The current deadlift world record is 501 kg, held by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (The Mountain from GOT). Only one other guy (Eddie Hall) has been able to do 500 kg. To be able to lift an awkwardly shaped rock that weighs that much more. . .

While this is a cool story, there are some aspects that I somewhat doubt.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, Gama sounds like a right proper awesome fellow, but, definitely some of the stories around him seem to have entered firmly into the realm of myth and legend.

For example, while I am sure the guy no doubt ate a prodigious amount of food, but I’ve seen articles saying 10L milk mixed with1.5lbs almond paste, Half litre of ghee, 6lbs butter, three buckets of fruits,2 muttons,6 chickens.

Which is like 40k calories a day, like, Michael Phelps for reference was 10k.

Sounds like an amazing dude but the info around him is pretty Bill Brasky territory.

I do wrestling though, and learning about him has got me looking into Indian wrestling conditioning and mace training, which seems like some good times.

seems like y'all ain't ever heard of louis cyr

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Cyr
While several of Cyr's feats of strength may have been exaggerated over the years, some were documented and remain impressive. These included:

lifting a platform on his back holding 18 men for a total of 4,336-pound (1,967 kg)
lifting a 534-pound (242 kg) weight with one finger
pushing a freight car up an incline
At 19 years old, he lifted a rock from ground up to his shoulder, officially weighted at 514 pounds[4]
He beat Eugen Sandow's bent press record (and therefore the heaviest weight lifted with one hand) by 2 pounds (0.91 kg) to a total of 273 pounds (124 kg).[5]

Perhaps his greatest feat occurred in 1895, when he was reported to have lifted 4,337 pounds (1,967 kg) on his back in Boston by putting 18 men on a platform and lifting them.[6] One of his most memorable displays of strength occurred in Montreal on 12 October 1891. Louis resisted the pull of four draught horses (two in each hand) as grooms stood cracking their whips to get the horses to pull harder, a feat he again demonstrated in Ottawa with Queen Victoria's team of draught horses during her royal visit.[citation needed] While in Ottawa he volunteered with the police when they took deputies to round up a local gang of miscreants; they turned him away claiming he would be too slow due to his bulk. He challenged the regular officers to a foot race, beating the majority, and they took him on.[2]

So what we're saying is that Dionysus was a hybrid between a Raccoon and a Kea.

    I'll buy it.

Kea, notably, have a song/noise for let's play! If you play this at Kea, their response is "great idea mysterious disembodied Kea!" And they start to party down with each other

also how could we not mention the very best of the super-strength men

Andre the Giant! He lifted an actual ton, on TV! He would lift grown men like children! he could carry like ten kids at once, just hanging off of him.
He farted for sixteen seconds on the set of the Princess Bride! Rob Reiner said "Are you OK, André?" and he replied, "I am now, boss.”

The fart thing was also his favored method against other wrestlers he didn't like, back when he was in the ring. He'd pin them, position on their face, and fire the bass cannon
