Another rough Guild Wars opponent. I'm starting to get really tired of running into Summertime Iseria in PVP. Whenever I use her against others she's not nearly as effective as she is against me. I wish I could see the gear my opponents are using for her, so I can get some idea how to build her to be more effective.
Also does anyone else run into the issue in PVP where enemies with Counter Attack, seems to counter 90% of the time, instead of the 30% it's supposed to be, while your own characters only seem to counter attack 10% of the time. Rather frustrating. I especially seem to run into that with Violet countering me.

Right side counterattack gets a buff. It is known.
But yeah, counter always feels like it works better for the enemy than for you, just like resist and follow-up attacks. It's just RNG messing with you though.
As for Iseria, she's a pain because she's always paired with a super fast Ran or Piera who's using Silver Rain. I can't compete with those speeds so I try to pick some other defense team. At least most of the Hwayoung teams rely on her so Yulha does a good job ending that little threat.

Ooh yeah. Put her in the free Health set pieces and Hwayoung will attack her every time, but almost never kill her. Then proceed to delete one unit of your choice.
Use HP% boots, you can get 30-32k HP which will survive most HWA's by itself. Unless they are doing the Coq + Piera (or other attack buffer). I have Holy Sac on her so I can use her to delete a different unit and keep HWA busy for a few more turns.

Holy Sacrifice is just mean on her. That's why I use it.
Yeah holy sac or proof is the safe route. If you do not want to invest into Yulha you could do blue coli as well who scales into even whale territory to just kill Hwa before she goes. You have a chance of 15% that route but you do in almost all circumstances outside of yulha so /shrug. It is the safest other route. Hwa hasnt been a problem for a long while. It is apoc ravis and now Chouxs.... and of course all the 100% counter Merus.

We got lucky in this start of the season for GW and made it into top 100!
We then got destroyed by Mango7s primary guild. But I killed Mango 7s comp and one of the main towers so I beat a top 50 main tower! The leads were all like 320 speed so I just T2 them as it was piera comp on one and the other ml lilias. So dj basar on one and ldoms on the other and they died. Easymode.
This ML "selector" is funny. I wonder how much reddit is whining about not just giving a selector but making it a fun little mini game instead.
Edit: Also it may just be a bug i guess but reports are that upper end hp dmg of Hwa was only really affected by like a few % points so they may have just nerfed her properly for low hp units but still can do what she needs to with high hp.
Edit2: Yeah if you can get her HP down (the new sets are going to be key here) then she will still one shot hp sponges unless ultra protected. It looks like they actually nerfed her properly but you wouldnt know that looking online lol.
Yep, reading some early reports, her S3 still kicks if they are a high HP bruiser or tank. Which was what her role was supposed to be to start. Not sure she needed the S3 CD increase since they removed her other stuff, but she should still be a good tank buster unit.
I think I might go Ameru for my ML selection. She was just in the coin shop (only had 30 coins, now I have 60), so she's probably not coming back anytime soon. MLCeline or Riolet would be my other options.
Yeah I am still eyeballing ML Celine but I also do not have Ruele or Belain so those would probably be better options for how my comps work. But if Hwas top end dmg is still good perhaps not heh. Riolet is live or die but those 250+ riolets that can still near one shot things are crazy heh. Ameru ive had since she came out and she is great. I want to regear mine out for one of those dmg tanky ones i see from time to time but dont have the gear for it. Those are a pain int he ass even if she isnt turning any off the constant aoes heh.

I'm thinking of getting Martial Artist Ken for my free ML 5 Star. Either him or maybe ML Lilias, or ML Ara. I've gotten a bit lucky lately with ML characters with the free event draws. Got Sage Vivian today with the 7 day Arky event reward, and Inferno Khawazu yesterday from my free 10 pull. Neither of which I had before.

Flan since she steals a buff at 75% is SOOOO much more fun. Throw unseen observer on your seaseria and throw seaseria arti on your flan. We are up against a top 100 guild right now and I got a "win" on my defense of ran/seaseria/mlflan.... I lost but what looks to have happened is that my ML flan and opposing riolet was last standing and S1'd the Riolet putting the bomb up. Due to E7 ordering Riolet most likely full stacked S3d into my Ml Flan but then proceeded to get exploded. Fun times. I have yolod against many chars with immunity up and won every time so far heh. Steal immunity. Put bomb. Esplode it. You want speedy gear with eff on it though. Mine is 230 with 4k attack and 200 eff. And she just works. I still get Destinas that laugh at her but I think that is just losing the 50/50s i dont think ive come across 300+ eff res destinas yet.
That said I use DJB ALL the time since he is basically a hard counter to Piera on D if you have the speed gear for him. I use him and Ldoms soooo much since people still leave piera and clilias as sole speed lead on teams and ive beat top 50 defenses with those two.

I mean im still capped at 280 or so... so i feel ya heh. You just have to be faster than the follow up. My DJ is 250 and he works. Sometimes I run across an opposing ML Celine or the like faster as the follow up but not all that often heh.

