    What really threw me on today's Redactle
    The word "round" was a freebie, and it showed up capitalized. Sent me down a rabbit hole of tournaments and playoffs and even elections.

    And then I saw how it's used in context and knew I never would have gotten it that way

    I went through every variations of sports and drafting and weird King Arthur mythology that I could think of. Also cooking because I'm hungry.

    I solved today's Redactle (#42) in 45 37 probably less than that, >16 guesses with an accuracy of 46.67%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

    God damn it redactle
    also went down the sports hole for the first ten.
    But then saw "after World War II" and got World out of that at 10.
    Fumbled around trying to guess names of political organisations, as they're the only names with "World" that aren't Sports or charity and yeah, organisation was guessed early at 16, with Trade at 37.
    Eventually started guessing the acronym and got WTO, and realised I needed organization instead.

    I had started "cheating" too, by googling "organisation synonym"

    Could have done it sooner, but it was clear it was about a person and with some basic tries, I had nationality and profession and rough time period. Spend a bit too much time on wrong names rather than narrowing down some things that would have made things quicker

    Knew it was a person before I guessed anything. Literally my first guess was "He".

    Unfortunately “author” was not in the opening paragraph, and only appeared 9 times in the whole article, and I spent an eternity trying well known political, sports, military, and other historical figures that would have had books written about them rather than by them.

    Fuck.
