Then get together with a few people and do a modern rewrite that doesn't sound like crap and just give it to him and say, "this is how we're doing it because it doesn't sound like it was written by a hack."

    School production, dude.

If you don't know, directors of those things think they are Gods of the theater, and dissent in the ranks shall not be tolerated. I'd really love to, but...

I was in a production of Anything Goes in high school.

Honestly, you can't fuck up the thing more than it's written. It was origionally supposed to have the ship sink, but there was a ship that sank in the news right before the musical came out and Cole Porter had to re-write the last half of the musical. Result: shit.

keanu reeves is my all-time favorite actor

see, he acts by not acting

anyone can act, really; what takes real skill is remaining totally stoic throughout a film

it is a revolution in acting

I haven't read the book, but isn't that sort of the point?

Like, it is almost a stream-of-consciousness type thing; you feel confused because keanu's character feels confused

i wasn't confused, that's one of the things that i hated about it

it was perfectly clear when keanu reeves was in which part of his life

i probably would have been a lot more interested if i'd been confused

    Haha, yeah.

The director tried to find the most unrevealing lingerie he could, which was pretty funny in and of itself, really.

The girl was pretty hot also. One of the perks of doing that play.

Oh it was a terrible adaptation

Maybe my memory of it it just mostly influenced by Tom Waits (awesome), Gary Oldman (awesomer), and Monica Bellucci's tits all up ins (the awesomest) and I just blocked out the bad stuff.

We ran into similar problem with our director when we where doing a remake of "The Mouse That Roared" a play about a tiny country durring the Cold War that gets a hold of important US hostages and a nuke.

Our Director wanted to update EVEYTHING to current times. Even changing all Russian jokes to Middle East jokes. Thank god we talked her out of it.

I don't remember the book that well, but I don't recall mina being all gaga over dracula without there being any blood exchange

I thought the characters of mina and lucy were idiots and lucy couldn't keep her damn dress on
