Reading a thread is marking the entire subforum as "read"

Just seemed to start in the last few minutes for me. Every time I enter a thread in a subforum (SE, D&D, G&T, and here, doesn't seem to matter where), then go back up to the top level, every thread in the entire sub forum is being marked as read and grays out.

    Possibly related but my bookmarks button is now showing like 10 items instead the normal 5ish and many of them are super ancient.
    Edit: wait it's actually just showing literally all my bookmarks in a scrollable form.

    I don't use bookmarks, so maybe that's related.

    edit: this is really awful! the forums are sort of unusable without being able to see what threads you actually posted in & have updated (easily)

    issue seems to be fixed for me now

    edit: oh no it is definitely not fixed, but it seems intermittent instead of every single time?

    +1 not seeing forum-marked-read on Android Chrome (but dodid have the inverted bookmark sort)

    This is occurring on mobile as well.

    It's a thing where I am just... not going to be able to use the forums until this is fixed. It does not only make it extremely difficult to find threads I am actually engaging in, but it removes my ability to pick up in the thread where last I left.

    For me the thread is marked as read, but if I click said thread it actually does take me to where I left off

    Yeah it just happens whenever it feels like it.

    It is extremely annoying and as has been said, makes it really hard to follow conversations and/or know if things have been posted.

    Also seeing this, it happens within a subforum. E.g. if I read a thread in G&T, everything in G&T is marked as read, but other threads (even in G&T subforums) are not.

    Only workaround I've seen is to access the thread through your bookmarks.

    Yeah the bookmarks bug is horrible, but at least you can get around it. This one makes it very difficult to browse at all...

    That it doesn't seem to be affecting every user the same way makes it all the more perplexing.

    It mostly appears fixed for me, bookmarks are sorted by read date and threads aren't getting auto-marked read any more, the only issue I'm still seeing is that the Bookmarks drop-down is like 3 pages long.