My fastest is 245. I haven't gotten a right side piece over 12 speed, and my left side I think tops at 16.
Well like always adjust to your goals and where you are at right? At 250 he probably is still too fast for 99% of the play ive just been getting miid range rolls of speed and nothing to bump up my cap for a long time now so i have a bunch at mid 200s. But this is also my only gacha heh.
Depending on comp you might not need him much faster than 200 for follow up. Piera does tend to be with casino comps too.
Also yeah just pick who you want to have fun with heh. ML Flan is really fun and with her 30% dmg to front she has much more survive.

I've honestly just been changing who I'm gearing instead. I'm never going to get my speed to the stratosphere, so getting a good counter Dilibeth going has been a really nice bonus. She's not top of the line, but she's close enough to do some real damage.
And that S3 is still the funniest damn thing in the game.

Tons of great options there. S.Tene is S tier still, tons of uses. DJB is fantastic, use him a lot against FCC and Piera. TML just got a buff and I’m using her quite a bit more (though speed gear might limit you here). And Straze is used in 1-shot teams and with the hwa nerf is back to the main tank buster.

Forgot to mention, another one I've been having a lot of fun with is Choux. I always liked her, but after her rebalance she's kind of a quiet 6* base. Really damn good.
Choux is Charles 2.0 heh. She will single handedly destroy your team. She also follows Charles by critting green often heh. Her artifact too is much higher than 20% on defense as ive emptied an entire speed team into her without a crit. She is fun to use though if she works for your but you know she never seems to.
Riolet is also veeeeery good after the buff. If you have ervalen arti and a good enough lifesteal set for him.
I'm still debating between Riolet and ADS for my ML5*. I'm leaning ADS since she fits my play style more. I wish Riolet was Light element, if so I'd probably pull him. But right now all my ST high DPS units other than W. Schuri are dark which with CLilias can be tricky.
I had Riolet ungeared until a day ago really. I geared him because I havent used any of my lifesteal units outside of Violet in awhile so I distilled them down to Riolet. He is still very much live or die by. But he feels so much more dangerous now.

Spirit Eye Celine has a decent set of lifesteal gear that I'll only ever remove if I get upgrades. She's too much fun.
She can be in the right comps. A Ras has made her even tougher since once you get her past HP point 1, she gets a massive shield. Likewise pairing her with Belian, removes a ton of units 'attack again' options that are used to counter her. She's not impossible, but defiantly a frustrating unit to go against, especially if geared well. The ones with 220-230 speed are really annoying.
EDIT: Personally I wouldn't go for LQC unless your a collector and she's the last unit. I haven't used her in ages as she can't do her main job of dark bruiser killer. Now she may get another buff, so who knows.

I use her to pop all sorts of teams. Not for ARavi because she's still busted, but you can bring her to wreck Straze or CZerato and watch the overdamage last waste to the entire team.
For sure, but you can do the same with all sorts of units. Ervalen has been getting all sorts of work these days doing that exact thing. If the question was to build her, sure, might be fun. But using our 2nd ML selector event ever to grab her, is probably a bad choice, when so many other good units are in that pool. Of course, if you love the character and art and that trumps use, go for it, main point is having fun.
I'm back on this bullshit for a bit with a new account since old one is apparently banned for 999 years or something.
They clearly redid the early chapters, or at least the second one so far. For one thing the Reingar students are no longer batshit insane cops who have no business overseeing a parking garage let alone an entire city. The flow of events is also much better, making it so Tenebria's appearance at the end is actually justified in a way that's not having her pop out like a magical deranged genie just because a bad rock was brought into the tower. Yuna herself has also gotten a character overhaul, no longer the quirky ditz who also should have never been given authority, but someone who is genuinely a fish out of water from another world with self esteem issues.
Also at the very end they find Ras's pass and like reasonable people understand they were wrong instead of locking him up for weeks writing lines until oopsy we made a fucky wucky lol comedy. Much improved.

Episode 1 world was just recently reworked. It's a lot shorter now, but also a lot less bullshit.
Chapter 1 and 1.5 are always kind of the weakest. They made it better, but it's best to just blaze through it. The other main improvement is that all the side stories are available now. When you pick one, the unit should get their own banner. But just having them available is really a major improvement since if you missed some, especially the Chapter 2 and on ones, they are part of the story.
Just finished Episode 1 10-10 and unlocked Side Stories + Unrecorded History. They really revamped this stuff, I like that feature which was mentioned above where after you play a Side Story you've unlocked you can open up that character's banner. There's several units on the list that when I originally played had to be gotten on rarely-scheduled banners or you probably weren't getting them outside free Covenant pulls or Mystic summons.
I'll refrain from summoning anyone just yet though. Need to peruse the list and figure out who is still viable nowadays since it's been long enough that many of them have gotten various changes that my previous knowledge isn't worth much. Did get the SC's for Kluri and Montmorancy started though, those two are evergreen F2P all-stars for the Tank and Healer slots respectively.
Right now my team consists of ML Tenebria (Moonlight Blessing), ML Tiera, Ravi, and Sigret. I also have one of those potions that will instantly 6 Star a unit, but I'm saving that for someone fresh.

Also I know that people want to make that statement but she will actually need HP and Def on gear so cant just swap the Hwa gear over heh.
