything goes,” basically. But there’s a lot that goes in there what with stamina and putting on weight.

I feel for Arin, as a formerly chunky teenager who was doing martial arts for a bit, I would inevitably get put into the same weight class as much older and fitter kids. Turns out a tall, slightly overweight 14-year-old weighs about the same as a very fit 16-year-old or a shortish adult man, and I'm very lucky one of them never kicked my head clean off.

I heard scuttlebutt that Arin was put in because a bunch of other people that were a much closer height/weight were originally billed but had to pull out for various reasons. Dunno how true that is though. All the comments gassing up Harley's training kind of seems funny to me in that the whole thing was so lopsided I don't think intensive boxing training would have made much of a difference anyway

I mean they both looked fine, but Harley is just bigger and taller. The thing Arin had going for him was speed, but when you both gas out in round 2, yeah Harley is gonna win. I also heard that Arin joined later and didn't train as much, but again the size speaks for itself. You can only train so much for that.

Mad props to Arin for even getting in the ring.

On that, Arin's best strategy for beating a bigger, taller opponent would be to rope-a-dope. It's a classic strategy for a reason!

I went back and started watching the first Danganronpa playthrough. It's hard to believe that just about a year or so ago they had no idea what Danganronpa was at all.

Arin: "It's 7:10 AM. The ultimate time!"
Danny: "You remember like ten minutes ago when a teddy bear shot a man into space?"

Watching a person get mad trying to beat a hard game over and over hasn’t been funny since the kaizo trend like 15 years ago, so Elden Ring would be an awful long-term series, especially since it’s a Souls game AND open world which sounds like a nightmare Grumps series.

I am still down for that kind of thing as long as it's edited down to highlights, enjoy a good troll mario maker level run by a streamer.

I was sad they quit where they did. There is some good stuff coming up :3 Oh well, next weekend.

Also love Arin's propensity to be both right and wrong about something at the same time
He said "aren't we the remnants of despair?" which, yes, but I'm pretty sure based on the context in which he said it, his brain wasn't processing what that actually meant because he thought Junko's followers had a different name.

Also, he said "If it's a virtual world, everyone is just alive then" which, technically yes and technically no? :P In the context of this game, no, if you die in the Matrix you die in real life :P But also technically yes because the Danganronpa 3 anime
totally revived literally everyone and un-did all the deaths in this game (the ending of this game hints that this is possible but the chances are low). Except for Chiaki of course because she was an AI :3
    (imbedded spoilers ftw)

BTW, that anime is fun if you enjoy this series. It's basically a sequel to DR2 (Future Arc) + prequel to DR1 (Despair Arc). Recommend watching the episodes alternating (even though literally no one presents them this way for some reason) - Future Arc, then Despair Arc, then Future, etc. This is how it originally aired in Japan and despite both arcs taking place at different time periods the episodes complement each other when watched this way. The anime is also why Danganronpa v3 is called v3 and not just 3 :P (among other reasons :3). God I can't wait for them to get to that game.

What the fuck is happening in dgr2

Gonna guess that the person who was being talked to in the boat wasn't the protag, but that kid what did the murders in the documents, the ultimate hope.

Also gonna guess that Junko's hand is the reason why the simulation went off the rails and how monokuma showed up. It seems like exactly DGR logic for that to happen.

I have a horrible thought and I hope it isn't right. Severe speculation
The people removed from the simulation are all the people who were in Junkos little group, they've all got body parts, and the simulation was manipulated by Naegi (who is controlling monokuma) to protect those people and get them out (for reasons I don't understand). Hence the email about him protecting them. So none of the game was deterministic and instead "it's a computer program" and if that's the case I would be disappointed as hell.
