Help me find this artist please

So in 2010 or so my father sent me this postcard
842i5ah7nppy.png

I recently tried to find the artist and reverse image searching only revealed that this is the cover for a book by American novelist Tao Lin

That appears to be the German version of one of his works, but I'm having a hard time finding any further info. I really love this image and was hoping to find more from the artist. Any help is appreciated

Quick Google search had an Austrian bookshop site that said "cover: okart." Not really that helpful.

Maybe you can write to the publisher, Dumont, and ask them?

It appears I fell down a rabbit hole.

Anyway, the book "Gute Laune" or "Good Mood" by Tao Lin was published in German by German publishing monstrosity DuMont in 2009. This link goes to the site for the division that handles literature publishing, and near the bottom there's a link you can use to email them questions about their books. They might be able to tell you directly where they got the image. I mean, I would hope they can. This book is the only place you can find that image as far as I can tell, and when you look up the book itself you almost need to be looking at a picture of a physical copy as most sites seem to just replace the image with the cover of Taipei, Lin's more recent and more successful book. At this point I find it more likely your dad chopped it off an actual book he found than bought it at a store.

Assuming it is a real postcard he bought at a store, you can also look for the copyright mark on the back and try to contact whoever owns the image.

You can try reaching out to Lin via twitter or something, but it seems he is a character and I'm not sure he'd necessarily know the details of whatever the German publisher slapped on there anyway.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

I've since lost the postcard but it was absolutely a real postcard, he usually buys them secondhand at Goodwill. I'll try giving them a contact regardless. Thanks for the help so far!

Actually I googled "repeat your mistakes" postcard and someone else had it too! It's apparently part of a collection called "20 Free Designer Postcards"

It appears that it's compiled by two artists who run a small design shop called FL@33 and I found the website for that specifically. I can contact them there but who knows if it's still actively in use. Probably my best lead!

    https://www.flat33.com/

They even show the art book on the front page

Amusingly, I can buy it on Amazon used (but probably missing the postcards) for 5 bucks or new... For 100 dollars. Even though their own site sells it for 20 euros lmao

The book itself ended up having a website with a list of contributions
    http://www.postcard-book.info/ENG_02_info.html

Here's the list of artists for the postcards:

Contains 20 free designer postcards to send or
collect by Daniel Eatock, Juju’s Delivery,
    Jeremyville, 123Klan, Geneviève Gauckler,
    Catalina Estrada, Marion Deuchars, Hellovon,
    eBoy, Gregory Gilbert-Lodge, Supermundane,
Anthony Burrill, Tabas, Rinzen, Andrzej Klimowski,
Yorgo Tloupas, Mark Adams, Elisabeth Lecourt,
Vaughan Oliver at v23 and FL@33.

So now I just gotta see if these have art online I can check for but hey, I'm almost done
