The ending choice in the Gollum game sounds hilariously silly and edgy

What is it, I ask, sighing deeply
After breeding this carrier bird, players are given the option to name it "Little One," but those who don't wish to grow too attached to the small creature can choose to leave it nameless. During the climax of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, players will then be forced to decide whether Gollum should kill the bird or let it live, which can be a pretty hard decision to make.

After defeating the Candleman during Chapter 10: The Friend, Gollum will leave Mell and begin his journey to the Shire. When he finally escapes the Mirkwood, he sees his loyal bird, Little One, waiting for him.

The player will then need to choose between the Kill Little One or Let Little One live prompts that appear on the screen. Since it was the bird's fault that Sauron's forces found their way into the Mirkwood, it makes sense why Gollum would wish to take revenge, especially if players never named the creature.
No matter what choice players make, the scene that plays after either killing Little One or setting the creature free will always follow Gollum as he wanders through Moria. The credits will roll when the cutscene ends, so players are free to choose whichever option they prefer, as the decision only affects what happens during one cutscene.

the video clip i watched of that is so funny because it's entirely devoid of any context, it's just this insane prompt that comes up and then the scene is over so it's like.....what are we doing here guys

Fired up Against The Storm to try and finish up a settlement that I took a break from because while I think it was probably winnable it was in a really awkward stage and was going to be rough going for a while.
Turns out there was a patch and in progress settlement saves were removed, so they gave me the citadel resources I would have gotten had it been successful.
    Yay!

So, if the Xbox controller plugged into my PC has now decided that clicking the left stick also means I'm holding down the left trigger for an indefinite amount of time, then that's a controller that's just gone bad right?

Double checked key bindings and also tried another controller of the same make and model and it didn't do it, so I assume no amount of driver fiddling or anything will save that first controller?

Sounds like, yeah. Before tossing it, maybe open it up and try fiddling with it's innards to get it working?

Last time my controller was doing weird stuff, it was because I was playing a non-Steam game and Steam thought I was trying to use the controller for desktop mouse controls. Just had to remember to shut Steam off all the way when playing that game.

I am not an expert but people are fairly suspicious of that trailer because the makers are a mobile game studio who make on rails set pieces. The question is basically how much of it is gameplay and how much you are watching QTEs without button prompts.

Hmm. well, if it turns out not to be what I'm looking for then maybe that other wuxia game will do it for me. Where Winds Meet? I remember thinking it had a cool trailer and then never saw another bit of news about it though, so who knows. I just want to play some cool wuxia thing!

It reminds me of the trailer for Chrono Odyssey that dropped a week or two ago. It's like, okay buddy. That game looks a little too good, you know what I mean?

Like I didn't like square-enix's trailer for not-splatoon, but i looked at it and went "That's a video game. That's clearly exactly what this game looks like"

The base game is $50, which would make it budget priced nowadays. But it is kind of obvious they want people to buy the $60 version that comes with what would be pretty basic stuff like lore to explain what the fuck is going on for people who aren't huge LoTR nerds

I mean, a Gollum game seems perfectly interesting to me. Being a fucked up little weirdo who has to use stealth and a bit of low cunning to get away with shit is at least a novel concept, and taking a swing on a novel concept is worth it IMO. The fact the game is a broken, poorly designed, ugly in the wrong way piece of junk is disappointing, but it's still more interesting to me as a thing that exists than like, any of the last 10 AC games.

I'm sorry but "being the well known IP Gollum in a period that wasn't interesting enough for the author to write a story about, which ends before the story gets good" is more conceptually interesting to you than "experience adventure and intrigue in unique historical settings across the world and time"? That's bizarre to me. I get avoiding AC games because you hate Ubisoft, or specifically how they're making them or how they play or whatever, but conceptually? Nah, AC is one of the best concepts for an action adventure game ever.
