Man, I feel really bad for Porky in Simplicity. He's the only non-Korean on his team and the few times they switched to team comms he's the only one speaking English. He mentioned it was a hurdle last week during an interview.
It feels like a very fragmented team and their performance is showing it, getting completely destroyed every game so far. First game today even Porky was changed to a different role than his standard (tank?).
This is speculation but that's gotta feel really rough for him if he's isolated this way.
The amount of content the HotS dev team has been putting out is really bad. Like realistically I'd expect even a very small team to be doing more than they are. But this does look cool
Hey HotS thread. I know not all of us are Facebook friends and whatnot, so I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop: I was involved in a pretty serious accident this morning -- a school bus in the opposite lane put its lights on / sign out, so I pulled over and stopped, and while I was waiting for the kids to board a semi smashed into the back of my SUV. My vehicle is totaled, but I feel like I'm okay?
I went to the ER to make sure (his commercial insurance is paying for it, so fuck it let's go), and they're letting me off of work the rest of the week to rest. I need to use that time to get a rental car figured out for the time being and also just a new car in general.
People keep telling me it's a miracle I walked away from it. I dunno about all that, but I wanted to keep you guys posted in case you heard I was in an accident or whatever. I'm good, I'm safe, everything is okay.

Glad you're feeling OK! Some injuries take a while to show up, especially internal ones, so please do be careful and aware of any changes.
Crazy that a semi driver would just straight up plow into you... He could very well lose his commercial license for it, especially given traffic was stopped for a school bus.
Yeah it was just me in the car on my way to work. Which I'm thankful for, for sure. The back half of the car where they would have been seated was basically crushed.
Rough night in ranked. 3 straight losses before I bounced to avoid tilt. Mix of incompetent micro, complete macro unawareness and incompetent drafting.
Tell you what. It's a special sort of feeling to land a mosh pit that hits literally every enemy and your Raynor is next to you shooting the nightmare while the 1/4 health kael walks away to tap the well. Feels. Feels real bad, man.
Took my zag out for QM.
Went top and did my thing in my solo lane vs azmo, little victories here and there.
My allies stayed mid and got 3 kills early. "Nice" I thought to myself.
Oh how naive... young mig.
They had missed 100% of the first 4 waves in the bottom lane so we were almost a full level behind.
.... ugh....
Fast forward and after a lot of aggression we were ahead. They had no buildings left, we had only lost a fort.
"Challenge accepted" yelled our hogger and goes in 1v5 when there's no reason to fight, no one else was anywhere near. You can guess how the rest of the game went.

hey so the fuck is going on with stitches' talents rn
I landed on this but I'm. perplexed why he has an autoattack build now (though chop chop *is* very funny), and also why he has two level 7 talents that do basically the same thing in different proportions (weak all the time heal cut+weak gas healing vs strong long CD heal cut+strong gas healing), especially when the "vile gas heals you" talent has always been garbage bc it deals vanishingly little damage to begin with. Why's there two of them? Did heroesfire fuck up one of their updates and there should only be one here?
anyway, this is what I landed on what I'd probably do https://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talent-calculator/stitches#oRab
the armor lvl 1 also seems good, particularly if mobs from like BoE/garden count, but even if not any long dragged out teamfight objectives would be good for it
playtime+pulverizer would be very funny but taking a level 4 talent that only really has an impact at 16 seems sus
digestive juices definitely is a talent I'd like to pick but man it's on the same tier as pulverizer.
Yeah, there should only be one of those Level 7 talents: Putrefaction is the current option. I wanted to chime in about the "'vile gas heals you' talent has always been garbage bc it deals vanishingly little damage to begin with" comment, if I could, because the value of that choice has always been weighted much more heavily on the mortal strike element of the talent, rather than the self-sustain.
Vile Gas lasts for 4 seconds, and Stitches can apply it to all enemies struck by Slam every 8 seconds after level 4 with Vile Cleaver, meaning he can maintain a 40% healing reduction across multiple enemy Heroes with about 50% uptime in a fight. That's huge. And after level 16, Slam can also apply a brief 70% Slow and reduce enemy Armor by 10% for 3 seconds. He can be a very potent team-fighter in that regard - super oppressive to actually go toe-to-toe with, because you're constantly Slowed, mortal struck for 40% and have negative Armor, and obviously the longer you engage with him, the more likely you are to get Hooked and kidnapped, commonly ending the fight immediately.
The build you linked is fine, but obviously be wary of locking in talents ahead of time. Play the match you're in. This is one of those things that Pallytime would always do in his videos -- he would talk about a great build he read about, and he'd jump into Quick Match to show it off, with no regard for whether or not that would be the best build to play for that particular matchup he was in. Shit drove me crazy, lol.
Stitches has many strong talent choices and a number of reliable builds. And just like with any other Hero, the "best" build is always the one that makes the most sense for the game you're in. The one that helps your team the most, accentuates not only your strengths as a player but also the strengths of the character, and that mitigates the enemy's strengths as much as possible.

When the other team has so much mobility, or so many escapes & saves, that a successful hook can't guarantee a kill. Putrid Bile is basically a giant slow debuff that you dump on the other team to force them to fight - typically you want to use it by flanking from out of vision and running behind/around the other team.
So, eating someone and transporting them away to be murdered is obviously a great thing
What's the scenario where you would go slime trail?
Gorge is really strong: you can use it to disjoint a big incoming heal like an Anscestral; you can use it to trade ults against something like a Nano-Boosted Malthael or a Stim-Drone'd Illidan; you can use it to kidnap someone from long-range and force a pick; etc. But there are definitely cases in which you might want Putrid Bile --
Does the enemy team have access to a reliable means of saving Gorged heroes? Like an Anduin, Medivh, etc? Are they capable of hard-engaging and collapsing on Stitches to prevent him from leaving with the Gorge target? Like Anub'arak, Mei, etc? Is your team generally incapable, for some reason or another, of following up on a Gorge? Does the enemy team have a lot of melee (which require movement speed to be effective), or are they lacking in mobility cooldowns that would allow your team to dive on them with Slows and just overwhelm their comp?
All of those times would be instances in which you might consider grabbing Bile over Gorge.

Medivh by himself is a good example of when you might consider just not taking Gorge. Kidnap memes not withstanding, it's another reason he tends to get drafted with Stitches, too.

You take gorge if you’re a pick comp and can reliably get picks. You take the gas ult to deal with diving teams and help give your team peel.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Munkus has my take on Bile; sometimes you need peel against dive, and Stitches only has it if you pick Bile. Also, dive teams usually just follow Stitches and re-engage post Gorge as ducks notes.

It depends on the type of dive you're talking about. Gorge is extremely good against heroes that initiate hard with time-limited buffs active (Meta/Stim-Drone Illidan, let's say).
Bile is stronger against multiple melee and general dive.

Yeah I'd qualify that as hypercarry, which another situation for gorge. If removing one character from a fight for a few seconds means you win it: gorge.

Yeah, even if you can't get picks, I consider Gorge as a stasis ability that at the very least is guaranteed to turn a fight into a 5v4 for five seconds. That alone usually gets more value than Bile. Especially with the lvl 20 talent that lets you Gorge multiple, easily cutting the other team in half for some precious seconds.
I only ever take Bile if I thought I couldn't get Gorge picks AND the enemy team was melee heavy and relying on move speed.
