They can look so good, but yeah, especially when your tit pops out of your bra, so it's rubbing against the shirt, but also being rubbed against a stiff material and you also feel a bit exposed even though you're not.

Or trying to wear a shirt, but not let them show through. It hard.

Corsini and Mugsley got back from scavenging, bringing us another pair of elerium cores.

Currently, they're deployed with the Templars to help develop an improvement to our sniper rifle designs.

    Operation Heaving Flame
Resistance sources tipped us off to an ADVENT airlift of supplies out of the ruins of Beijing. Iolo, ThatHatBoy, @Tumin, cooljammer00, @Shivahn, and Betsuni were deployed to disrupt the airlift and secure the supplies for XCOM. A resistance operative named Stephen Wilson and a defecting ADVENT stunlancer joined them on-site. The squad approached the airlift by way of an elevated railway, and then crossing over into an adjacent building via its fire escape. We found a stunlancer and captain in the alley below, and after a brief setup by the squad Shivahn hopped down and made contact. This activated not just the pair in the alley and some nearby lost, but a pair of mutons and an archon that were in the ground floor of building. Hunter protocol wounded the stunlancer and killed a lost. Tumin, hidden on the top floor, opened a void rift on the mutons. Both were wounded, and getting a follow-up insanity allowed Tumin to finish one off. The stunlancer had taken cover by one of the supply crates to be airlifted, so Iolo dashed in to finish it with a rend, slapped a fulton on the crate, and used their momentum to park next to the surviving muton. Shivahn and cooljammer00 gunned down the archon, and Bestuni and the stunlancer gunned down the captain. That just left the muton, and the moment it moved a muscle Iolo cut it down with a bladestorm.

The squad wasn't afforded time to catch their breath however, as a pod of a mec, shieldbearer, and trooper out in the street patrolled into range at the same time that two of the supply crates activated their pickup beacons. Betsuni, implacable, was able to shotgun and grapple their way through incoming lost to slap fultons on both crates before ADVENT could retrieve them. The rest of the squad closed on the new pod. A remote start from ThatHatBoy nearly killed the trooper, and a blaster bomb from cooljammer00 finished the job and damaged the mec. A null lance from tumin, and the mec went down as well. That just left the shieldbearer, but it was at the edge of our range. While our troops may have been able to advance and take it out, they'd be risking overextending and making contact with the last pod, which we believed would contain a gatekeeper. With most of the squad unable to immediately act should that happen, and the shieldbearer most like to just use the opportunity to activate its energy shield, we let it live. It acted as we expected, and then Shivahn punched through its shield and our stunlancer stabbed through its chest.

With no active aliens, the squad moved out into the street to cull the lost that had been building up, tag supply crates, and find that last pod. Before long, another pair of supply crates activated their beacons, on opposite ends of the street. Shivahn activated overdrive to get one, while Betsuni dashed over in concealment to get the other. Upon reaching it, however, Betsuni found the last pod: two mutons and a gatekeeper. Tagging the supply crate would give away their position. Tumin was able to provide an inspire to Betsuni that could be used to get away from the pod after doing so, but the squad wasn't in position to engage these enemies yet. That meant the gatekeeper might get to do something, and generally you never want a gatekeeper to get to do something. Nonetheless, the call was made for Betsuni to tag the crate. They did so, then ran like hell to break line of sight on the pod. Iolo spent both of their teamwork charges so ThatHatBoy could move up, sticky claymore the gatekeeper, and then banish it. Despite a solid burst grouping, the gatekeeper survived, if only barely. Our stunlancer, however, had a shot on the gatekeeper as well, despite poor odds landed a killing blow. The mutons still had a chance to act, which in hindsight could've actually gone badly as well. One just fragged some lost, but the other popped a few with its plasma rifle before putting a shot into ThatHatBoy as well. Their plate ate the worst of it, but there's a world where the first muton fragged ThatHatBoy, and the second crit them for a kill. Still, the mutons did not do that. cooljammer00 moved in, the sight of the rage suit panicking one of the mutons into blasting away the cover of the other. Tumin mind controlled the panicking one one into wounding its friend, and Betsuni closed back in to finish it off. ADVENT didn't get a single crate out of this airlift.

    Ss87oNsl.png
Normally when a mission photo is cluttered and janky I try to clean up the positioning a bit, but this one was so much I kinda had to keep it as is. Iolo and Betsuni Jojo posing, Tumin only visisble through the crook of Shiv's arm, cooljammer00 kneeling on open air.

    cooljammer00 was promoted to colonel.

Tumin killed a muton and a mec.
Iolo killed a stunlancer and a muton.
cooljammer00 killed an archon and a trooper.
Betsuni killed a captain and a muton.
Our stunlancer killed a shieldbearer and a gatekeeper.

He's definitely still very anxious being in an unfamiliar place but he's agitated by cars. Which, I get it, cars are terrible.

At Amazon’s re:MARS conference, the company announced it’s working on a feature that can synthesize short audio clips of a person’s voice and then reprogram it as longer speech. Amazon’s Senior Vice President and Head Scientist for Alexa, Rohit Prasad, showed off a demonstration where, as TechCrunch described, “the voice of a deceased loved one (a grandmother, in this case), is used to read a grandson a bedtime story.”

Prasad noted that the company can do this sort of audio output with merely a minute of speech before continuing: “The way we made it happen is by framing the problem as a voice conversion task and not a speech generation path.”
Why do so many tech people not understand why this is creepy as heck.

i dont know but all these things where you use a neural network to make a dead person do or say something are very offputting. Idk who they are for because I would not care to experience this sort of resurrection and I cannot imagine anybody who would want anything like this.

the only good use I can think of is to use them to reconstruct a piece of authentic media in higher quality. like if you wanna train a network on my grandma's appearance and voice to change a damaged 240i home movie to 4k, or take a historical event and reconstruct it in 3D or something, then sure.

Restore a dead president's speech that's available only as a terrible radio broadcast, using clips of their voice from higher quality sources.

Interesting. I only crisp one side (the side that was cut, so without skin) and mine were reasonably crisp but definitely not mushy at all. I wonder if the time braising in the sauce is less than I indicated.

I suspect this is due to different ways that people regard death in different cultures or regions.

Like there are people who keep altars to dead loved ones in their homes or keep their rooms as-is long after they're gone.

Oh yeah this is definitely not a crispy potato recipe. I do the initial searing on the cut side to get that one plane crispy. But otherwise I think it’s too wet- I wouldn’t expect it to crisp up. You could go really high heat in the oven if you want, to get more of a roasted potato finish. But it’d have to be pre sauce, I think (the sugars would burn)

Chorus is done! The plot became fairly predictable, though not knowing the exact timeline of things kind of threw off the "big reveal." I firmly believe that the game wasn't up for the controls they gave it, as once again the final boss taking 40 minutes simply because I had to juke so much crap is... annoying. But I will say, by the end I felt SUPER powerful, which was a nice feeling. It was a good progression.

I would jump into FF7R like I said now, but I really need to make some NPCs or figure out my basics for Saturday.
