A new Budokai Tenkaichi game just got announced (Sparking is the Japanese name of the series)
I've never played them, but I liked watching them a bunch when friends played
xenoverse is more of a fighting RPG kind of thing? a lot of building your character and building up numbers and such
budokai tenkaichi was more of a straight up "dragonball translated into a more or less normal 3D fighting game" affair IIRC
they have their similarities to be sure but budokai was not about making custom original the characters in the way that xenoverse is

I am just now showing Z Kai to my sons, one who is 13 and one who is 6. They both are into it, and one thing that I had absolutely forgotten was in this episode, where Piccolo starts training Gohan, and he monkeys out and piccolo's response is to blow up the moon.
My 13 year old was like "...he has to put that back in the morning though (???? the morning??? why?). So many things would die without the moon"
and I just had to be like son....they super did not think about that even for a second, and neither should you
I appreciate that z kai is split into two “seasons” on Hulu: season one being everything up through cell and season 2 starting with teen gohan/Mr sayanman etc.
It makes the time I’m expecting to be like “and then the show ended, on to Hunter x Hunter” much easier.
I mean maybe Kai salvages buu but I just had no time for it when it was coming out
It kinda blew my mind that in the original show, everything after Future Trunks blowing up Cell was over a third of the entire Z run, compared to it being just over a quarter of the manga.

DBZ Kai has a weird thing going on where while they did cut out most of the filler up to Cell (releasing in 2009-2011), the Buu saga (released 2014-2015) is... well. I guess maybe cutting out the filler was a bit more effort than the profits justified or something, because there's way more of it that survived into those last three seasons.
...Wait, looking at the Wikipedia listings I guess eight of the Great Saiyaman episodes weren't even in the Japanese version of DBZ Kai? What even happened there?
